Thanks for the informative video. I'm getting ready to put in a new vanity from Ikea and converting to a double sink vanity. your excellent explanation and video of the connections shows me exactly what I need to do. taking out the old one, putting down new flooring and install a new vanity and wall cabinet.
We love them! We have IKEA floating vanities in our other home and they have held up perfectly with daily use (including a young by a young son) for 6 years.
Looks great. Love the clean modern look of your cabinets and fixtures. Floating cabinets look great and make cleaning much easier. I hope to follow your lead in a few years on my own ICF build.
Such a useful video! I am thinking of doing this myself and now I see that I can. My only comment would be, I'd have liked to have seen how you measured and marked the wall. I know it sounds really silly and simple but I tend to find that's the bit I am weak on but I'm sure I'll be fine, thanks for making this.
You will find a layout template with the instructions so that will help you once your purchase. You can also just build the unit and then measure where to hang when you test fit it on the wall. Best of luck! You got this!
How much space do you have from the wall to the back of the drawers for the p trap / flange? I’m looking at 4 inches without calling a plumber to shorten it. Is that enough room? Great video!
The IKEA saint comes with the plumbing flange that fits right up against the wall in the back of the cabinet. So you actually have full extension on the drawers.
@@LakeLotBuild I watched this video just for this reason. I read the IKEA manual and it does not include that part. Surely there must be a gap, the drawer can't just extend right next to the wall. So how large is this gap? I wished you had shown that in the video.
Great video, thank you! Just wondering how you transitioned from the ikea piping to North American. Your pipes are also white so maybe you’re using PVC that fits perfectly but I have black ABS pipe which doesn’t appear to be compatible with the white ikea pipe because the white is a bit smaller so loose in ABS fittings.
We purchased the cabinet from a North American IKEA, so the piping was appropriate for US standards. And you're right, we were using PVC pipe. Maybe you could find a transition fitting going from ABS to PVC.
Thanks for making this video. Super helpful.. Just wondering did IKEA discontinue this oak-colored Godmorgon vanity in the USA? I cant seem to find this color on IKEA website. Would you be able to share the link to the one you bought from IKEA?
Thank you! We are still working on it. We were waiting on two pantry cabinets that FINALLY arrived. Once we finish installing those, we will make a video to showcase the complete kitchen. Can't wait!
Honestly, we've remodeled three bathrooms with only IKEA and then built three new bathrooms with all IKEA. I wouldn't do anything else. We've been so happy with their products.
Here you go! Check out this LINDBYN from IKEA Here's a little more information: Mirror with storage, black, 15 3/4x27 1/2 " ingka.page.link/TjxCqgqQfjDeTKRX9

I originally started watching for the ICF but then saw these and thought mmm these would work well in some of our Airbnbs

Metric is far easier. We were so close to Metrification until Regan canceled the funding. Saved a few bucks and cost much much more in the long run.
what is the model name of the double sink? i have the same vanity and cant seem to find a sink like yours
Is it possible to install Ikea water trap with non-Ikea sink like Duravit?
So this vanity won't work for plumbing coming out the floor?

I'm trying to figure out how to get the drawers in place
Check the tabs. The back part of the drawer glide has metal tabs that stick up. Make sure the drawer slides into that.

Was the plumbing drain parts all from ikea?
Yes. Everything comes ready to go with all of the parts for the drain.
@@LakeLotBuild thank you so much. This just convinced me to go full ikea on my bathroom

Do you know if the top can be used with my existing vanity?
Maybe! You might look at the top dimensions and see if it would fit.
@@LakeLotBuild Yes thank you for responding.
Where do you get the plumbing
parts?
Everything you need actually come from Ikea when you get the cabinet.
"standard on one side and metric on the other". Metric is standard.
Well said!
