    Love the idea about holding half way then snapping. I am not only a woodworker but a quilter also. We quilters have a chalkline chalk that just brushes off. It comes in pink, blue & white. I bought empty chalk line cases & filled my own with the quilters chalk. The actual quilters chalkline case was just too lightweight. The blue & pink work great on drywall and wood also. Thank you for another great video. This girl learns something new every time I watch!

    I actually needed these basic foundations! If you're open to suggestions please also do how to drill straight for dowels, patchwork on walls, painting without streaks, ensure 90degree angles for joining and and how to affix shelves to wall.

    Thanks! I wasn't aware of the different colors or how to snap an especially long line. But, as a retired video pro, I really want to compliment the camera person. Good audio and white balance. Well lit. And very good shots, going from wides to close-ups at the appropriate times.

    Thank you of all the videos I watched tonight. Yours was the onlyone who informed me of the most simplest thing you have to measure from the base to where you want the nail on both sides and then draw the line across

    Love the half way snap! I think trying to snap a 20’ distance in middle was causing two lines to show up because of how high I was lifting it.

    You can also knock a nail at the end then wrap the line around it a few times to keep it taut the end of the chalk line also has a clip which can be used as shown, but it normally has a hole it in that you can peg with a nail too. thanks and blessings.

    if your roofing alone and snaping a 60 or 100 ft run can you tie it off on a nail and go snap middle? or can you tie a dry line with no chalk instead and mark the middle, and maybe other two middles you created there too then go back with chalk line and snap it in two or 4 diff sections?

    Thanks. I think I’m going to add a red line to my toolbox so I can make quick lines for a lone cut. If I use blue, my circular saw blows the chalk away.

    You're very informative, and easy to understand. However, I have a suggestion: I'm a retired college educator and a public speaker. I find that when I talk to any kind of audience, I need have some expression on my face. I smile, and express an interest in my viewers. My face has expression, as though I were having a conversation with someone. I think if you did that, you would add more of a personality to your videos.

    so you cant even snap a 20 foot line without holding it in the middle? theres gotta be a way you can do it yourself, what if you were snaping 60 foot lines on a roof?

    • @HouseImprovements
      @HouseImprovements  8 месяцев назад

      Well 20' may be a bit of exaggeration , but after about 40 ' if you can't pull it tight enough or your string is not great you will likely need to pinch mid span
