ALL YOUR VIDEO'S ARE AWESOME. EVERYONE INVOLVED.
DP loves his Crocs. That's for sure
It is refreshing to set up machines to match your particular operations. As refreshing as a perfectly chilled Pepsi Cola. Plus who’s a good doggie Maggie that’s who.
You guy's comedy routine with the o-rings had me laughing out loud - very entertaining! :)
Need a modern DP Video with DP, Captain Kleeman, NYA Millennial, MBTS, and Jerry! MAXIMUM COMEDY OVERLOAD!
You are, indeed, very fortunate.
2ridered2 indeed
Making the machines match is real good idea for operation and safety !!! Cool drone shots of the barge , curious to see if you come up with anyone that works on the barges to give you a closer look ! Thanks for the video!
Lee Steele so far not a lot of luck of anyone running the rivers. Fingers crossed though!
Good video.
Noticed DP is one top of his equipment , catches small issues before they become big ones. I'm sure he saves money in long run because there is less down time of because equipment problems. Like the humor in your videos. Even if you make mistakes, at least you're getting your hands dirty.
DeWayne Gaskin when you own your own equipment it doesn’t take long to see that down time is more expensive than preventive maintenance. He gets the big picture for sure. Thanks for watching!
I lost it when you lost the second o-ring😂 Sorry Captain
He twitched his hose and lost it😂 we know😂😂
Captain strikes again!
Always use protection with your hose! lol You guys have too much fun!
good video
ramtuff2007 thank you!
Mike is going to make you walk the plank.lol.
Anthony Young hahaha, it’s possible
Orings never stay put. As a handy trick, I always use Dow lubricant to make them stick to the intended area. Btw: dont EVER use Petro jelly as the oring will disintegrate. But Dow works great! Keep us laughing Captain. You got to have fun on the job. Cheers!
Keith L that’s a good tip sir! Thank you
Been using petroleum jelly for years. It's an insert product and it shouldn't harm anything. I use it alot. And when I'm at work, I use it even more.
Fun fact that may actually be true: the inventor of Vaseline ate a tablespoon of it every day.
@@timothyball3144 Sorry Timothy, but oil products will dissolve other oil products into goo. You can check with a quick google search that petroleum jelly is bad for rubber and latex orings. Only synthetic is safe.
Now ya got to add the light on the boom to match the 120
Lee Krauss he has some LEDs on order I believe!
You got lucky...... Ive gotten Upper case O rings before by accident....... throws a wrench in your whole day
Chris Helms its the worst, I mean its an honest mistake, But still. 😂
Two! I could see one but two. Oh man I'm disappointed. You are letting us firemen down. Ha ha
Ronald Davis hahaha, sorry sir
Had a good laugh at the "Lower case o ring" comment
Jeff White god you liked the joke! Are you on a trip right right now?
Yes sir, still down near New Orleans for this week. Hope to head up next week or so.
Jeff White well let me know! We will
Be in Vegas this coming week and then Gatlinurg after that. Hopefully it will time out alright.
You two guys are great fun to watch, the way you bounce off each other, and no foul language ! Which seems to be creeping into certain channels.👍👍🇬🇧
Ronald Davies we enjoy working together. No question about it. Catch ya on the next one!
If a fella were to send the good Captain a bag of Butter Finger candy bars, would it be best to send it to the care of Mr. Perfect?
raylz19 although insulted at the joke....man do I enjoy butterfingers 😂😂
The oring goes in the groove in the fitting. Not on the flat of the hose end.
Joe Murray that’s correct.
It is nice when an owner cares about their equipment. I'm like that also. Also nice when an employee appreciates that too!
MrEdelong understanding both sides of the looking glass helps a lot. Thanks for watching!
I have to flip my thumb cylinder around tomorrow because I ripped fitting of last week and put it on backwards
Geo Bert what were you doing when that happened? We have bent some when clearing land before.
@@CaptainKleeman demo a old barn. It was negative 10 f out so a board hit I and it was very britel broke the hydro fitting right off. I dident realize I put it on the wrong way till I sat in the seat today
Yeah!that rowboat was CROUNSE CORPORATION (CC) should be a M/V and name
DAVID MORRIS I was told today you can google their names and it gives the boats stats. I’m gonna have to start doing that!
It's always great to see a responsible owner, instead of it's broke fix it! You guys work so good together!!
Tony Peters lots of years together, knowing how to laugh helps a lot. Thanks for watching!
You and DP working together reminds me a lot of when I worked with my best friend and brings back many fond memories! It is also great when the owner cares about the equipment and even better when the operators share that same level of caring. Keep up the good work, love the videos and never lose the sense of humor!
How many O-rings? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like the hole gang logger wade/STEVIE billow/ dirt perfect/CAPTAIN kleemen. BUT I GOT WHERE I WATCH YOU AND DP MORE BECAUSE THE DIRT PERFECT AND CAPTAIN DIRT DO REPLY BACK. I KNOW IT'S HARD SOMETIMES. BUT I'M STILL WATCH EVERYONE. BIG THANKS CAPTAIN😀🚒🚢🔧😁
Terry Reynolds hey and we are all glad you’re tagging along with us!
If you type the name of a barge into the internet you can get the statistics on that barge even location at the time
Terry O'Leary is this real life? I’m trying it on the next one I see tomorrow. You have made my day sir!
Making both machines the same controls only makes since. Gotta have your morning coffee to get the day started. Keep up the great videos
Kenny Mysak hey thanks for watching!
Cool watching that tow boat come around that bend he was flanking
Rickey P it’s a stiff current coming out of that bend for sure. Thanks for watching!
love the vids of ohio the reason that tow was going sideways is there is a lot of current on that derby bend have seen more than one almost get sucked inti bank please don,t scratch up you,re new toy
Charlie Tanner that’s right! It’s a hard turn. And the wind comes down the straight stretch hard. I’ve seen plenty back up and re align on a windy day. You run the river?
@@CaptainKleeman no i just spend a lotb of time in derby seen one tug almost take out anchor point boat dock
Charlie Tanner mike and I have done a lot of boat dock repairs over the years from barges in high water. But Most times the barge company ended up paying for it.
I watched with anticipation when you lost the first o-ring to see if you would do it again, and you did not disappoint. Lol
David Fisher I’m
Not one to disappoint! Thanks for watching
That's cool you guys are getting the controls to feel like the ole 120.
Jodi Miller I agree! Helps keep the operating smooth! Thanks for watchin’
You have to put the oring on the fitting not put in the hose. That hose is going to leak like hell.
Dans lawn care correct sir.
It's hard to tell from the video, but how large are those containers on the barge? Any idea?
J C each the most common cargo barges are around 200’ by 35’, and most tows on the Ohio are 15 barge tows. The locks they have to go through are 1200’ long; and they fill the entire lock.
Unralated to the Volvo but could you please fix that Righthand Brakelight on the Dump Truck?
I noticed it out in December on Dirt Perfect's Channel, before she was in the Shop
Robert Draper well I’ll see what we can do. No guarantees though.
@@CaptainKleeman LOL, Okay
You two make a great team working together, reminds me of Laural & Hardy a comedy team from the 40's to 60's LOL Please do more drone shots over the river !!
There ya go lowering the deck with the bucket! 🤔 Cool jams
Dirt Boss Tri-County Masonry & Excavating doing it like a boss..like a dirt boss! 😂.
@@CaptainKleeman Hahahaha nice!
Nice to see an employer and employee work so well together.
Kirk Wilson lots of years on different jobs together. Thanks for watching!
Many houses burn down when you run over the hose?
Gordy House I think your confused on how a fire ground works
who said swapping the control wires would have been easier?
Hi captain , another job done lol those hoses should always come with Extra's , specially when you're outside losing one's guaranteed 😕 and those river shots are truely awesome. Thanks for sharing 👍👍😀🇨🇦 Craig
Craig MacDonald I agree with the extra o-rings 😂. Thanks for watching!
See. Now I understand the comment from a different video that thumb worked backwards.
It makes complete sense to want one machine to operate the same as the other one.
I tell you though. Those lower case o rings are tricky little booger’s. Mike needs to step up his game and spring for Upper case O rings. They’re more mature and stable and don’t fly away so easily.
Wayne Crews exactly. The real problem is when we accidentally buy the italic ones. Oof. Won’t make that mistake again.
Kleenman I'm telling you. Have you noticed yet when your around things just go wrong. Lol God bless
Kleenman said you said nothing about it needing to work Mike. Lol God bless
I've found when working with stiff hydraulic lines it's always better to put the most difficult end in first. Then you've got it made after that's done... lol
teebugg66 expert on stiff hose are ya? 😂
Captain I'm no fireman but I've held one or two...
teebugg66 good on ya for a sense of humor. 😂
Captain Kleeman 😂
Need carry you tube of grease to hold them in place. Plus use viton o rings last a lot longer and are chemical resistant.
That looks like an ORFS on the hose and the o-ring goes in the male fitting not the female.
Dennys videos that’s correct. There is a channel in the female side the o ring sits in. Did ya know it leaked when I started it because at the time I did not know that? I try to learn something everyday. Mission accomplished there. Thanks for watching and thanks for looking out!
@@CaptainKleeman You arre welcome - I try to help when I can as we all have different skills and experience.
If you keep this up your going too be having a new name Captain Fumble Nuts. Love the drone fly-overs.
barry hansen now that is not near as catchy.
I had a Volvo 140 from the early 70's and it topped 90 mph. lol
Making it Happend I think we had different types of Volvo’s 😂
@@CaptainKleeman It may be true. Mine had 75 horses.
The problem all started when you asked Kleenman to fix it. Just saying one would think you would have learned by now Mike. Lol God bless
Capt did you put that o ring in the groove on the steel pipe before you put the hose on ?
J.B. Maxwell well I did the second time...
J.B. Maxwell hello sir! I have a segment coming up on the next video talking about the o rings being put in wrong. It will make sense if you watch it, but, I’m not talking about you, you were helpful and polite in the manner you told me I put the o ring in wrong. And I wanted to say thanks for that, however a couple guys weren’t so I wanted to have a little fun with them. Anywho. Hope you’re having a good day.
Captain Kleeman go for it I’m happy that you learnt something and didn’t cause any injuries to yourself ,hydraulic oil injuries are very bad and painful and can happen so easily , simply by not installing an o ring correctly I know been there done that, keep well and enjoy
Have a great week captain
mrbakerskatz you as well sir!
Always good video 👍
Richard Hedrick thank you sir!
You guys make great videos together,
U ra KnobGobbler we like to have fun. That’s for sure. Thanks for watching!
Not bad for Laurel and Hardy lol, great job!
Man With A Plan 😂 thanks for watching!
That was a sweet video and those mudflaps on the dump truck pretty dang America have a good day bud
Nick Popelka thanks for watching and always commenting! Have an awesome day.
OMG, I'm so happy that I'm not the only one that drops stuff like that all the time.... lol I live about 5 miles from the northern most point of the Ohio River and about 45 miles from the point in Pittsburgh were the Ohio River forms, I'll drop a note in a bottle, keep an eye out for it would ya?
Badgermatt75 2016 hey we have a another subscriber up that way as well! You just let me know when you set that bottle a sail!
i can see you loosing one but two man that was fnny
Earl's Life life is fickle sometimes 😂
At least the truck wasn't empty, there was H2O and sail boat fuel in the bed!
A total water haul! lol
Good Morning Captain and Crew!
Steven De Gonia good morning to you as well! Loads of sailboat fuels just don’t pay what they used to 😂
Never seen a oring installed like that ,can’t imagine it went in the grove.
Timber Tom you would be correct, but the second time around....well that’s when I learned about the groove...live and learn.
lol I was thinking the same thing.
Great video Captain “ THUMBS UP” 😂👍🇺🇸
D C thank you sir!
Nice job!
Lenne Longe thank you sir!
i watch with the anticipation captain kleeman is going to break some thing lol. mirrors wheels o rings .
Joe Southern the list gets longer doesn’t it? 😂
I think I need to fix the sound on my phone. I didn't hear you clearly when you said bucket list. My first thought was this is supposed to be a family friendly channel.
Timothy Ball 😂😂. Oh no. Touch and go there huh?
Check out the youtube channel "Marktwained". He is a towboat captain that does a lot of explaining the processes of piloting a towboat. Tell him Tbirdracefan sent you, he wont have a clue!
I'm thinking that the next time you guys do a project like this, Mike will leave two spare "O" rings for ya. 🤔😊😂
Bruce Tracy hahaha, possible!
@@CaptainKleeman and you'll probably lose both of em Cap lol
I've never stayed at Laconte Lodge but I spent the first 25 years of my life just over on the North Carolina side of the Smokies not far from the park border. I have family living in Sevier County.
Papaw that’s beautiful country there! My wife and I have been looking at a place called gem river maybe? That name might not be right. But supposedly you can pan for gems in the river. Instead of the tourist gem mining we pay for every time with the kids.
@@CaptainKleeman I don't know of a Gem River. There is a Nantahala River Gem Mine that has whitewater canoeing and kayaking along with gem mining but it is a tourist place too. There are real gems found in the area. Corundum especially. Rubies, sapphires and aquamarine are found along the Little Tennessee River in Macon County. They have "gem mines" too but there is plenty of public land where a person can go prospecting on his own.
As a matter of fact I own a mine. It is an old played out mica mine. We used to find garnets and tiny rubies in it. It is all grown up now.
I would say your were correct in thanking those were empty coal barges. I used to run the Ohio all the time but now I primarily go from st louis to st Paul.
The river rat what company do you run for?
@@CaptainKleeman I work for acbl I ride the mv kenny eads
The river rat if you ever make it on the Ohio again give me a shout and I’ll try and get a good drone photo for ya!
Just curious because I've never been around barges but is it cheaper to ship by barge than it is by rail? Seems like the barges are only loaded one way then empty on the return where rail is generally l poo aced both ways.
Clyde Acor donut spends on the cargo and the company. But some will
Ship loaded each way depending on cargo. Also, and I’ll try to catch it on camera sometimes, they will switch tugs on certain tows. And then they will build and break barges at different points along the river as well. Say it’s a 15 barge tow, they may go from Pittsburg to New Orleans, but it could
Be a completely different tow when they get there as they break and build down the river. I’ll try and explain better on some up coming videos. Excellent question!
@@CaptainKleeman ok that'd be great. Ya the other reason I thought they returned empty was because with that many barges maybe it'd be too much weight to go up stream and fight the current with one tugboat. I'm in the Pacific northwest so everything around here is either by rail or truck until you get to the coast in the sea ports.
@@clydeacor1911 There's a little bit of barge traffic on the Columbia. Not much, but a little.
Clyde Acor alrighty, so according to what I could find it’s about 54% cheaper than rail and 90% cheaper than truck. A 15 barge tow is a little over 22,500 tons of coal which would be comparable to 1,000 coal trucks. A lot of fuel goes up and down the river as well.
@@timothyball3144 Ya we have barges in Lewiston Idaho that haul grain to the Pacific coast.
Wait,...did you say the controls are the same as the 120?
Why would you do that?😁
Great video . Mike runs his business much like I run mine. I like to make things as easy as I can.
Stay safe.
Cb Boggs exactly! The easier we can make it on our selves the better. I guess I need to ask what kind of business you run?
@@CaptainKleeman Hi, I run a small excavating business similar to Mike. Mostly commercial and agricultural (cranberry) work. Bog renovation and pond construction.
Big difference is I don't do residential. Homeowners are the worst, they don't understand what cost are . And I don't work for builders. The mentality is they are the only one entitled to a profit. Plus, builders want you to bid the job for nothing and then not pay you. I'll stay home ,it's cheaper.
Always enjoy your video, oh by the way, I think if you and Mike was working.
In the shop you might not have the o ring lol, just had to throw that in.
Earl Sebastian thanks for watching!
Don't the o-rings go in groove on the male fitting not the female on o-ring face seal fittings? I hate those. Give me JIC fittings any day. If a JIC starts leaking it can usually be tightened. If an ORFS fitting leaks, the o-ring has to be replaced.
Tired old mechanic yep yep. Goes in the groove....but I didn’t realize that until it leaked and I had to pull it off and redo it...learned something! Good eye though!
You are right about being able to tighten JIC fittings, but ORFS are rated to a higher pressure. Also, I have found that I can get ORFS threads started easier than JIC because the nut moves around more when it's loose. This is especially helpful in awkward places where it's difficult to get everything lined up straight.
Tired old mechanic hey I have a small clip in the next video talking about the O rings, just know I’m not talking about you...it will make sense if you watch it lol. I just wanted to say thanks for being polite about the way you Informed me I messed up. A few guys were rude and I wanted to have a little fun with them
Let me know when you are back down on the river with the drone. I will stand on the other side of the river and wave to you! lol.
S.O.T. Metalworks challenge accepted!
WHAT!!!!!! we havent even seen a video of the new volvo yet and it's already in need of repairs lol

Nice to see mike sharing Volvo time with you. But I was really expecting to here your best Swedish chef voice when you were testing the thumb. Might need to increase the speed a bit for accurate emulation, guess you need to do that in the post production. Thanks again for sharing your adventures, play safe.

Is a voice that is frequent around the house! 😂
Captain Kleeman
FYI not sure if I’d want a production house built by this guy but you have to respect the can do work ethic of his high wire skills. One of the first of his videos I watched was him framing a house solo in sub zero high winds.
He also has a video showing how to build a fast picnic table.
