Ringo was the most versatile drummer ever; it always irritates me when people try to downgrade his drumming. You can tell when he's hitting the symbols, he knows just how long to let them linger before he strikes them again and so on and so on. There couldn't be any other drummer for The Beatles

Beatles returning to rock n roll, after 1967 and Sgt. Pepper/Magical Mystery Tour, was very welcome. 68 & 69 Beatles ended their band career on a high note. And ending the band was the right decision.

Yeah, I suggested that awhile back. I think it's one of George's most personal heartfelt songs.
In late 1968, the Rolling Stones produced a show titled "Rock and Roll Circus'. One of the 'Acts' on the bill was called "The Dirty Mac". It consisted of Jimi Hendrix drummer Mitch Mitchell, Keith Richards on Bass, Eric Clapton on guitar and John Lennon on lead vocal and guitar. The song they performed was Yer Blues. RNB
That film is a great time capsule. The Who and Jethro Tull are also great in that.

By the R&R Circus, Brian Jones was nearly at his tipping point. Poor guy was such an integral part of those early and mid 60's classic songs. A veritable "Swiss Army Knife'. The bands founder and musical conscience. A true blues aficionado. But by 1969, he was a shell of his former self and sadly, not long for this Earth. What a waste...Take care Mike, RNB

This one (of many) favorites from this album. I absolutely love the part in the 2nd verse when Lennon sings, 'in the eeeevvvening'. He's singing that line with his heart and soul. The best part is when they pick it up from a blues to a rock tempo, play a short instrumental then switch it back to the original tempo. Love, love, love this song. "Yer Blues" follows "Birthday" on side three of The Beatles White Album. So fitting for today eh? Happy Birthday! "My mother was of the sky \ My father was of the earth \ But I am of the universe" -- John Lennon reverses the traditional earth-mother, sky-father construct to declare his being with the universe. "Dylan's Mr. Jones" references a character in "Ballad of a Thin Man" from Bob Dylan's classic 1965 album Highway 61 Revisited. Check out the live version of this song featured in The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus film. Eric Clapton plays guitar. Keith Richards (of The Rolling Stones) plays bass. Mitch Mitchell (of The Jimi Hendrix Experience) plays drums. And Lennon sings and plays guitar of course.

Here's the thing girl yeah you want to try to get a hold of that clip with some it's got John Lennon playing this song with Eric Clapton they put a band together they called it the Dirty Mac it had Keith Richards on base Eric Clapton on guitar John Lennon on guitar and vocals and it had Mitch Mitchell on drums who was the drummer for The Jimi Hendrix experience and you just got to see the well at least the first part of it there's a part where Yoko comes in and it gets kind of crazy with that part but anyway yeah Eric Clapton does some of his best guitar work he just was with the group cream and he was just stellar okay gang girl
Have one thing I forgot Cindy is there's an intro also you might want to check that out as well before they play the song and it's it's the singer from the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger talking to John Lennon and it's funnier than heck oh my gosh he says to John Lennon harassed the question oh so you have the drummer Mitch Mitchell from the Jimi Hendrix experience and then he asks John Lennon are you experienced and he says oh yes I'm very qualified just read my file which is really funny but anyhow because of the context that's you know out of context as it were all right baby doll
