Fantastic review. I’m surprised you don’t have more subscribers. It’s great to see someone actually demonstrating the seating position for a rider and pillion. So many testers just talk about handling or electronics but it’s ergonomics that drive so much of our decision making.
I agree with everything you said, in particular the part about the pillion position.

BMWs are good bikes, but this one has the fastest 0-100 km/h acceleration of the lot, and fantastic low down rev torque ( I have one). For a race track forget it, get an SR1000RR, but if one rides on the road, perfect.
Not sure I'm bothered about shift-cam and my preference for this over a Nine-T with the previous oil-head engine. These BMW's are featuring a lot of plastic and maybe Chinese parts. I've seen more than enough Chinese imports lately. Would you buy or recommend this bike?
Depending if you want POWER or STYLE? :-) Personally I would buy an RnineT. I love the vibrations and everything of the old boxers.
The R is beautifully put together and I have not noticed any cheap parts whatsoever so not sure where you got this idea from? As ever it depends what you want from a bike but performance and comfort wise it will piss all over an oil air head as I used to ride one!!
@@davidjones9636 So, in comparison with RnineT R is "vibesfree"? I tested the RnineT and I have to admit that it rides very good and it is not heavy, but I didnt like the riding position (to much leaning to the front) and a lot od handlebar vibrations. I wonder if the R1250R is much better in this regard. Thanks for your answer.
I owned a 2017 R Nine T Scrambler and loved it but the horse power and torque of this water Boxer with VVT etc. cripples the R Nine T air/oil cooled Boxer.

I have an R1250RS. None of the parts are cheaply made. None appear to be made in China and none are plastic where they shouldn't be.
When you were showing the different riding modes you were tapping the top of the screens housing but you didn't show how you were changing the modes, I wonder how many people will be tapping the right corner of the tft screen ?? :-)

R1250R or S1000R? Hmmm, decisions, decisions...
just traded in my 2019 s1r for a r1250r. The s1000r is the far sportier option with its pro and cons. Great performance and cornering and perfect if you go on track from time to time, but far less comfort for everyday use, higher consumptions due to the 4 cylinder engine and a cramped riding position, so not ideal for lunch longer journeys. The r1250r gives you very good performances too, but its far more versatile. If you intend to undertake longer trips or using the bike to commute it is a reliable companion. The known and reliable boxer engine has a mountain of torque with little consumption.
