As an Orthodox Christian myself, I have had the discussion with my spiritual father. I smoke the occasional cigar, and a pipe fairly regularly, by no means am I dependent on the substance, but I do greatly enjoy it. In some cases it helps me pray, as I sit outside, work my bowl in peace.
God made all plants and animals, nothing is wrong with tobacco, don’t let the big pharmaceuticals and governments who are ran by satanists fool you, those are the same people who are trying to ban smoking tobacco, by like he said don’t become addicted to it, but addiction is of the mind, not of a leaf, have self control over your mind and actions
Hi Theoria! I am a Catholic but I’m wondering is it Ok to go to an orthodox church? Or receive the Eucharist in a Orthodox Church? May God bless you and your family :D
I'm an Orthodox Christian and I've seen online a growing interest in psychedelic drugs and more scientific research showing that the use of these drugs can be beneficial for things like depression. How ought we approach psychedelics as Orthodox Christians? Thank you 🙏
St. Nikodemos the Hagiorite actually wrote a chapter on the use of tobacco read his book: Nicodemos of the Holy Mountain A Handbook of Spiritual Counsel by Nikodemos Hagioreites translated and Edited by George S Bebis and Peter A Chamberas, Paulist Press 1989
There is no dogma for all sins! But if you smoke you pollute the temple of God! You cannot take Holy Communion or only in certain cases when the priest allows it just as a medicine from your passions! But there are some churches that won’t allow you to commune unless you quit the cigarettes first! Because you cannot serve two masters!
How does smoking tobacco pollute the temple, people smoked it for hundred of years and nothing bad happened to them it’s the satanic governments and big pharmaceutical companies who want you to be unhealthy that lie about the effects of smoking tobacco, of course inhaling it is bad but that’s because your lungs need oxygen not CO2 and CO it’s ok to puff on a cigar or pipe though, I’ve known many good Christians who smoked cigars and pipes who lived to be in their 90s-100s and they died when it was their time
What is your take on the holy fire? Do Orthodox have to believe the fire's origin is supernatural? What would it mean for Orthodox tradition if the patriarch of Jerusalem is lying about its origin? (My apologies if you've already covered this topic.)
@@anon8638 I said its not a miracle can you read, I said its still Holy though, things can be made holy like holy water, or like in the eucharist the bread and wine change into the Body and Blood of Christ.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own, you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's" I use this as part of a sermon or speech i wrote on how weight training should be a critical part of everyone's life and how it can contribute to spiritual growth, but it also obviously can apply to avoiding destructive chemicals. That said, smoking a pipe can be helpfully contemplative and of all kinds of tobacco it's by far the least harmful
Weed and all drugs affecting the brain and perception are forming direct bond with the evil spirits. Extremely dangerous for the spiritual life with a lot of bad consequences!

We meet again 😀
Tobacco: The Devil's Incense
How?

Can you explain why the Copts reject the Phrase "in Two Nature's"
That's the proper approach.

So generally, it really boils down to use in excess vs use in moderation.

Cigarettes and marijuana, yes. Cigars on the other hand aren't designed to be inhaled. They are smoked only for their taste.

I've heard an Elder say Cigarettes are the Devil's incenses
Caffeine is my addiction.

Good question
Yes we believe it’s a miracle
There are video, of one of the bishops saying its not a miracle and they use a lamp, it is still holy fire though.
@@Elijah_17 so is it a miracle or not lol. And if the light is made by man made means, what is the miracle?

I smoke and chew tobacco and hate it. I want to be not doing these things which kill the vessel.

Oof 👿 👀
All things in moderation
One may take the "KJV" on this front: literally - King James' View!!
