Lovely painting. I love watching your painting videos. I watch your Instagram reels every day. Your paintings make me feel relaxed and happy! and I love your lovely voice! It feels so calm and relaxed just like your paintings.🥰🥰Thank you for making all these videos!
I love how this came out, it’s quite a stunning painting Katie. The colors are so vibrant and they all play well together, don’t you think? 😘. I so love watching you create and am envious of how easily it comes to you. Envious in a good way, always. Video was very well done and informative! Loved it. 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much! 🥰🧡 I'm so pleased with it and so glad you enjoyed it too 🥰 I have to say it feels like the palette did most of the work in this one as I just needed to let the colours shine! 😄
they're so much fun to paint with though! I splurged a while back on the art nouveau set and they are a lovely alternative to my windsor and newton cotman set
I wish there was a metal palette to clip these style of paints into. I really need a mixing palette with my watercolours and despite the box being pretty, it’s not practical. I’ve not tried this brand before but I have used other Japanese style paints before.
Oh yes, that would be perfect! Something a bit more practical to transport would definitely be ideal. Japanese style paints are so wonderful! Which brands do you have?
I have the Komorebi set by MozArt. Well, that’s not true, I donated them to the craft room in my day job at Hobbycraft. I much prefer either trad gouache or European style watercolours. But perhaps if I tried this set I’d change my mind? I had a small set of gansi tambi metallics but they rewetted poorly and again, I parted ways with them! Clearly that’s not an issue as your video shows with non-metallic ones.
@@sherrypeck4062 this is a great idea. Double sided tape would work too. I have also used hot glue gun (it isn't permanent but I like to easily pop them out and switch things around)
I bought an empty, fairly cheap metal watercolour palette from Jackson’s and you can fit a couple of Gansai Tambi pans into it. It’s not perfect but if you just have a couple of colours you want to take out then it works absolutely fine.
Such beautiful watercolours 😍 I only have one single pan that I got in an advent calendar. But the texture and colour is beautiful, so I'm definitely eying a bigger set. I love the pops of red you have been doing lately, it contrast your usual colour pallete so well 😄 Love the painting you created ❤️
Oooh that's such a good way to try new materials (or dangerous 🤣). Thank you so much, the pop of red has been such a lovely surprise in my art this month! 💖
@@KatieMoody Yes totally 😂 Red is usually not a colour I gravitate towards, I'm more into pink. But after seeing you use it lately I have been experimenting with some pops of red myself 😄
I’m in the US and have bought individual pans from the JetPens website for less than $3 each. I started out with a small gifted set of original colors then moved on to acquire the art nouveau set because I thought it was gorgeous. I just love these paints!
I bought this set or the next size up recently and wasn’t really sure how to use the paints. This was very helpful Katie and will hopefully use what I learned from you soon!! The paints came out beautifully ❤
@@KatieMoody ….. I tried them last night and I do like those paints! I’m just starting to learn watercolor painting and it is not easy! I wanted to give it a go so I could do more landscapes. So far I write “I hate watercolors” on the top of each painting I finish!😂. I love my acrylics, if I don’t like something, I just paint over it until I do!!
Katie, have you ever heard of the artist/shop- Studio of MM? She makes 3d printed items and has a 'tower' that's made specifically for the gansai tambi paint pans!!! Believe she's based here in the US. Check it out! ❤ Courtney
We can get them individually here in the US at John Neal Books. It has an online presence, too, but if I put that here, YT will probably hide my comment.
The colour names in English should be on the box lid, well they are with my set but maybe yours is different. They are fun sets to play with. I was thinking about grabbing their urban sketching kit from Jacksons but then realised it's just 6 pans in a box with a fineliner and waterbrush. I might do like you did and create my own set :)
I'd totally forgotten about the info on the lid - mine does have that too! Thanks for the reminder 😄 I love that you can buy them individually, it seems like such a great way to create a custom palette that you know you'll use every colour of!

Oh this has brightened my morning, thank you so very much! I'm so glad you enjoy them as much as I do making them 🥰🧡
Lovely! Love using Kuratake ❤
Thank you so much! I've fallen in love with them for sure, they're such fantastic quality!
I just love these vibrant colors! ❤
Aren't they just, Laura! They do most of the work for me 😆
Just such a great process with lovely results.
Thank you so much, Julie! 😊
That looks like such good quality watercolour. It's so vibrant! I love the set of three paintings together at the end :)
Thank you so much Sarah! It really is such good quality 😊 So glad you like the set of three too, I'm really pleased with them 🥰

noooo I don't need more paint, I can resist!! I've wanted kuretake paints for so long though 😭

Hahaha I'm not the right person to dissuade you, I love them! I reckon a few won't hurt 🤣
I received a small palette of Kuretake watercolor paints for Mother's Day. I love the paint! Different feel to it.
What a great gift!! They sure do, I love them much more than standard watercolour and am in awe of their opacity!

I buy magnetizes sticky tape and cut a square for the bottom of each plastic watercolor and place them in a metal watercolor tray or ANY tin tray….

Thank you so much for sharing this, Rachel! I'm so impressed with them too, I'd love to build a bigger collection eventually!
Me too, hopefully I’ll get to them tonight. Last week I tried out my Stabilio crayons. Those are fun!!
Such delicious colours you chose. I don’t think I could’ve been that ruthless
Aah thank you! I think it helps knowing I have a 'general' colour palette I tend to use for most of my paintings!
You read my mind😂I've been searching for more Kuratake painting videos❤
Oh what perfect timing! 😄

Thank you so much for this rec, Courtney! The palettes look like they work so perfectly - and may be a good excuse to buy some more single pans 🤣
Katie, you are so bad for my wallet :S That sky blue and yellow are great additions!
Hahaha my apologies 🤣 They are such lovely colours! 😄
great colors, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! 🥰
The colours are listed in English on the lid of the box. 504 is green gray.
Thanks Kama - I had totally forgotten about that little swatch space on the back of the lid!! Doh!
hello, can you give us an update of your top art supplies and colors?
Hello! Funnily enough I have it on my video planning list to film this week! It'll be up on Sunday 🥰💛
We can get them individually here in the US at John Neal Books. It has an online presence, too, but if I put that here, YT will probably hide my comment.
