"I savagely bit into the meringue" You animal. I miss City Bakery which used to make it's own massive square marshmallows. I once had to call a friend to come and pick me up because I had a sugar moment and passed out on a snowbank after City Bakery.
It was a great relaxed experience with wonderful service and product. I used to reward myself after every IRS audit because my accountant was next door. Memories. @@Jamesnu
City Bakery was everything. Was a regular. The February hot chocolate month was legendary with a different infused flavor everyday with their own house made marshmallows. So rich they would offer just shot size to those whose constitution didn’t want to risk it.
Ah ha. Thanks to you, my list of interesting places and delicious things to see and try, grows and grows. It only remains for me to thank you infinitely.
I live around the corner from Glace and i've yet been able to get one of these because of the lines. Between Glace and Milano Market going viral on Tik Tok recently, I can't get hot chocolate or Italian sandwiches in my neighborhood anymore lol It's insane haha
Hi James! Love the channel. I'm visiting NYC in a couple of months with my parents and wanna take them out for a nice dinner. What would you recommend with a budget around $200 per person.
Thank you! There are plenty of great options at that price point. If you want to go to a steakhouse I would recommend Keens or Delmonico's, both are very impressive. Delmonico's provides many other excellent dishes other than steak. I would also take a look at 63 Clinton as their tasting menu is of great value.
It's not very big. Compared to photos, it seems smaller in person, but personally, I thought that it was a nice size, but the price was just too expensive.
Glace is next door to Eli Zabar's, home of the $29 ham and cheese sandwich. I tried the hot chocolate without all those toppings. It's ok. Not even close to being one of the best, imho. Bad Habit is way better. My personal favorites are Burdick and MarieBelle.
I waited over an hour for Japanese cheesecake in Toronto Ontario Canada. Uncle Tetsu was definitely not worth the price. Although Japanese cheesecakes seem much superior to regular cheesecake because they are very light bouncy and fluffy the taste to me was not worth $12 Canadian for a 6 inch round.
Like you said, trie once, but not a repeat. $ 13,- for a (upscaled) coffee?! I'm the fortunate owner of a full automatic Swiss espresso machine. Set to my demanding standards (with the right beans). I am also a trained professional baker. One plus one...
Well if Starbucks doesn't do it for you this isn't all that much more. WTH not something I could do every day but ya gotta treat yourself sometimes. Thanks again for another great video!
I love chocolate but for that price I can buy some milk, some chocolate, whip cream & marshmallows & have several cups of hot chocolate...lol!! I agree it looks delicious but that price is ridiculous. Keep up the great work & videos.
actually stopped buying drinks outside on a regular basis. Prepare my hot drinks a home... it looks so delicious tho ... veryNew York I guess, maybe a coffeenote is missing.. could be nic e with the dri nk
It was definitely good and I was fortunate that I didn't have to wait in any lines. Yeah, if one has the right stuff, you can definitely make a great hot chocolate.
Excellent video again James! 😊🎉 I love eating vicariously through you!!
Thank you so much!
Love the new video quality! Your the goat man.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!

I've heard great things about City Bakery. I'm bummed that I never had the chance to visit.

I also liked that he savagely bit into the meringue..my mind was blown away!!
It's always the cute, innocent looking ones.

Thank you for watching! I hope that you get to see and try it all!
gosh! thank you for this. cant wait to move to NYC and try this.
Thanks for watching! It's definitely worth a try!
“Good to the last drop.” The way you eat, and drink, everything you are served, that should be your motto or channel subtitle.
I like that!

Yeah, it's crazy. I was really lucky that I didn't have to face one of those insane waits.
i work right near this place theres a line down the block everyday at lunch
Nice! I think I definitely got lucky with the day I went.
Thanks for experiencing this for me. Maybe one day I’ll get the chance the go but for now your video put me there!
Thank you for watching!
Well James, This is like a special little desert review. Love it. I'm going to make myself a hot chocolate right now. As always, thanks, Rich
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your hot chocolate!

Love the video as well as the SKX watch
Thank you! That's my favorite watch.
Would love to see some of your other pieces but of course Im here for the food, watches 2nd.
@@EriCooks I'll try to feature them a bit more in my videos.
how big is that cup? i could see paying that amount if the cup was bigger like 20oz, not 8oz
It's not very big. Compared to photos, it seems smaller in person, but personally, I thought that it was a nice size, but the price was just too expensive.
Cannot have sweet but that looked soo good rhank you
Thank you for watching and Happy Birthday again!
That looks perfectly designed for influencers to post and be seen with.
Haha! Yeah, the drink seems like it was made for Instagram.
Bro influencers ? That's not a real job lol and shows how brainless half of America is... God help us
No indoor seating at Glace?
Unfortunately there's no indoor seating. It's really small inside.
Another must try. Perhaps this weekend? 😊
Go for it! Although, the weekend lines are probably the longest.
With a price like that, I'm glad they didn't charge you for that spoon you had to request!
Lol
Haha! Yeah, it wouldn't have surprised me at a place like that.
It truly is a hot chocolate on a new level!
Absolutely! It was pretty epic!
Maybe I would try it once but to pay that much for a beverage that does not contain alcohol …. Not so much. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, it's the type of drink that's worth trying, but for that kind of price, it's hard to be a repeat customer.
That's one month's gym membership.
Yeah, it's crazy!
I love your cute little hat James.
Thank you!
Love love hot chocolate! Wish they would open up a store in LA!
It's a great beverage!
So unusual looking. Definitely has a novelty factor. I'm almost surprised that they aren't charging more!
It's definitely a unique drink!
You are every price gougers hard on dream
Thanks for the video.
Safe Journey!
Yellowbird Blue Agave Sriracha!!!
Thank you for watching!
Doesn't seem too expensive for what you get. But I'm coming from a Hawaii perspective, where juices and smoothies are a similar price
Fair enough.

I heard about that sandwich. It's ridiculous! Yeah, Bad Habit was amazing! I also appreciate those recommendations! I'll keep them in mind.
I was wondering if you'd drop $15 on a Hot Chocolate. A solid video!
Thank you! Yeah, I was definitely curious about the drink and it looked so good!
I really don’t know how most people survive in that city. With the high cost of things. Insane.
It's definitely expensive, but that hot chocolate was even more expensive than most other hot chocolates in the city.
There is nothing in the world good enough to wait an hour in line for
Yeah, besides the price, the waiting is one of the worst parts.
@@jholly5747 I've been to Uncle Tetsu as well. I liked it, but I don't think I would wait that long for it.
Ahem.
Not even a kiss on the cheek by Taylor Swift! Lol@Booshay_
Looks pretty good, maybe a bit costly. Thanks for the video!
It was great, but yeah, it's too expensive. Thanks for watching!

Indeed! I'm glad that I tried it. It was definitely good, but I probably won't be back for more at that price point.
Well if Starbucks doesn't do it for you this isn't all that much more. WTH not something I could do every day but ya gotta treat yourself sometimes. Thanks again for another great video!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, it's good to have an indulgence every once in a while.
If I get 1 burger in NYC which burger is it?
My favorite is the black label burger at Minetta Tavern. It's expensive, but it was the best burger that I've ever had.
Thanks James
I love chocolate but for that price I can buy some milk, some chocolate, whip cream & marshmallows & have several cups of hot chocolate...lol!! I agree it looks delicious but that price is ridiculous. Keep up the great work & videos.
Thank you! Yeah, when you think of how much other stuff you can buy for that price, it sounds even more expensive.
It’s really not that hard to make a good hot chocolate. It’s all how you present it.
Indeed!
I would say that if you only crave hot chocolate occasionally why not splurge on the most unique and flavorful. Do I detect a stuffy nose?
Definitely! My nose was runny while I filmed that. It was mainly because of the cold weather.
Kinda like Katz deli, totally overpriced but amazing so you can treat yourself occasionally for Their main dish
Now , what would one's cardiologist have to say about having a Katz's pastrami on rye full sandwich followed by a Glace by Noglu? Lol@aloweyballa
I know what you mean!
I feel like the reason this guy hasn't found a wife yet is because of how much money he would be spending on dinners.. 😂😂😂 and $15 hot chocolates..
Haha! Yeah, an appreciation for food is definitely an important quality to me.
If it’s instagramable it’s going to do well. And it always ends up being mid. Hence why I avoid these places.
I know what you mean.
For idiots like you that need a photo app to decide what to buy...go be a leader not a follower
First here, for overpriced hot chocolate.
Nice!
🙌🏼🥰
Thank you for watching!
🥰☕️💝
Thanks for watching!
New York is one giant theme park , everything is overpriced compared to other cities .
Yeah, the high prices is the one thing of NYC that pretty much no one enjoys.
Same for San Francisco except we don’t have as many clowns🤡
The question is why? It's a crime ridden shit hole
glace: 'gla-ahs'.
Indeed.
@@Jamesnu When do you plan to dry the restaurant at the Algonquin Hotel? The roast beef there, as I recall, is outstanding.
@@johnzajac9849I'm not sure. I've got so many restaurants to try, but I'll get to it eventually.
So much is about gimmick. What’s the latest gimmick. In food and drink.
I know what you mean.
I think it is run by Eli Zabar's son (hence the price).
Yeah, that's one connection I didn't get a chance to mention in the video.
What a rip off. No thanks.
Yep, it's definitely overpriced.
You need to study your French pronunciation ❤
Oui.
It was nasty sorry.
Fair enough.
I know the price is outlandish.....but trying one is all the fun!!! Thanks for going for us!🎉🎉🎉❤🧉
Yeah, it was definitely an experience that was more than just about a fancy beverage. Thanks for watching!

Absolutely! I was thinking just how well the beverage would taste if I had a cup of coffee in my other hand.
"Its NYC" ...one giant shit hole 😂
Looked good. As long as I don’t have to wait in lines I could make it better myself though …almost 🧋
It was definitely good and I was fortunate that I didn't have to wait in any lines. Yeah, if one has the right stuff, you can definitely make a great hot chocolate.
