It took me 2 weeks, coz came across try & error including many times undoing the stitches as I am not an expert. But after completing 1 side, I feel more confident to do the 2nd side. If we make 7 sc after the decrease, and then add 3 more sc to start row three, then shouldn’t row three have 10 sc on either side of the decrease? Thank you for making the video :)
@@annabrakeboer4472 so I figured it out, after many attempts and even drawing out the pattern, hopefully this makes sense: the pattern is not “symmetrical” when it comes to skipping stitches for the decrease, as you always want the same number of stitches in the middle (20); on the first pass, or the first “half” of the row, you see the person in the video skip a stitch for the decrease - the first decrease, you’ll clearly see the stitch to skip in between the 9 single crochets (or whatever number that row calls for) and the stick marker for the previous row, but after you do the 20 single crochets for the body, the very next stitch will have the marker in it, *and that’s okay* - rather than worry that you did an extra stitch since there isn’t that obvious skip stitch that I mentioned for the first decrease, just skip the stitch with three marker in it; then everything should add up to 9 when you complete the first “half” of the row and then go back for the second pass
Also, another tip not readily apparent in the video (due to the angle of the video): when you start single crocheting in the chain, only make the sc into one loop of the slip stitch you’re working into - then, when you complete row one on the second pass back, you’ll have two loops available: one to make that weird sc in, and the other free for purse assembly; I made complete a whole purse side without realizing that I had no loops to assemble the bag with :-)

We can use any yarn that we prefer. Thin yarn = results will be small so you will need to make more stitches ( long time to finish but beautiful) Thick yarn = results will be big so you will need to make less stitches ( Fast to finish but not as beautiful as thin yarn) You can use 4ply and 8ply to compare which one do you like. For me I like 4 ply cotton yarn. :)
