As folks have pointed out, the "fatigue" rule is applied incorrectly in this video. But hey, at least I was consistently incorrect! At any rate, I hope that doesn't spoil the narrative for you. Cheers!
I love how OPR matches almost always end up as close games, with both sides losing most units by the end of the last round

Power bomb...now all I choose to imagine is Malcion wearing Macho man shades and going "OH YEEEAH!" after slamming the necromancer into the ground.
Yeah. Unfortunately the spell was removed from later AoFS lists. Too powerful I guess.
@@oldhammered Malcion proved to powerful so the council of mages had to do something to stop him slamming other spell casters in the wizard battle circuit.
I'm loving these. Love the tight editing. Lot of other battle reps could take a cue from that. Miss Lynn though, the banter is always great.

You made this fun to watch and very easy to understand too. Very interested in finally playing with these rules with its fun and engaging alternating turn and also playing Conquest with its card system.
i like the idea of having both sides use a wizard as their sole hero. could be fun to limit list building to force include one since usually theyre too expensive

I am not sure, but I think fatigued units can only hit on a 6. That would make a lot of the retaliatory strikes way less deadly.
You are correct. I had the fatigue rules reversed in my head that game.

I'm quite new to wargaming and skirmish battle games. I love the idea of this game but I have the feeling minis are just flying of the table ! Anyway I can't wait to try this with my son. Warcry had I little to many rules for him when we tried last week. Even though he had the time of his life playing with mini's!

Just to check though... I think the Fatigue affects the unit's ability to Hit and not Defend. Also, when those Skellies charged into those Spears, they needed to take a Dangerous Terrain test like the Werewolf did. But what a great narrative game nonetheless. Can't wait to see more!

Great game and lovely models.... However a woeful understanding of the "fatigue" rule which reads as follows in page 11 of the basic rulebook....
"After attacking in melee for the first time during a round either by charging or by striking back, units only hit on an unmodified rolls of 6 in any subsequent melee until the end of the round"
So what you have in every round is units hitting once only on their quality and then on a 6 for every attack after. This way you can send in trash units to fatigue an enemy and then follow it up with a heavy hitter who will only be hit back on a 6.... Defence dice are not affected in anyway.

Activations were done out of order as well. The undead should have gone first in all subsequent turns since they finished activating first.
I’m a a huge fan of Warcry. Great models and about as “cost effective” (not really) as a GW game can be. Do you have any experience with Warcry and how do you feel they compare?
Hey there. We built our Warcry terrain from the original box set, but never actually played a game. Too many things competing for our attention I guess.
I have never played these rules, but wouldn't the wizards spell be -1 to hit with the necromancer behind a rock.

Those are physical trees, with changeable canopies, from Monster Fight Club.
Great video! I want to know the differences between the free book (AoFS - Basic Rulebook v2.16) and the paid version of the book. Is it worth buying it?
You get extra missions, optional actions, random events, rules for command points and critical hits, stuff like that. If you join OPR’s $5 Patreon, you get access to all the OPR full rule sets, plus other things. So yeah, I’d say it’s worth it.

Sorry man, I don’t know anything about Warcry 2.0, except that AoFS is definitely cheaper.
@@oldhammered This week Games Workshop gift the complete Compendium (40 Warbands +800 units) and the next week realease the New Core Rules Book. If you have minis can play Warcry 2.0.
Which army book did you use to make the undead army?
I believe that was the Vampiric Undead.

What armys' stats are you using? I can't find any of the units or spells on the fantasy rosters.
I don't remember the specifics from that game (it was back in 2022), but I do know the AoF rules have been updated a few times since then, and some of the older spells aren't on the current spell lists. Presumably some of the army lists have been updated as well.

What faction was the werewolf from?
The unit is from the Vampiric Undead list. The actual figure is from the Rackham Confrontation Wolfen faction.

They are a different color from the ones sword n steele reviewed... and they seem slightly different.
The tree canopies are available in different colors. You can swap them out or remove them entirely.

I think you forgot that undead have slow
I believe Zombies are slow, but skeleton soldiers are not.
