I haven't understand what UG said about desire, there was stil natural desire left in him or it was gone completly? Like a desire to go there and not somewhere else, or a desire for something to happen, like taking a cheap flight. On the other hand he was choiceless... Also, the recording is not always easy to understand.
Of course he had desires but not desires that are anchored within mind that leads to materialism. His desires were simple and based on the body; sleeping, eating, movement. While most people's desires are aimed outside of themselves; happiness, money, sex, clothes, cars, enlightenment, spirituality, religiosity, etc. Like he says at 10:50!
