Im not sure I would be taking a 1:1 lesson to only learn Japanese. My heart can only handle small amounts of angels singing and works of art walking outside of art galleries 🤭 🙇♂️🙏🏻 Thank you for having the compassion to teach.
先生、本当にありがとうございます! 😭😭Your advice is really useful and wonderful, now I have two months before the end of the university...so I will save the video and come back to apply all the tips during the holidays.😭🇯🇵❤️
I've just found out about your channel and have been loving the tips so far, plus the fact that talking speed is easy to follow. By the way, love the Shiro plushie in the background!
どうもありがとう for the suggestions. I feel like I'm not moving fast enough. I have been trying to learn Japanese for 8 months now but it is true that without regular conversation it is rather difficult. On the other hand, watching your video allowed me to see that I understand a lot of words, more than I thought... but even if you speak slowly my brain is not yet fast enough to restructure the sentences and understand them meaning. Most of the tool to learn Japanese are from english wich is a second langage for me... but I will succeed 😀 TV series suggestion that I loved on Netflix: Midnight Diner 深夜食堂 check it out!!
One of the first 'dramas' I watched was one called "Double Kitchen" (1993?), that series also introduced me to the Japanese music group Princess Princess, whose music I came to really enjoy quite a lot.
I have been watching a lot of anime/music and bit of drama. If you like j-pop i can recommend you to listen to aimer she is such a good artist with a unique voice and for me i can understand and follow the words quite well. One song i can recommend is かたおもい. Kataomoi/aimer. I hope that it will help others besides me
ありがとうございます 🥰🙏🏼🌸 I am lucky I have a native japanese language teacher in the England. I love your videos too! I watch Nihon drama & youtube and I need to really practice speaking more. I love kanji but yes, it is easier to read than write it! 😆
Someone told me before on a stream that they thought that I was japanese because my english had an japanese accent... Is that a compliment for my japanese talking skills or not? 😂
Sometimes my mind hurts from learning. The sentence structure of Japanese compared to English, requires some meditation to still the mind between videos. It helps when the voice is a song and the smile can be heard 🙏🏻🙇♂️
For me japanese pronunciation is not a big issue because spanish pronunciation is similar to japanese pronunciation but not equal but the majority of japanese sounds are similar to spanish sounds.
Thank you for the motivation. I have been studying just over a month and I think I have been feeling rushed by constantly seeing videos of people who got fluent within a year etc. I have definitely been told to study kanji a bit too much and do feel a bit overwhelmed by kanji while also trying to study grammar and katakana (i know hiragana completely but still need to learn some katakana). Ive felt very overwhelmed today and its been a bit unmotivating but i have the goal of living in japan when i graduate from uni so i want to be able to have conversations at the very least by time i move (which will probably be in a year and a half to 2 years). Do you have tips for studying grammar? I have been following tae kims guide to japanese grammar but that feels very overwhelming at times while also missing some things out so i supplement it with japanese from zero 1, though now i feel all muddled up about it.
I can say that no one has ever gotten native level in Japanese in just a year. I don't know if you've stuck with it, but I can say there's no reason to stress about it. My philosophy is that if I don't understand it today, I'll just try again tomorrow a little bit at a time. For grammar I read through Human Japanese and HJ Intermediate and looked up explanations on RUclips for more examples. I definitely didn't get it all at once, I had to watch some of those videos 5-10 times before I really understood some of the concepts. Same for kanji and vocabulary, I can't remember perfectly thousands of words and characters without a lot of input. I study my Anki cards when I have time and then listen/read what I can in Japanese to help reinforce what I've studied and introduce words in various contexts. Over time your brain will pick up on that context and you'll start to remember words you didn't know you even knew. Progress can be slow in the beginning, but it picks up a lot once you can pick up on the common words and phrases.
@@coolbrotherf127 thanks for the reply as i know my comment is quite old. I have definitely gotten over the extreme feelings of anxiety I had at the start. I can say I am on track for N4 level atm (its mostly just the kanji I need to learn) hoping to do the test december this year (I could probably even aim for N3 but Id rather secure a pass in N4 rather than risk a fail). By then I would have studied for about a year and a few months, so I think I will be pretty happy with that progress. Especially considering Ive been in my final year at uni so I unfortunately havent been able to study as much as I want. At the moment I have been doing my dissertation so I only properly study Japanese about once a week unfortunately. But I know that for that reason I shouldnt compare myself. People that learn relatively quickly probably get to dedicate most of their time to study (dont work/only work part time, no university, no kids etc.). So as a student who works and has a busy home life I just cant compare to these people. Once I am done with Uni though, I will much more easily be able to dedicate myself to Japanese and I should hopefully have about a year from then until moving there (if everything goes to plan) in which time I think I will make a lot of progress. But even then, I am not too stressed. When you realise how many people move to a country with no knowledge of the language and pick it up through living there it makes me stress a lot less. I know I will probably make more progress in a couple months living there than could ever be achieved over a year at home. Sorry for my rambling. But I have learnt a lot over my language learning journey and it is absolutely necessary you dont compsre yourself, thats the biggest thing I have learnt.
@@coolbrotherf127 good luck too! That sounds like a good goal to have! Im just aiming for teaching english there and maybe one day being a normal elementary school teacher (as thats what im qualifying to do at uni).
i would love to practice my "speaking" skills by talking to japanese people... but, i'm not confident about my nihongo.... (my proficiency level is N4) what should i do? practice more to achieve N3?
don't be afraid to make mistake, and it's ok that you are not confident! My English is not good and I'm not confident at all but I try my best to tell you what I want to say and I believe you guys try to understand even I make mistake😊 and we Japanese feel the same way, when foreigners try to speak in Japanese for us, we try our best to understand what you want to tell👍✨
