So happy that you are proud of Taiwan even though you are not Taiwanese. The best example of the phrase “Taiwan will touch your heart!” I do feel so touched whenever I visit these aborigines places, just as you did.
Of course the international residents living in Taiwan should be proud to be a member of Taiwan. All of you contributed to Taiwan and we thank you all for building up this society together with us.

I would like to say the National Pride within Taiwanese people are very deeply ingrained - It is born out of our identity and recognition of this land and community that made us - and not the other way around. We are part of it, and we are appreciative of it. We want to protect it and promote it, through our manners and behaviours, and hopefully showing it off through our achievements. And if you feel at anytime some appreciation to this land and its people, then as a foreigner you may share our pride - and be proud to be a part that makes this work, as a great contributor! You may be British by birth but you are a great part of Taiwan's culture, many people appreciate you and also very proud of your videos - your action is louder than any words of recognition!

Me a Taiwanese living in Britain for 12 yrs is very proud of being a British as Britain has given me many opportunities career wise and I love NHS. I like your expression, humble pride. By educating Taiwanese children you are contributing to the betterment of society. Everyone in Taiwan who contributes is entitled to feel pride in Taiwan’s achievements.

I think this is a very good question to ask. As a Han Taiwanese, I am also a "foreigner" to the aboriginal people. I also have questioned myself whether I can claim the aboriginal culture part of "my culture". From my point of view, as an outsider, we can all honor and respect others' cultures. And if the culture (Taiwanese or aborigines) is part of ourselves, we can definitely take pride in it. I think the real tricky part is about taking "ownership" of a culture. So for you to share Taiwan's pride with respect is definitely appreciated by Taiwanese. You are 正港台灣的男子漢
You lived in Taiwan for a decade, took the effort to learn the language and are full part of Taiwan society now, of course you can share Taiwan's pride!

Not true Allan, not only do inspire us living overseas to travel and explore, you also educate Taiwanese students and helped them grow and develop the Taiwan that is now, a modern country with advance technology and a health care system that is a model for the world. I think the chinese word for pride without negative connotation is 自豪. My university professor who's a Taiwanese taught us never use 驕傲 for this context, use 自豪 instead
