My gears slip on my aluminum one I’ve had it for like a year now, is there a way to fix it? Or can I go to Home Depot and use my life time warranty and get a replacement?
Its junk, I’ve opened both plastic and aluminum, both have plastic gear, “technically” you could buy a new plastic one and swap out the plastic gears and housing with the aluminum one. but at the end of the day its junk. all my coworkers bought the Milwaukee chalk lines and they all skip gears grinding ⚙️when reeling it back in, makes you look bad at work.
Was just watching Mark Fox and he had a tool haul with some OEM tools ratchets. He says they are the same ratchets as the autozone 36 tooth’s but with a satin finish. Would be pretty cool to get your opinion of them
Milwaukee lines work great if ur not using every day like a layout guy but the best line is the big dewalt 6:1 line its the best line i ever used to date and all i do is layout jobs in nyc all day everyday.
I like that Irwin has that nice point on the end so it can double as a plumb bob. Extra fancy. :)

I see you've been channeling your inner AvE with your Skil lately 😂
Bro I bought one today and noticed once I filled it with chalk the lines become to thick and I cut off about 10 ft of line and it works cherry now.

I’m surprised I have lots of their tools cordless. They work real good. Thank you for the video.
I crank it so hard the metal clip hits my hand and ouch! 😬. But now it’s jammed. ..
Junk... brand new filled with chalk, did not overfill… Constantly skips when reeling it in… But it does make a nice line
I just threw mine out, did that exact same thing since day one
So all Milwaukee products are in general good quality?
Absolutely! Now I can't speak for all of them, but all the ones I've used sure are!
@@NKWoodworks What about their rubber overmold, does it feels like like makita or dewalt rubber or its crap like hitachi (hikoki or whatever)?
Someone needs to make aftermarket metal gears….and it will last longer
Wheel reinvention can work but rarely does.
Don't you mean "Reel" reinvention... 🙂

Ha Ha HA!! I suppose so.
Modern chalk tells you how permanent the chalk is in regard to surfaces...it ranges from 1 to 5 1 being easily cleanable 5 being pretty much permanent
Thank you !!!
u cant buy the grandpa lines anymore lol
Pretty confident negative review for someone who hasn't actually used the product ( as of this video posting )
