Hey guys.as always another good topic.i think u can make money nd a career out of djing yes.ther are djs out ther doing it full time.in the early 2000s a popular dj i know was charging 350 per hour at one club nd that night he played at 4 different clubs.hour at each club.so for that saturday night alone he made R1200.if u established i guess its a bit easier ro get regular club or corporate gigs.this dj also did mobile djing during the week nd weekends nd thrn plays at night.nowadays u can obviously make alot more.u need to be disciplined and dedicated.the club scene seems to be steady but some clubs dnt stay around too long. ther are alot of djs out ther wanting to make a name for themselves so they might not charge alot compared to established djs.whether its for one night or as a resident.so now club owners and promotors are spoilt for choice.u hav to promote yourself and go the extra mile to make sure that club owners or promoters will book u regulary nd also to get booked at other clubs.its definately possible to make a career out of djing bt it can be risky and ofcourse ther are the other dj related careers u can get into while u djing at night such as running a dj school during the day etc mmmmm lol.

Question though, what and how does one push to get gigs, how do we "know the right people" and when is it ok to do a gig for less than your usual rate for "exposure" lol?
