Alor Setar is in Kedah. We didn't get ferry to Kedah. So we got a package from Langkawi to Kuala Perlis by Ferry, then ARAU Train Station from Kuala Perlis to Butterworth Train Station (near Penang) via Alor Setar Station at Kedah.
No. It was our last option, so had to take. First you should look for Langkawi to Kedah Ferry, to reach Penang easily. If not, then look for other options.
