This 2004 set of plushes has become very collectible and highly demanded over the years. In this video I tell you everything you need to know about this set. When I was younger I loved the Mario series and I used to buy Mario plushes off eBay all the time. I didn’t even know bootlegs or unofficial plushes were a thing at the time, I just wanted to have a huge variety of Mario plushes. I own bootlegs of all of these Mario party plushes and I just thought that was kind of funny and it shows how common the bootlegs are

I like how Mario and Luigi’s hats can come off and his overalls cause it adds a little bit of playability with the plushes

i think theyre cute because of the proportions, theyre like little chibi babies. i dont have any of these plushies but they have that look of something from an older era in gaming where things just looked different. as much as i love plushies that are hyperaccurate, sometimes things that are older and look it are just better

I kinda like the slightly softer look to this Luigi. There's a charm to it lost in the 'tighter' later releases
I own both Mario and Luigi and they're my favorites that I own. They're flawed, and the newer releases from San-ei are objectively better, but they also have a certain charm to them that the newer releases lack. Great video btw!

I recently got a small Mario. Toad and small Yoshi also came with it.
I remember owning a few of these when I was younger, especially a few green Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Bowser and Luigi! I actually think I own the massive Yoshi from this set still because I hate throwing out Yoshi plushes. I really need to check my storage if I still have the others resting somewhere.

The peach plush is probably the best peach plush ever, i think people always make her eyebrows a little too big on plushes, which makes her kinda... i don't wanna say bad, but rather not that cute.
For the nose, well i can admit it'd have been better if it had it, but i still think she's the cutest character in the set, which is pretty much the whole point of the set: looking cute (which i assume is the stylistic choice for the set seeing as all the character look a little more cute).
Well i mean she is still the cutest mario character so i guess they couldn't mess it up that bad.
My only problem with the plush is the lips, they look kinda weird.
I finally learned what set they were finally. I've watched SML since I was 4 and I NEVER could find these versions and finally I find what they are. I won't buy them, but at least I know.

The easy way to spot a bootleg mario plushies I think the only mario party 5 plushies to bootlegged multiple times and still is are yoshi peach and bowser if the mario party 5 yoshi is bundled with recolored yoshis it's bootleg if peach has the ugly daisy and rosalina bootlegs or maybe hard to tell it's official it's bootleg it is really hard to find the official mario party 5 bowser plush even the little buddy bowser jr plush you'll definitely get a crappy chinese knockoff bowser if you're under 5 and 7 to just get a bowser plush especially the ones bundled with bowser jr and don't get the plushies that has a grass outside background(with a super mario 64 logo) or a stock image please don't get mario plushies that has the cheapest cost that are 5$ or 10$ it has to be under 20$
They even slap the mario party 5 tag on the bootleg plushies

I was given a very similar peach plush when I was about 7-8!
Me and my family were at an arcade with a bowling alley, and I was very stupid and crawled up behind my mum before she swung the ball.. needless to say there was a bit of blood and a lot of screaming. There was a lovely lady working over at the arcade part who heard me screaming and crying and she got me an ice pack, and once I had calmed down a little, she took me over to the claw machines and said “you can choose one if you’d like!”
And that’s the story of how I got my first ever video game merchandise. A tooth in exchange for a peach.

The only plushes SML has from this set is Bowser and MAYBE toad. Nothing else. The Mario SML has is the 2008 Mario displayed in the video, and his Luigi is the stupid and cheap Kellytoy one. He actually has no other plushes in the set.

I knew someone who has the bowser plush, but they treated it very poorly. It's eyebrows were missing, most of the bracelets (?) on his arms and legs were torn off, and I'm pretty sure it was missing one of the spikes on its shell.

I remember how once I went to my uncles house and in the trash at the front of his house there was a Mario party yoshi plush in the bin so I took it out of the bin and asked my uncle if I could have it and he said yes
At the time I had no idea who yoshi was I just wanted the plush because he looked cute
But that was back in 2010 so I was like 5 years old I still have the yoshi to this day and I eventually found the Mario party and Luigi party plushes in my grandmas garage and I still have all three of them because they are very special to me..

Y'know,since the topic of plush adventures were brought up,I remembered something I found.
I was looking at some other channel,I can't remember which,but they were subscribed to someone else.I found this series called "Path of the Psycho" where a ludwig plush went insane and like..Darth Vader talked to him n shit?I never finished it,but it was genuinely pretty damn good and thank you for reminding me.
I used to own the Peach plush found it in my local thrift store and was so confused why she looked like a weird baby the little loop tag on the body was in Japanese and made me buy it outta curiosity years later I grew old of it and gave it to some cousins now kinda wished I kept it for collector reasons.

I wanted the luigi of this set from watching the Cute Mario Bros. and seeing that its hat and overalls are easily removed. I bought the sanei "Super Mario" Mario and Luigi plushes at an fye in port huron, thinking they were the ones used in sml and cmb, but after seeing the flaws in them from this video, I think I'm glad I bought them instead. For one, these are (mostly) WAAAY too expensive. And that type of price for a mediocre plush? No thanks.
If the Mario Party plushes were still like $10-15, then I'd say either or would be good, but yeah nowadays just still to the more recent Sanei Mario plushes. They're better in nearly every way and are way easier to find.

I have a Luigi that I got from Nintendo World around 2007. It's in pretty rough shape now, but it's still interesting to know that what I got ended up being rare eventually.
The Mario party 5 yoshi is so cute I wanted one so bad! I like it the best out of any yoshi plushies that were ever made in world history!! 😊 but Any ways this is a good video I think this video can be kinda helpful to some people! Great work too.

Ummm... this video just made me realize that I bought a Yoshi from this set as a little girl from an import shop for $20. He’s been through a lot with me honestly. He was my first yoshi plush and I still love him. I used to put doll’s backpacks on him cause they fit.
And just for clarity he’s not for sale, besides he’s a little dirty and he never had a tag so he wouldn’t be great for collectors anyways. But he’s great to me.
I’m gonna be honest, that was probably my favourite thing to do as a kid. Giving plushies different clothing from other things was the coolest since you’ve never seen those characters wear different clothing or different hats.
If you make Mario plush videos and have one of these plushes, and for whatever reason, you want to throw it into a bath/pool, use a “stunt double”. A Mario plush stunt double is a different plush that looks extremely similar to the real plush, but is different, so you can damage the stunt double, and not the real plush

I knew about the Sunshine set with Yoshi, but I thought it wasn't made by San-ei. BTW, the Super Mario plush set was made in 2009. Also, some MP5 Marios look different. I was the one who got the Luigi up to $366, I didn't pay for it, and there was a less expensive option the next day. I wasn't inspired by MM8989 to get that Luigi, in fact, I actually watched MM8989 for a while, and I heard that the Luigi was rare, so I wanted to get it. Also, there are some specific plushes that I don't like, such as DK and Wario, you missed a detail on DK, his head looks less detailed than the newer 2009 DK plush, and the All-Star DK.
There are a couple of Sunshine sets. One by SEGA Prize that has characters like a Noki, a Pianta and Mario, a set by Sanei that has at least Mario and Yoshi (idk if it has other characters), and then another set with magnets in them. As for the Super Mario set releasing in 2009, whoops lol.
If another Luigi didn't show up, were you actually going to pay $366 for it. Cause that Luigi wasn't even in that good condition, so it would have been a complete ripoff (there are old 90s rare UFO plushes that go for less than that).
PatMac I was going to pay $188 myself, and borrow another $188. That was a ripoff though, as I saw one in better condition the next day for about 12X less the price (it wasn't on eBay, it was on a YJA proxy). I do really like the designs of the MP5 Luigi and Mario though, actually more than the new All Star Collection, IMO, the 2009 set was superior to the All-Star Collection if we're just talking about Mario and Luigi.
I don't have any of the All Star Collection, so I wouldn't really be able to tell. I'd personally only pay $50 max for any MP5 plush, so rip me getting them I guess. I just have other rare plushes I'd rather get. Also, you know how to use proxies? Do you have a guide on it or something that I could follow cause I'm very interested in getting into it.
PatMac I've been using multiple proxies over the last year, first, I was using Rinkya for YJA, but they kept rejecting my account, so I stopped using Rinkya. I then used Buyee which was actually on the YJA website. I also used FromJapan.co.jp for YJA and Amazon Japan, I use Jauce right now, because I don't need to translate English to Japanese to look for stuff. I heard FromJapan.co.jp has the least expensive shipping so I could save money for something else, most people go with Rinkya, but trust me, Rinkya sucks, I wasn't even able to successfully get anything from Rinkya. As for Buyee, they're good, their service is MUCH better than Rinkya's, as I was able to get my MP5 Bowser from there, but they're not the least expensive option, and using other proxies saves you a lot of time, because you have to translate everything on there (as long as you don't know Japanese). I've only used FromJapan.co.jp for one purchase, which was on Amazon Japan for my Mario, and Jauce is what I currently use. I definitely don't recommend using Rinkya, I'd say use either Jauce or FromJapan.co.jp if there is anything you want from Amazon Japan or websites other than YJA. Whatever option you choose, it's still easier to hunt for rare stuff on YJA than eBay, what are the chances of somebody picking up an SMRPG Mallow and saying "Yeah, it feels good, but I don't need it, I'll just sell it for $17" and selling it on eBay?

I have the Toad one as well, and even Bowser. I got them as a gift and I've had them for a very long time. They are both very worn and almost ruined. Toad's shoes and hands are barely still attached
As for the rest of the characters, I have the super mario line editions of all of them except for my Yoshi plush which is from a different brand
And I also have this bootleg Diddy Kong plush (I'm not sure if it's a fake of a specific plush.) His hat says "ninlendo" and I should probably do research on that
Oh, and one last thing about the Bowser plush. Something looks off about his mouth. But everything else is SPOT ON. Could just be an error, a different release, or maybe a bootleg. Idk
I own Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi from this set. However, the tags are gone and Mario's cap is slightly removed and the overalls can be taken off. They didn't sow underwear or hair where the cap stays, so it just looks like a half-naked middle-aged Mario. Lol
The way that you can genuinely tell in his voice that he’s upset with the Mario Party Mario
