I was very fortunate to test ride the ‘all new upgraded 2021’ Honda NC750X and give my honest first ride opinion.
(Thanks Honda) would highly recommend a test ride! What a great bike!!

I have this exact model and love it so far. This year in the States we get ABS with the 6 speed, where previously it was only available with the DCT model. The redesign only added $100 to the price, which is a great value. Power is good, but not overwhelming, and the single front disc is more than adequate for the type of riding you would typically do on this type of bike. Transmission is smooth and the ratio change gives more grunt in the lower 3 gears. Suspension is basic and the ride is compliant over a variety of road surfaces. I’ve installed a center stand, a rear hugger and a larger windscreen. Seat comfort is excellent and the riding position is upright and comfortable. I do get the DCT idea, but this bike is so easy to ride with the Slipper Clutch and smooth shifting transmission that I kept it Old School with the manual. Getting around 62 mph consistently from the 3.7 gal tank. Enjoyed the review and reinforced my decision to buy the NC 750x. The frunk with a top box makes a great daily commuter. Thanks again and a Merry Christmas to all!
Thanks glad you enjoyed the video! really is a cracking bike isn’t it. Great value and super comfortable to ride. Have a great Xmas and new year thanks again Jake.
Underestimate the NC750 at your peril. In my opinion the greatest all-rounder ever produced. 100mpg easily achievable, leaves most cars standing, cracking riding position, fantastic frunk, and the DCT, well it was made for this bike. If you commute, then this bike cannot be beaten...
It’s certainly a cracking bike this one! I was very impressed tbh. I’m also a massive lover of the Honda DCT gearbox and can only imagine what it would be like ride.
Got the DCT version plus loads of extras. Fantastic bike, practical, economical & comfortable. Only snag so far, dropped it (gently) in a car park (forced to park facing down towards a kerb) bent the left crash bar. Must be made of chocolate.
Great bikes and I do love the DCT gearbox silky smooth. Sorry to hear that you dropped it glad there wasn’t too much damage. Cheers Jake.
Thank you so much for the introduction, as the first NC750X-21 non-DCT review in the video
Your welcome Tony!
Really good review…..and a good example of defensive riding, politeness that makes for a safer enjoyable ride….I have the DCT version on order, hopefully will be with me in Jersey soon…thanks for sharing.
Thanks Karl your welcome!
Nice one Jake not sure on this one It's nice to look at from the front but I am not feelin it .Have not ridden it like you have but on first impressions in a showroom would I take any notice of it and I am thinking no probably not . Bit neutral really I am assuming there is no quick shifter on this one why would it need it I spose .Good review look forward to your new year exploits and nice to see ya had some sunshine if a bit chilly ,have a great winter break and remember don't eat to much cos replacing all yer gear is expensive this is what I am thinking going into it : D cheers
great review mate - thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks your welcome!
Have one same color to..but DCT...its perfekt...scary in the first.. but you get it after time...
Great bikes! Love the DCT
Had the nc 750 dct it had a stalling issue like quite a few of them in Europe and Asia .Honda totally did not address the issue .In the last few weeks Honda finally
Is recalling the bike .too late for me .A terrible situation fir the people that got hurt.
Peach of an engine just look st the torque figures....similar to 75bhp bikes just a shame cheaped out at £7500 and didn't fit ambient temperature gauge!!!
Must say I didn’t notice it not having an ambient temperature gauge Charlie.
This or the Versys 650?
Oh I’ve not tested the Versys yet, will have to jump on one.
@@RiderReviews Darn. Really love the frunk on this model, but I'm scared the low rev range would be uninteresting, and I can't test drive one on A2 license anywhere :/
Thanks for the reply btw, loved the video.
@@yellowsnowball3989 your welcome glad you enjoyed it!
That fangled speedo screen is great til it goes wrong and you realise you can't fit a mechanical speedo. The one on my bike is made by Acewell and it went phut. Because it was wired into the loom rather than with detachable connector blocks i couldn't fit a replacement. That bike now runs on a sat speedo that keeps losing signal. Superseding old school twin clocks was the worst thing EVER for bikes. Rant over. Thanks 4 reading.
Should hopefully be a very reliable display on this one Tom.
@@RiderReviews yeah fingers crossed.
Hmm, this intrigued me, so I looked on Fowlers parts and the meter is an individual item £715 though!
Where or who told you your info?
Buying the service manual sounds like a good idea.
@@mickleblade oh my bike is a 2015 jawa, not a Honda. Sorry for not making that clear. Anyhow my point still stands. You can get a brand new universal mechanical speedo for under £20. And as for all the other gadgets they put on bikes - what a load of cra*. Just more stuff to go wrong.
@@tombartram7384 aliexpress sells digital motorcycle dashes for not a lot of money too, they look really nice but I have no idea about connections. Cut the wires off the old meter and add your own connection.... I think your phone with GPS is a good option, there may even be a dedicated app for this, think of cycling
"DCT costs a little bit extra" = £1000
£830 extra according to Honda uk website. I’m a massive lover of the DCT gearbox tbh.
Yeah too much of a premium, at 7500 its a good buy at 8400 not so
