I set boundaries, my mom continued to cross them. She resents me. She continually tells me. So I went no contact and never looked back. Not all Mother Daughter relationships are repairable. Some you just have to set free with love and gratitude!!!

My parents had a crap marriage. My mom had to stay with him because she was afraid to try to survive with me and my two sisters. He drank, had other women. I’m 60, and they’ve both passed now. Your relationships do change after a certain point. Especially when you have those boundaries and they know there is no other choice. The child becomes the parent in so many ways. You definitely have the right attitude, I think. If you can’t forgive, you will only be making yourself and your family unhappy. It doesn’t hurt the parents after they’ve gone. No family is perfect. Keep going, keep forgiving, and keep loving. ❤

I tried boundaries, they were somewhat helpful, I would usually give in. My mom had health issues and I would give in. I loved the oops and baby to entertain description. I was the oops and I watched the entertain child. This was such a powerful podcast. I appreciate the insight and hearing I wasn’t the only one. My mom passed and we never reached your point

Crazy I find you just when I am in this season of dealing with my mom who has dementia. She is so angry and accuses me of horrible things and can even get violent. As an almost 55 year old, I am still trying to be a great wife, working full time and raising a teen. Now dealing with my mom and all the things she did not get set up is very challenging. I doubt I could have her in my home since I travel for work and she needs supervision 24hours. A tough season and the guilt she gave me as a child is now continuing. Boundaries are not an option since her cognitive understanding is not in the mix.

so sorry to hear babe ❤️ I know how hard it can be and I am fortunate for my mom to be grateful and not angry, but we needed my dad to have care full time as we just couldn't do it ourselves. Keep remembering you have your family who needs you too as I know how much of your energy your mom can take.🙏🙏🙏❤️

Caroline we have nearly the exact same coloring except I have a lighter eye color but I ADORE your eye makeup .. I’ve recently just stopped wearing makeup bc I stop coloring my hair many years ago and now I’m back to blonde : grey… and coming from black hair , I do t like the way my old way of makeup looks on me .
Can you tell me your eye makeup routine please?

"He was a cheater, really good guy"
lol, I now see why I'm going to be single forever if this is what women perceive "great guys" to be.

The description of cheater / good guy is so interesting isn’t it? I could ever find a good descriptor for it but she really hit the nail on the head!
