Try 497.09, big improvement in Valhalla. My 3070 140W does 94 fps at 1080p and 75 fps at 1440p Ultra. With the newest drivers those numbers drop to 74 and 63 respectively, big let down.
From all the test I did, both drivers worked well I didn't noticed any problem with them, I was even surprised to see the old driver delivers more fps in certain games, but most of the time the new drivers are better and brings a lots of improvements and features even if the performance still the same or even less.

TL;DW Performance wise the differences are within the margin of error. ±5% difference. You should definitely not downgrade drivers because some game has 1 or 2 FPS more with the older version of the driver. In most cases you are better off installing the newest drivers because of compatibility with never games, bug fixes and general improvements. You should only EVER downgrade drivers if you are having some weird issues with the newer version. @@Jean-bs5ip Optimization for newer games is a big thing.. Just because there isn't an FPS difference between driver versions doesn't mean that things under the hood aren't working differently.. You can't measure how good a game runs just by one measurement (FPS). There's many thing happening that you don't know that make the game look smother and run better without you even noticing.. Maybe a driver update can improve power usage & temperatures or use less video memory because it can do something more efficiently or it can improve frame times and min FPS (variation in MIN FPS is much more noticeable than AVG FPS). Drivers can also fix graphical glitches, power spikes in certain areas of the game and not just add support for new games, but software as well (video & photo editing, upscaling, modeling, etc.) Often when you're having issues with a game or a program that is GPU dependent a driver update will fix it. You also mentioned features yourself. They are being added regularly in driver updates especially now with DLSS and Ray Tracing being added to old and new games which can make games run better and look better at the same time. @@Many_Mirrors I'm good thanks. You always here people complaining about new drivers not performing.
