  • I try out and give my impressions of the Bass Pro Shops Eclipse 10 Person Cabin Tent. A very large tent that would be of little use to a backpacker, this thing is awesome for truck camping at a large site. Or if you need to operate a mission command center in your back yard.
    I haven't been able to find any reviews of this tent anywhere, and I think Bass Pro must have only recently introduced it. I'm pretty happy with it overall, especially for the sale price of $150 that I got it for.
    ----------------
    2022 Update: The price of this tent at Bass Pro seems to have gone up to around $260.
    However, there seems to be a nearly identical (but differently-colored) tent from the brand Ozark Trail for $145.

    I bought this tent only because I needed a multi person tent for a summer trip. The tent I use isn't for several people.
    It does look lite weight and something that would get wet on a really rainy day.
    Anyway, I will give it the test this Spring

      Hey Thanks! I can't remember which exact model it is, but it doesn't seem to be available anymore. I've had it a few years. Looks pretty close to this one though... amzn.to/3i6SbHo

    Is this tent an ez up style tent like no assembly needed just pop it up?

    • @GreatLakesPrepping
      @GreatLakesPrepping  4 года назад +1

      No, you have to put the poles in place and raise it up manually like most tents.

      Bought this tent on sale at Cabelas for $149 dollars. Me and my son put this together in the dark with head lamps only in less than 15 minutes. It was simple to put away as well with all items fitting in the bag perfect. I was really surprised how easy it was to work with. I will say the instructions were kinda blah though.

    Thanks for a great review...especially the tent collapsing with the wind. Did you continue to use this in the 5 years since you posted and if so, how did it hold up?
    I am in a similar situation with a small 3p 4 season dome - can't stand up in it at all - plus I now have 4 grandsons and the age that goes along with that. So I was considering this for several reasons.

      Thanks Scott. Actually yes, I still use this tent. Though it's only for about 1 weekend per year these days, it still gets unpacked, set up, and taken down each year. Still no issues. No tears, no zipper problems. I tend to take pretty decent care of my stuff to make it last, so I guess I can't testify on how it would hold up to a rambunctious bunch of kids or dogs or something. But for my use, it's been great. This tent is almost absurdly big, but I do love it. I could do a cartwheel in it....if I were able to do a cartwheel anymore, that is!

    Can you please tell me if it's a four seasons tent?

      I can't imagine this tent would be especially great in the winter. It's a somewhat specialized tent that would be, and would likely need to work with some sort of stove.

      Hi Chris, sorry about that. I meant this video more as a consumer review rather than a full product demo. If you have any specific questions about how it goes up I'll be happy to answer them. I'm still using this tent every year, and it's still in great shape.
