    I just picked up a couple of these. I'll be trying my first hot cube in a couple of days.

    I no-chill in stainless. I replaced the gaskets in my milk can still with O-ring and a silicone tri-clover seal. In a day or so, it is ready. I have kept wort for over a month. When you open it (and pry off the cap), its like opening a 3 gallon can of Campbell's Soup. (I brew 2.5 gallon batches)...

      Awesome, I've thought about going straight into my stainless fermenter, but havent tried it yet! One day maybe, your setup sounds great, Cheers mate!

      @@HomeBrewNetwork A side note - I ferment in a 5 gallon corny with a short dip tube. You can't no-chill in a corney, because the seals will not prevent air from entering when it makes vacuum. SO, I chill in the pot still, then pour it from waist high into the corney (for oxygen), and put under 10 PSI CO2). I use a spunding valve to keep it under pressure. I brew clean lager in a week at 90 degrees F (in the summer - in my kitchen). The only time the wort is exposed is when I aerate it. I am thinking about making a sterile transfer cap, but I hate goofing around with bottled oxygen and air stones. Cheers!!!

      Agreed, I hate airstones I used to use one and it was always a pain and a worry, Cheers!

    Does Kegland ship to the US? The only country in the drop down list when adding shipping location is Australia 😐 Really want one of those cubes. I've been using a aquatainer.

      I got this one from Amazon. www.amazon.com/5-Gallon-Plastic-Hedpack-cap/dp/B0064O8OYK/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=hedpak&qid=1556199920&s=gateway&sr=8-1

    man - that looks way better than the one I got from my LHBS. More like a plastic jerry can. No matter what I do, I can't get an angle on it where the hole is the highest point in the pour and it sucks air back in. Also is pretty thin (was worried it was going to break. Might give these a spin once I'm up and running properly. Cheers!

      I wouldnt worry too much about air Stass, I've seen prize winning beers in half full ones. Of course the less there is the less risk of infection but if its only a couple of litres it will be fine if the wort is very hot when transferred. Or you just saying your not getting the volume you want? Cheers

    • @StassBrewing
      @StassBrewing 5 лет назад

      Nah that's not what I mean, more when pouring it out into the fermenter it splashes everywhere as the air can't replace the volume being poured out (think I explained it the opposite way.. ☺️

      I got one from my local hardware store, wasn't cheap (unlike the bastards that run the store). Measured and marked water by weight and it holds 29 litres. Good size for a corny n 3-4 6packs. Got a bunnings one for when I do double brew days. I tapped mine because I was using them to measure water accurately and to keep the sediment out of the fermenter, then I realised that sediment didn't need to be kept out so it all goes in now for more volume as I was losing about 3-5 litres each batch because of it.
      Good video gash
      Cheers
