The original Outward was released in 2019, not in 2022. That year they releaed a Definitive Edition, which is basically the base game with all DLCs, a minor face lift, bug fixes and QoL improvements.
The way I like to describe Outward to other people is that it's a game that will either make you quit and uninstall it within the first 3 hours or make you its slave despite being annoyingly frustrating and oftentimes just unfair. It's janky as hell, there is no fast travel or map marker telling you where you are (not without mods, at least), you literally have to _slowly walk_ across the map most of the time because you're saving stamina for fleeing from enemy encounters, and it's the best survival game I've ever played. Of course I'm waiting forward to play the second instalment
