We all know that Agatha was under the influence of Wanda's enchantment at the end of Wandavision. So what we actually seeing at the start of this series is the POV of Agatha being Agnes - being emprisoned to someone's magic. Ang her neighbors are playing along ang humuoring her.
I know that they say that ep. 1 is a spoof on some Danish show, but it seems clear to me that "Agnes of Westlake" is clearly, at least partly, a spoof of "Mare of Easttown", the award winning Kate Winslet crime drama. Kathryn is clearly being Mare here. Just look at the similarity of the show/episode names too.
They were pointing out that a lot of these crime shows are based on or adapted from Scandinavian media, but yeah it was pretty much Mare of Easttown based on the accents they were doing (since Westview is in NJ not Pennsylvania)

My theory is they took their shoes off because the Witches' Road is holy ground for witches. Also, when the "Chief" mentions the soil samples were from Eastern Europe, that's a reference to Sokovia, where Wanda and Pietro are from.
I thought Ref to Mt wundagore.. Where Wanda 'died' - Same as the author name Andrew Ugo = wundagore as the first darkhold spells were on the walls there.

Watch “Mrs Hart” be a low juice green witch the entire time, casually aware of what was going on but not powerful enough to be a player until walking the road. Could be how she could break character in WV season 1 to tell Wanda to “Stop it”
After episode 2: Yikes 😬😂 Also, she was telling Mr Hart to stop it, not Wanda. The scene plays out like Mr Hart is fooling around and pretending to choke and was laughing telling him to stop it.

I love the show so far, and the best part is that there really isn't much in terms of lore from the comics for them to go off for Agatha herself, so Kathryn Hahn can really make the character her own. In the comics her backstory is pretty similar, being a witch from the Salem Witch Trials and fleeing Salem, but then she founds a new settlement in Colorado during the 17th century called New Salem that's still around in the modern day of the comics and was briefly a nanny for the Fantastic Four then later a tutor for Wanda Maximoff before she married Vision in the comics. I'm gonna stop there since afterwards it gets into potential spoiler territory.

I've only watched the first two episodes before coming here. I really think the kid knows much more than what he's letting on, and is doing a really good job masking himself. In fact, he may be the one behind Plaza's witch.

These represent the three important stages in a woman's life. maiden: coming of age, Mother: self explanatory and Crone: when a woman becomes elderly/old and has gained wisdom from the life they've lived. wondering if this has anything to do with the plot of the show and where its going? first time watching your channel btw loved your reaction.
i forgot to add that in multiverse of maddnes at the end when wanda destroyed the scarlet witch temple she also destroyed every copy of the dark hold(as in every single copy in every universe) so thats why in the beginning there a massive hole(and toasted books) taken out of the shelves at the library.

She also worked on WandaVision. And you’re right: this show will end on the day before Halloween with the last two episodes. It’s hard to believe that you also reacted to Werewolf by Night about a year ago. The Octobers are gonna be watching that soon, and not long after that Wakanda Forever. On a side note, we’re gradually getting closer to Guardians Volume 3, Loki season 2, and Echo. Deadpool & Wolverine will be streaming soon, but you’ll need to watch more X-Men so you don’t spoiled by accident - at least all the way up to Deadpool 2.

Love Aubrey Plaza, and Kathryn Hanh is brilliant in the supernatural detective role. I knew that it wouldn't last, but I would have loved for the entire series to be like the first 20 minutes. Unfortunately I lost interest as soon as the tone shifted. I'll probably keep watching only beacuse of the two actresses.
