This were the place were three men called Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan from the most successful irish boyband Westlife were born and raised in this incredible city. I hope one day I could visit it.
Not really, there are hotels in Sligo town but they are about 5-10km away from Maugherow Hall (im assuming by maugherow hall you mean Lissadell House) but there are many B&B around Maugherow. Cliffoney is just 20 mins. outside Sligo town, and had beautiful views of the mountians, and in some places, the sea. You can get a hotel in the village of mullaghmor, whih is a seaside town with views of Donegal and Sligo, and is just 2km outside of Cliffoney, but if you want to be in Cliffoney, there is one B&B in Cliffoney and many more on the sligo side, and the Donegal side of the village. im from sligo have a question or two , do you realize you passed the statue of lady erin twice without saying a thing about the historical heritage and by woolworths do you mean qiunns worth ?
No there was woolworths on that street aswell on the opposite side of the street to tesco who took over quinsworth.Woolworths closed down in the early 80s guck
just did my DNA test. are there any Costello's or Goolrick's still living in Sligo? I traced my paternal bloodline to an Edward Costello who married a Bridget Goolrick in the early 1800's in Sligo.
nice town, nice people, but still have the dirty town planning department on any council.full of self appointed fools , that turn a blind eye to some waist dumps and good old boys, but can harass decent folk over a fence or too.by the way if you are Australian, and not Irish they will really discriminate against you.

My great grandfather’s brother was Edward Costello from Carrowmore, Co. sligo.
Sligo is a big town, there are 100's of people with these surnames all over the place
