I am an old lady... well not old but I have 4 kids 23, 21, 16 and 13. I always tell them to give their young selves grace. If you can look back at your young self and say "oh gosh, I was a baby or a chicken" then you have grown so much and have the "young you" to thank for that. So we all need to give ourselves that grace. You have so much more confidence in the city and went through so much, it's inspiring! I hope you had a fun night out ❤
Girl you're a tough cookie! You've got guts... I'm so sorry about your dad . I lost my dad suddenly and tragically right before the epidemic in July of 2019 ... And yes staying with your mom awhile was a very very needed support and bond that only close nit families could understand...
I remember I started watching your channel around the time that you moved to New York. I also lost my dad around the same time, and I found comfort in knowing that someone else is going through the same thing.(although it does break my heart to know that you suffered that loss. I’m so sorry.) I know we don’t know each other personally, but I am so freaking proud of you! Thank you for being open and vulnerable with us. Sending you all the love ❤️
I really think you did the right thing by making your move to NYC. This is the time to do it before other life obligations come your way. Taking yourself out of your comfort zones forces you to grow and learn more about yourself. This is a very valuable time - savor it!
I totally agree that NYers are not the rude hard-asses they are made out to be. I've seen even more kindness after having my daughter. It's amazingly child friendly.
Not me also moving back in with my parents at 27… I’m glad someone else has had that experience. I had a lot back to back for over a year now, so I’m hoping it’s starting to slow down.
Congratulations on two years!! Don’t ever feel bad about moving back with your parents. I moved back with my parents after moving and I find it a blessing. I can still see them on a daily basis and create a bond with them that I wouldn’t have had if I still lived on my own. Of course everyone’s relationship with their parents is different
Your videos over the last 2.5 years have helped me so much. I broke up with my boyfriend of 6 years in the first half of 2021. The way you made such a big change when you moved to New York, after your whole life was shaken up and then losing your dad, it continues to be something that inspires me to take good risks (what can I say, you’re my parasocial fave 💜).
I've enjoyed your channel for years, but I feel like especially these last couple years your personality has shined so brightly through your videos! Thank you for sharing with us. It's been an absolute joy to see you settle in to New York and be so happy there. Wishing you the best always, Kelly! Happy Anniversary! 🌻💜🥂✨
I'm in my mid-40's now but I also moved to NYC with my best friend when we were 21 (happened to also be July 1st!). I was there for about 2 years and then 9/11 happened (I was working at WTC at the time so my job.....ended abruptly) and after a few months I ended up moving back. My BFF is still there with her husband and kids so I go visit pretty regularly but I realized that long-term, it wasn't for me. But I am SO GLAD I did it! I loved my time there, I grew a lot while I was there, and I learned a lot about myself and what I wanted out of my life. You should be really proud for making such a big move and stretching your wings and pushing out of your comfort zone - you can tell how good your experience has been! Love your channel Kelly - happy 2 year NYC anniversary!
As someone who grew up in NYC and got married and moved to LI….now living in PA, I miss NY!! I miss so much about it. I miss being close to beaches and just so much more things in NY. You being young I think its great you are in NYC. More opportunities. As they say, if you can make it there you can make it anywhere. I’m also glad you are living in the same state as your Mom. You both will need that support. Sorry about your Dad. So horrible that covid took away so many lives. Congrats to you in NYC…you will do great. Make good friends.
Congratulations on two years! It's been great to see you make a big change and doing what you want with your life. A lot of what you say about NYC I would say about London in the UK and it probably applies to any big city. The worst thing is how expensive it is, everything else is not as scary as you would think and Londoners are really friendly! They totally will have a conversation with you in a queue, or on the tube, they maybe come across as less open during rush hour when it's crowded and everyone's stressed and tired, which seems the same in Manhattan. I've been to NYC a couple of times and loved it, one of the best things is the people! ❤
I lived in Philly and loved how I could walk to everything or take a bus. I loved being able to walk to everything. I do miss living there. I’ve moved to NC with my hubby. He is from NC. I miss being able to walk to things. I also miss Philly pretzels. Lol
I did travel nursing in the early 2000's. Did 3 cities before settling down. So glad I did! I know Liora Y does videos and has lived in NY her whole life. I think y'all would get along
I love listening to you talk about NYC and about what it's given you. They always sound like love letters to New York and as a native NYCer, it makes me so happy!
Honestly, I’ve lived semi alone, still relying on someone, and then moved back in and I feel you when talking about moving back in with family. However for me, it was the best decision I ever made and things have felt like they are moving in place for me. It takes time to get there may I add but when I came n ask home, I started on a journey of rediscovery and it was amazing. Im still in that journey but to me, seeing who I am will always happen because who I am today is not who I will be tomorrow.
6:55 I totally felt the same thing after I ended my relationship of 7 years and moved back to my parents! Not only did I feel the heartbreak, I also felt like a total failure because, like you said, it seemed like I was taking a major step back instead of forward. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's dealt with feelings like this.
Hey Kelly thanks for sharing this! I always remembered you being so kind, beautiful, confident, and resilient even in challenging situations. I am so happy to see you thriving and this video really helped me deal with a rough patch in my life right now seeing you on the other side. Thinking of you and your family!
Kelly, I am a huge fan of your channel and had no idea you also lost your dad to covid. My father was also in the hospital for about a month before ultimately passing...i definitely know the pain...sending all the love
I love New York, I try to go there whenever I can. I’m a huge fan of the walkable and public transport way of life. If I could I’d live in Europe, but New York is the closest we have to that lifestyle. Next summer we are taking a family trip to New England and I am so excited to introduce my kids to New York, they are 5 and 8 currently. I am from the MN/WI border and although I love the upper Midwest (winter is my favorite season), I get tired of the “Minnesota Nice” and appreciate how honest and direct New Yorkers are. For the last 13 years I have lived in Portland OR and the flakiness sometimes gets to me, people are so agreeable to keep the peace but I wish they’d be a little more Chicago or New York and just tell me what they are really feeling so we can all move on with our days 😂😂
I'm currently on the moving to another place, for the first time in 3 years I will not live together with my current roommate. It is quite a struggle to do everything on my own but I hope everything turns out fine, thank you for sharing your experience! And New York sounds like a city I want to live in, as it has really similar living style to a lot of European cities I have been to, the small grocery stores, and I could walk for 3 kilometers (about 2 miles) without feeling tired at all.
Happy move-aversary! I’m so happy you’re in a much better place now mentally, Kelly - wherever you end up living! I have so much respect for you having the strength to make a move like that after everything you had just been through. I admire you a lot for that.
I remember watching your vids while the whole thing happened. You’ve achieve so much❤ Happy 2 years anniversary!! I guess it’s not the same but I’m in my last month abroad in Japan for my one-year uni exchange program. It’s crazy when I look back and see how I was
Happy 2 years anniversary! I have moved to Toronto from Hong Kong in Sep 2021. And now almost the two year mark, I am going to move to Calgary real soon, so I kinda understand what you mean 🎉
I have been following you for several years now and this is such an aptly times video. I grew up mostly on the East Coast in MA and I’ll be moving across the country in a few short months to LA. I’m approaching my mid-30s now, so the fear of breaking out of one’s comfort zone and trying something new kind of never goes away, but like you said, looking back after doing it, it’s usually a case of ‘Wow, what was I so worried about?’
As a kid my dad lived In Stamford, CT so we went to Manhattan every time I came to visit. I definitely wanted to live there before I moved away from the show. It’s a wonderful place!
Thank you for sharing this story! I am new to your channel and hadnt heard it before. I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️ that is so hard and sad to go through. Many hugs your way! Im a PNW Canadian and I have a dream that in another lifetime i could be a New Yorker. One day i hope to at least visit!!!! Side note. What powder do you think would be a good sub for the one you used thats discontinued? Thanks again for sharing!
Being from Georgia but having a Dad who was born and raised in New York and being around his family, I have people always saying New Yorkers are rude. I just have to tell them that they just have a different way of saying and doing things but they are not being rude.
The Ulta Complexion Crush foundation's one of my favorites, actually that's what I'm currently using, I too have dry skin and I've found that with this particular product less is more, I apply just enough to even out my skin and usind a damp sponge, I get a natural finish, it doesn't look makeup-y or set into my fine lines/pores, plus I can always get it on sale 👍
Just came across your channel. I am new sub. So sorry about your Dad. ❤ I do hauls, but also just did my first video showing my skincare for older women. But I can always learn from everyone! And good for you taking the step towards your dream in moving to NY.
Just moved from Virginia to Utah and I get the being proud of yourself thing. I’ve lived on the east coast for 30 years and it was scary but I’m so glad I did, starting over can be terrifying and so inspiring!😊
I love the hair clips in your hair. I have such thick hair that no other clips have the ability to hold my hair. These clips don't only hold them, they don't ruin a hair style.
Yep you need to put one of those hearts 💓 that way we can say thank you 4 your time... Everyone who can and are able to tip u as we would anyone helping us❣️❣️ I'M IN INDIANA AND MY BEST FRIEND IS IN MICHIGAN THAT IS TOO TOO FUNNY.
I am not a city girl whatsoever. I live in between Chicago and Milwaukee and I never go to either downtown 😅. I don't even like visiting the city. Too many people, too much pan handling, terrible air quality, terrible traffic lol, I grew up in the county in Wisconsin and plan to do so forever.

There are nice people in NYC but I’m sorry, there is some privilege in what you said. I had neighbors pass me while I was carrying a heavy things and a bunch of times they don’t offer help. I always offer but with me it never happens
❤❤❤❤
I've heard people in NYC are very nice but they sound abrasive when they speak so that's why people think they're not very nice.
U need a thank u button so we can send you $$
