  • Main runway 1/19 was closed for repaving and repairs at night only. A319 is the largest aircraft that can land on runway 33.

    Amazing video- this definitely looks like runway 33, the other end of 15. Also, at the end of the video you said you’d be surprised if LAX or PHX can make it off that short runway, they can’t haha. Only 1/19 is used for the longer flights that are heavier. Good video thanks for sharing!!!

    Boeing 737-800 and Airbus 320Neo come with special configurations for short runway operations. One of those they commonly operate on belongs to Rio De Janeiro’s Santos Dumont Airport at 1323 meter/4341 length.

      What’s the special config on the 320neo? The 737 has SFP but I don’t know what you’re talking about on the 320

      @@inflight_aviation A configuration option for A320neo. Google it and there should be some articles describing how it works and where it is used. 😊

      Looks like it's mostly related to aerodynamics at higher angles of attack, reducing drag and takeoff speed
