  • A day spent in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. A walk around the city, crossing over the Levadas in the city on a typical busy Funchal day. Lunch at Sé Dourada Restaurante close to the marina where the colorful Madeira sign is. A view of the area where we stayed which was great for anyone without a rental car. This was so centrally located. Rua de Santa Maria area is filled with things to see and do and especially amazing choices for dinning. Our house rental was reserved on www.booking.com -located on Rua de Santa Maria and is listed as ‘Fort Traditional Guest House’ - Upstairs 2 bedroom 1 full bathroom tub and shower -Downstairs 2 living spaces (one has a futon that can be used as a bed) Kitchen (has electric cooktop, Microwave, dishwasher & clothes washer) and half bathroom (toilet and sink). Was very affordable for four people. 7 nights in June 2024 was less than $900.00USD
