@@mikejones-go8vz When the Beatles played live all their songs pretty much sounded the same too. When they diversified their music they stopped playing live for many reasons which one of them would be their latter years stuff were much difficult to replicate live. Queen never ever played live their odd and quirky stuff such as "Seaside Rendezvous", "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy", "Bring Back that Leroy Brown" because it would be bizarre for a hard rock band to play vaudeville songs at their concerts or even perform some of their rock opera stuff in the true spirit of the recordings on the actual albums. All that being said Queen has done rockabilly (Crazy Little Thing Called Love), metal (Stone Cold Crazy), hard rock, psychedelic rock, pop, FUNK rock (Another One Bites the Dust), electro funk (The Invisible Man), glam rock (Fat Bottomed Girls), art rock, operatic rock, folky ('39), baroque pop, ragtime, gospel (Somebody to Love), dance/disco, r n b (Cool Cat), acoustic (Is This the World We Created.....?), jazzy blues (My Melancholy Blues), Arabic (Mustapha), [progressive rock (The Prophet's Song), Christmas music (Thank God It's Christmas), Soul (One Year of Love & Pain Is So Close to Pleasure), Caribbean and many more that I don't bother to look more into. Has The Beatles ever done "disco"? It didn't exist in their time (to be fair when Queen was around the music is far more diverse than in the 60s so they have more options to be creative with). Has The Beatles ever done gospel? Nope! Vaudeville? I don't think so. One thing The Beatles did that Queen or any other rock band has never done was children songs!!! LOL Hello??????? "Yellow Submarine" and maybe even "When I'm 64". No skin off Queen's nose.

The Beatles were putting out so much from 1967 onwards that some of it was bound to go under the radar,...tracks like 'Hey Bulldog' and 'It's all too Much' are good examples. That first came out on the original 'Yellow Submarine' album that had George Martin's orchestral pieces on side 2 and the album didn't sell in the quantities the 'white album' and 'Abbey Road' did. Many Beatles fans felt it wasn't worth paying full price for an album of only 50% Beatles music, so apart from die hard Beatles fans those two tracks were largely forgottten for the next 30 years. In the early days in the USA we were a little late getting their stuff. So we used to sit around the radio because for a time, every Friday or Saturday night the local NY station, WABC, would introduce a "new" song. Usually it was an earlier UK release or part of a UK album. It was magic. Eventually we caught up but it was still magic knowing a new album or single was coming out. As difficult as the 60's were I would not trade the Beatles portion of it for anything. I remember it with joy and love.

I think what made The Beatles especially special for my generation was that there were no other distractions to dilute our thirst and attention. Pop groups, new singles and later albums, the Top 20, Top of the Pops, New Musical Express, Melody Maker and Sounds were important institutions in our young lives and boy did we pay attention. 60’s musicians had everyone’s fullest attention and the standards achieved were earth shattering and resonate even today, evidently as the above reaction video shows. The Beatles smashed it with every single and led the way feeding off musical influences from the US and later British historical references (psychedelia). They inspired other groups and left an indelible mark on the memory of a generation. Looking back I realise we were very very lucky to have lived through that time musically. How brilliant therefore many years on that we all feel compelled to comment and add our bit to the comments of a young guys reaction video!

I was there when it first came out. For 7 years nearly the whole top 40 was the beatles. Some songs stayed as number one for 45 weeks they were so revolutionary to what had been before. They also made movies and invented half a dozen genres of music. They discovered dozens of other artists and wrote songs for them and still do. They changed the world. The way people thought, how they looked, dressed and acted. They drove the peace movement and after they broke up they individually still made as many top songs.

Dear Prudence from the same Lp is another classic Lennon song well worth a reaction. Check out Ringo's drumming the last minute or so on this one, the man is much more talented then he's given credit for. You keep trying to rank your favorites, my advice would be to just 🛑 stop now and save yourself the trouble. I can see already you're having trouble trying to remember which ones and you've still just begun to scratch the surface. My best advice to you for now would go back to like Rubber Soul, released like December 3, 1965. Revolver 8/6/66 and then Peppers 5/26/67. I would suggest listening to these in chronological order too appreciate the growth of this band in just 17 months, this will never happen again and you can take that to the bank.

You turning me back on to the White Album again. And I agree, you can not box them in. As I discovered their music more and more over the years and I'm like how were they like this? It's crazy to be this versatile

The Beatles took the sounds of amazing Rhythm & Blues artists from america and perfected their own take of the blues before their first album was ever recorded

That change at 4.08 was a tape edit, two different pieces spliced and taped together. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it as they say.

The sessions for what became the White Album commenced at the end of May 1968. Over the next 11 weeks the band was beginning to fracture. Tension between the Beatles, and the EMI staff were running high. Ringo Starr, who'd had enough. walked out on the band the first week of August. After a couple weeks, cooler heads prevailed and Ringo returned. Having his drums showered with roses on his return. The Beatles set up in a small annex room off Studio 2. So close together that proper separation was impossible. They didn't care. The 4 guys crammed into the room and the song they recorded was Yer Blues. The Beatles righted the ship and the remaining sessions were much happier and productive. On October 30th, with 30 songs in the can, The White Album was completed. Great reaction H B. RNB

I was lucky enough to have grown up with them. Saw their first appearance on US TV in 1964. Got to listen to each album as it came out, as their singles filled the air. They appeared at Shea Stadium in Queens--even my dad went to see them perform. I rode in the elevator with John and Yoko, just months before he was shot. Saw all their films as they were released. Lucky.

The Dirty Mac are: John Lennon and Eric Clapton Guitars, Keith Richards Bass and Mitch Mitchell, from The Jimi Hendrix Experience< on Drums. It is a MUST SEE AND HEAR.

I don't know how you RUclips reaction guys exercise such restraint. When I discovered the Beatles, pre-internet in the 90s, I was at the library the next Saturday taking out every Beatles CD they had (the American Rubber Soul on cassette, Abbey Road with Oh Darling! and I Want You(She's So Heavy), Help! and The Beatles 1962-66) I burned through them all in the time it took to listen to them all back to back. LOL

When this LP was about to be released a local FM station played the entire LP, without commercial or any other interruptions, every week night for two weeks, before and after playing other stuff. And during those two weekends played all of it and all and only "Beatles".
"The Beatles" hit the US at #1 and never peaked. They continued to become more and more enormous until they broke up.
