Bayern Maik well shooting HK style pistols left handed sucks, been there, done that, I shoot pistols with my right hand and rifles with my left hand, makes for super fast gun switches too
Great comment sir. I carry a 9mm hk usp. I've put over 20,000 rounds through it without a single failure to fire for any reason what so ever. Ive had failure to fire with my glock 17 on hard primer ammo. Also the hk usp shoots all ammo including +p and +p+. You are told not to do this with glocks.
Recently had one of my 3 dot sights come off my VP9, called HK was on hold for all of 5 seconds, talking to a real person, very friendly and funny. Offered the option to send in my slide or get a whole new rear sight sent to me for free. Great customer service and he even mentioned how they took this "You suck and they hate you" to heart. I think this video really touched home for the company and they are trying to fix any issues. I'm very happy with their customer service much better than some other companies.
In Germany they still treat civilian customers like they don't exist. But it's understandeable because the civilian market around here is absolutely tiny compared to the US. I had a similar experience about six months ago. A white dot insert popped out of the rear sight on my P30. A brief conversation where they asked me to send the slide in. One day turn around and the slide was back on my gun within three days. On a side note - I'm hoping to see the SFV P9 CC available here in the US civilian market. If you're interested, do a Google search for 'SFV P9' to find this as it won't appear on the regular HK website. No word from HK as to when it might be available.
@@ASPextra you said they dont have a higher capacity than the 19 which is incorrect, its 10, 15, 17, and 20 rounds. Read your operator's manual page 8 section 3 specifications.
Called HK because I wanted to order grey side slabs and back straps. They sent them to me for free. Excellent customer service. Have called them 3 times actually. Called the second time for the flat cocking tabs, which they send to me for free, and to ask them a question about a warranty, which they were very friendly. Love my VP9 and their service.
The myth of bad HK customer service to civilian gun owners is just that, a myth. And an overplayed and stupid myth usually perpetrated by XD shooting poorsies at that.
I have heard they have really improved customer service and listening to customer feed back and this gun was built based more on what the american civilian wanted in a hand gun. Before they did not take much input from customers. Also I believe they opened a plant in Georgia that this gun is made in not for sure but I do know that it is made in the States. Glad to hear that they are doing better. Going to order my VP9SK this week
@@jvmiller1995 . All Vp9's are made in Germany. The only things we get here in the U.S that are made here are the MR series and HK45c's. They did however open Georgia plant, lots of weird heresay about H&K. They built this gun because that's where the obvious market is right now....cheap striker fired guns. I've had just about all VP's except for the VP40. I still have a VP9 long slide. I won't bore you with the long list of other HK's I have. Enjoy that sk, it's a great gun. On magazine capacity, HK designs their mags to last many thousands of rounds and are the best mags out there. There's always HK newcomers that bitch about this. Some have said that HK is a magazine company that makes guns. They simply will not compromise the longevity to try fit in that crowd. This is directed more towards Active Protection. My worry is that HK will listen too much to the American consumer and just become another SIg type company that rams crap out and lets the people become the Beta test subjects.
John, I'm probably the one guy who will disagree with you about H&K Customer Service. They have always answered my emails, phone calls and questions. I find them to be excellent in service. I have a VP9 which I've tried to overheat, dry out though use, run a variety of ammo through it and have never had the weapon system fail me. H&K is awesome as a weapon system and company. Nice video discussion. Thank you
That may be but they are notoriously known worldwide for having very poor customer relations for civilian and especially what the HK heads like to call poors. I own 2 a p30 and USP 45 they are outstanding pistols but then again so is Glock, springfield 1911, SW, Nighthawk custom. All of whom have superior customer service to HK.
I felt that way when I got the sk. Such a good pistol. What makes the tactical version tactical? I'm thinking about trading in the sk for the regular vp9 but now I'm curious about that one.
Am I the only one who thinks that there is some ass clown at the HK factory in Germany who was designing the VP9/P30 magazines and just threw his hands in the air and said, "15 rounds is enough. Fuck it. Sure the grip is long enough and the magazines have enough internal volume, we could get 17 or 18 rounds in there. But why would anybody need more than 15?"
There are both legal and supposed engineering reasons for the 15rnd limit. The legal reason is that 15rnds is the plain capacity limit for handguns under German law, that's what you get in every pistol over there. The supposed engineering reason is to increase reliability: the HK mag has a more gradual transition from the double columns to the single feed than Glock and M&P mags, and it doesn't hyper compress the spring when fully loaded like those two mags do. This can supposedly lead to more spring set, but I haven't heard a mass of complaints about Glock mags being less reliable; that's HK's story though and they're sticking to it. If you haven't seen what a hyper compressed spring looks like, TFB had an article showing one: www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/04/27/potd-windowed-magazine-shows-twisted-inside/#comments
Those hi points make me wanna throw up, they're so ugly. However, they run well have a great warranty and are American made. Still won't give up my g22, g23, or my vp9 for one though.
I agree, that trigger is fantastic for a factory trigger. I have no desire or plans to replace it. It's my EDC as well. Incredibly well made and yes, easy to shoot.
As a man, I believe there’s a short list of items to never go cheap on: Quality toilet paper Good whiskey Nice hotel rooms And H&K firearms Anything else is a waste of money.
I've lost use of my right hand and you highlighted all the options that made me choose this gun... I went to the range and seen how nice it was to use and bought it... Before that I was a Ruger fan...
I'd really like to see you give more gun reviews in the future. Your focus on defensive use and ccw is valuable to the community. Most reviews are more combat conditions oriented.
I don’t subscribe to HK one way or another. Historically I’ve never been a fan of a lot of their designs. We switched to the VP nine a couple of years ago as well. We had to reach out to the US based customer support staff to ask a question. They got back to us I think in 24 hours? It was definitely not 36. We like the guns. Marky
@John1911GunBlog.....I'm an unabashed HK fanboy. Have been for a long time, but i just love them from a reliability standpoint. I had been hounding my friend to buy a USP when they came out (he had his permit first). Got my permit, went to the store and didn't like the way it felt. Bought a S&W Sigma instead based solely on feel. What a POS. Ended up trading it and $300 for a USP. I have a HK G3K....a G3/HK91 modified to a 12.4" barrel. The thing will shoot anything out of it, including cigarette butt, but it isn't as easy to shoot as my FN. Gave it to my son after NY passed the idiotic safe act, but he's giving it back when I move next year. Happy days I will say that my VP9 is both reliable as heck AND comfortable. This gun I truly love. When I move, I'll get a carry permit and that's what I'm going to carry. Until then......my Benchmade is all I carry. Ugh
I'm not even left handed, but I landed on the H&K as my preferred carry gun, too. I have Glocks and M&Ps, and I would trust my life to those, but out of the box the H&K had the right combination of ergonomics, trigger, accuracy (for some reason I can shoot this gun better than my Glocks) and reliability. I like the VP9 so well that I'm looking at adding an SK to my collection.
Can confirm: I also have an HK VP9 (among others) and it is indeed a fine shooting pistol right out of the box and continues to be so. Very easy to shoot, highly accurate and does everything you stated. Do recommend this if you like 9mm!
I call Bullshit on the puddle drop because I dropped mine in the rain in the field shooting in a puddle picked mine up wiped off and it went off bang bang so that one ☝️ guy just had bad luck that day with it ⚡️⚡️🥃🇺🇸
P30 magazines are about the same size as G17's, but minus 2 rounds because HK thinks you suck and they hate you. No, wait, it's not that-it's because the engineers at Oberndorf absolutely could not figure out how to fit 17 rounds in a magazine that size. Or maybe it's just because they designed them so the magazine spring does not bottom-out, extending its life and enhancing reliability, especially for those unit armorers/departments that almost never change their springs. Also, love the Terminator plasma weapon reference.
Also: This may just have been a one time karmatic event, but one day I called the H&K line and either chose the right menu option or maybe called the right number, but I actually got someone, right away, who talked tech with me for a few minutes. He may have been an assembler, smith, or mgmt. He was obviously busy, but he helped me. A good day. I'll never call again for fear of ruining the memory, but it's smile-worthy when I hear of less-than-complimentary news about them. lol
If you want to cut the BS to talk to a human being on any automated tech line just keep saying "agent" instead of pressing keypad numbers to options or questions, works every time.
I'm a lefty and shot left until I realized I am right eye dominant. Wasn't that hard to do. If you think about it your off hand does a lot more. Reloads and control manipulations. Especially using a rifle. Now my weak side is the strong side. Same with knife carry. Can't beat em join em.
I know I'm late to the comments, but I'm a leftie in 99% of my life, except shooting. I write, eat , and throw left handed, but shoot pistols right handed. I'm also left eye dominant. I guess most guns being built for right handed shooters caused my brain to adapt, but I have no issues with accuracy, even being all discombobulated. Lmfao. Btw... Just to show how messed up I really am... I shoot rifles left handed, so depending on the rifle, I get shells flying at my face and right arm.
I think Glock for pistols is the same thing as Neil Peart is for drumming. People say it is 'the best' because that is just what they hear, so they parrot it. (Even when they are not drummers) I had a Glock 23 .40cal and it was a lemon, so I cannot knock Glock overall because I had a bad one. But, after about 6 different weapons manufacturers, I liked HK the best.
Most of us who study history understand that world war 3 will be fought in the mud, so you definitely want a gun that can handle mud lol. I've watched him put guns through his gauntlet and thought All he's doing is abusing some really nice guns. Those aren't realistic situations. In the military, if you are going to be crawling through the mud, your gun's going to be in a holster and protected from the mud. Once you're done crawling through the mud You're going to use your rifle. So even though he's very entertaining, it's not realistic. I just put a VPN on a layaway and can't wait to get it
I have not been shooting long and own a Glock 19 but for the life of me, I can not understand why people say you have to use this gun or that gun and when you dont agree with them they get mad. The way I see it if you like it and you shoot good with it why do you need to switch to the gun they are trying to push. Now I do not need the amby controls but would love to try the VP9 or VP30 because, well hell its a gun. We need to quit trying to tell people what to shoot and getting the to just own and shoot a gun for their protection... Thank you for all of your videos
I agree and have even made a video on this. Most people want approval of their choices. They want to feel good and justified in what they just spent money on. Whether it be a type of gun, brand of gun, specific caliber, or even a truck or motorcycle, they want approval from others. And if you disagree with them, well then you're just an idiot! Because hey, I only buy the best and gosh-darn-it, you all better agree with me!!! That kind of thinking. And yes, that kind of ignorance, low self-esteem or self-worth. Or maybe, just dumb as dirt. But hey, that's ok. They don't bother me. I have been shooting for over 45 years and I know what I like. I make videos on things I like and if someone doesn't like what I bought, they are free to buy what they want. Simple as that! I did buy a VP9. Actually, I bought 2. Sold the first one due to a great trade/sale, missed it so much that I bought another one. I like the large frame Glocks for shooting, but not for carry. Why? They are big! The smaller Glocks rub blisters on my finger under the trigger guard. So I don't carry one anymore as I train regularly with my carry guns. Doesn't mean I think Glocks are crap and those who shoot them are stupid bung holes. It just means they don't work for me. If they work for you, that's great! Glocks are fantastic guns, even though they don't work for me. I've filed on so many of my old Glocks to get that little "spot" to where it won't rub a blister on me that I just gave up and went back to carrying my 1911s. And yes I can get my 1911 out of the holster and two rounds on target in less than 1.5 seconds from a level 2 holster, just like I could with my Glock. And like I can with my VP9. Heck I've actually got off two shots with my 1911s even faster than that. I carry cocked, not locked. Why? Because my 1911 carry guns are model 80s, with the firing pin safety and all, like a Glock. So I don't have to lock the slide lock for my 1911 to be safe. But the VP9 is so sweet in my hands!!! I can shoot 500 rounds at the range and not one blister!!! With a Glock, by the time I reached 150 rounds, I had a blister forming. Sad as I liked the versatility of a Glock. Hopefully the VP9 will reach that point. It already has a ton of stuff you can buy to trick it out, so to speak. But hey, it's pretty darn good out the box! Thanks and shoot straight!
I don't mind a critical review taking any side. I do get bummed when some says "Gun X is a loser" without any support. For instance, I have a Hi-Point carbine, and it is, repeat is, a cheap rifle. It also is very accurate, does not misfire or jam, and it has the best support of any gun I've owned. Lifetime guarantee. But some people say, in essence "Anyone who has a Hi-Point is stupid and has an ugly sister." You wanna say something, be my guest, but forget the ad hominem attacks.
Looked for over a year for an EDC pistol that fit my hand & had a nice trigger. The VP9 fit the bill perfectly. The paddle mag release though unconventional was easy to transition to. Shoots great & didn’t break the bank
I just picked up a VP9 in the ghost grey camo option and haven’t fired it yet but it’s seems like a really nice firearm. I to an a left handed shooter so it’s nice to see other people out there that share the struggle of a decent or well build true ambidextrous firearm
John you need to shoot a couple Sig 320's if you want to experience a really good striker gun trigger. I say a couple so you know it's not a fluke. That was another reason the Army adopted it though it may not have been officially mentioned.
Yeah a Sig 320 isn't a VP9 or a Walther or sorry to say even a M&P 2.0. The P320 is is my duty weapon. It's a good gun with the ergonomics of a a Ryobi cordless drill. The trigger is good, just good. The VP9, Walther and Smith's triggers are more positive. Sorry I can't agree with the assessment as a police 34 year firearms instructor. Factually the Canicks trigger is better and the gun is half the price of a Sig. Paying for a name. The Sig 320 is like a Glock. Over priced reputation. Good but not really the best. VP9 is better as is a Walther. Yeah I carry a Sig on duty but not off duty.
When you show us live videos, I love how serious and compassionate you are and I also love how sarcastic you are when you do gun reviews. God bless you John. MAGA!
+Active Self Protection Extra I know this is an older video but I just picked up a 2020 HK VP9 and looking for sights that will co-witness with a Holosun 407c. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Many thanks!
I have never understood why anyone considers having to pull the trigger for disassembly to be an issue. If someone manages to have a negligent discharge in the process of disassembling your gun, they probably aren't responsible enough to handle guns. If you're going to take apart a firearm, having the presence of mind to at least make sure the gun is clear of all ammunition is rule 1 and it always has been. As I said before, If someone is so out-to-lunch that they forget to empty their weapon before disassembly, I'd say that being a gun guy just isn't for them. They should probably take up a new hobby.
Yeah, I never understood the complaints about that either. Never ever in my life have I tried to disassemble my Glocks before I have first unloaded them and cycled the slide a few times to be sure it's clear.
I carry a PPQ, and have shot VP9s. My son has a VP9. Both are excellent guns. Unlike John, I prefer the PPQ paddle. It is longer and easier for me to operate. You can't go wrong with either. IMO, it is better to spend time on training, than finding the "best" gun.
I don't get it. All you have to do is drop your trigger finger straight down to hit the release. With the HK you have to bend the finger to reach back towards the grip. In fact, you can use the exact same motion to activate the PPQ paddle, since you can push it at the same place as the VP9. Some also use their middle finger. To each their own.
@phil chickenfingers I always wondered why it doesn't get more popular first and foremost because it looks amazing. I know it's just a personal opinion, but I really like how it looks.
I love this video! I also appreciate how you tell use the pros and cons of each gun and why you prefer it over other platforms. It’s breath of fresh air from people that bash X manufacture and say you’re stupid if you don’t buy Z manufacturer. It’s all preference and that’s what I love about this. It helps the end user figure out what they like more.
I was able to find 17-rd mags for this one. It came with two 15-rd mags and I purchased two 17-rd and two 20-rd mags for the VP9 from hkparts.net but they’re available all over the net.
Thanks for covering this pistol. It got me to looking at the paddle magazine release. I've been unable to release a magazine with a single hand and now I know that the paddle release options will work for me in this regard. I will consider this pistol more closely, and perhaps others with this feature, when I'm in the market for a new firearm.
Finally purchased a VP9 a few weeks ago, WOW. installed my Burris FastFireIII and shot it yesterday in my steel plate competition and right out of the box and scored 89 of 96 shots on target, finished 2nd.....I'll take it. It's eating my trigger finger on the bottom side so I have to figure that out, but then again so does my Walther PPS striker-fire. Thanks for your review, enjoyed it.
Mole skin your finger or smooth the offending part. My Glocks do the same thing to my middle finger, but there's nothing to smooth on the trigger guard.
@@828enigma6 Thanks CP. I heard where I believe Grey Guns or Lazy Wolf smooths the small hump on the inside bottom of the trigger guard to eliminate some of that. I ordered a Wolf F3 flat trigger so maybe that will eliminate it. While the trigger is out I can look at smoothing it also. Cheers
Bought mine last week, and took it out today. Horrible accuracy...when I started out, but I eventually got it on target as I got used to the sights and trigger. Nice trigger for that style action.
@@33Luger H&K says you need to break it in with at least 50 rounds before judging the accuracy. In my experience, the accuracy is pretty damn good for a service pistol.
Doesn’t really matter in a real life fire fight, when you are in survival mode fighting for your life all this doesn’t matter one bit. All you are looking for is if it’s reliable, period! Too many arm chair Johnny Rambo’s out there.
Either HK has significantly improved their service recently, they don't deserve the reputation for bad service, or I just got lucky. The slide on my VP9 wasn't locking back, so I called them, talked to a live person, they walked me through some tests to diagnose it, they figured out over the phone what the issue is, emailed me a voucher to overnight it to them via Fedex, and they had it back to me 3 days later completely fixed, all shipping paid for by them. A year and a few thousand rounds later, no issues. I can't complain.
A few years ago my friend took less than a magazine to hit a 2 liter bottle at 100 yards with their everyday carry box stock VP9 Cindy wasn't even showing off either. ;-)
I bought the VP9SK not too long ago, first time out I put the "pinky mag" in and went after a 2 liter at 100 yards, it took 2 shots. It was pretty windy though. ;-)
Man. I appreciate how you go about the many aspects and features of the gun and what led to your decision. Hoping to catch some of your other reviews. Be well.
I really loved the VP9 but it was over my budget. I found the Walther PPQ to be very close in quality and features, but for $100 less. Both amazing guns!! Thanks for all your great info.
I love your videos , and will always be a fan. The only funny comment in this video to me is saying that the guns trigger out of the box is superb fantastic , and then acting surprised. Hmm it’s nit aftermarket , but what’s the difference ? The gun is more then twice the price of a Glock and most guns with non perfected trigger assemblies . KH never compromise , but your charged for that , which I love and respect.
Spent some quality time with a vp9. I would tell you if you want a crisper trigger, go cz. If you want a soft easy pull, Wall, break and reset, you can’t do better than HK If I had to choose again, I’d choose the red and black.
I love my VP9. Never been a fan of Glock, and though I like S&W M&P pistols when I fired the VP9 before getting one I fell in love with it. I'm right handed and use my index finger on the right side paddle release to drop the mag. It is now my service pistol as an armed Security Officer.
John, my answer to the $50 mag cost was to buy multiple VP9s. I bought one for each member of my family. When it's just me shooting I have 15 mags available. Woohoo. I've almost found that the VP9SK recoil mitigation is that the back strap of the grip really sucks the pistol down into the webbing of my thumb. Please take my comments with a grain of salt as I am a self expressed HK fanboy, have been all my adult life.
Massive fan of the channel. What are your thoughts on the Texas church shooting. You once talked about church security at your church. Any new thoughts?
i like your channel, but i do not support this 72 hour rule, why? you would love to erase this mass shootings, dont look aside treat it as all the other stories with guns you narrate.
not even close. g17 is superior, lighter, longer barrel, 17 rounds. I personally think g22 is the best value for the money, you get a 9mm conversion barrel and u got 2 guns, 3 if you like 357 sig. vp9 is only 3 oz less than a glock 20/21. 9mm guns don't need to be that heavy because 9mm doesn't kick that much. vp9 is $150 over priced. glock, pdp, m&p2.0 and beretta a1 are all better guns AND less money.
Active Self Protection Extra get the M2 it has the paddle release. As for the price I can easily get a PPQ in the range of 450 if not less even brand new. I've never seen a vp9 for less than 550 even on Armslist.
FN FNS/FNX/509 has a better ambi mag release. Also extremely reliable and doesn't have the HK price hike and pretentiousness (except the FNX Tactical). 17 round mags instead of 15 doesn't hurt either.

Thank you
Well I'm sure he's grateful that you've just confirmed H&K hates him.
I have to agree , all my hk are the greatest , customer service good , and has not let me down ... cost is a little high ... they work .
Yes their service is quite good.

If you haven't seen what a hyper compressed spring looks like, TFB had an article showing one:

Ken Schmidt Comfortable doesn't belong in the same sentence as hi point.
Those hi points make me wanna throw up, they're so ugly. However, they run well have a great warranty and are American made. Still won't give up my g22, g23, or my vp9 for one though.
They are ugly but better than a brick.

Fair assessment
I'm a lefty and that's the reason I bought this pistol. It's amazing right out the box!
I agree, that trigger is fantastic for a factory trigger. I have no desire or plans to replace it. It's my EDC as well. Incredibly well made and yes, easy to shoot.
As a man, I believe there’s a short list of items to never go cheap on:
Quality toilet paper
Good whiskey
Nice hotel rooms
And H&K firearms
Anything else is a waste of money.
Tools and tires and boots i dont scrimp on those items oh yeah hollow points
Sam Gardner I agree with you on the first three. You get what you pay for. Oh, CZ by the way.
Are you saying that you recommend H&K?

I've lost use of my right hand and you highlighted all the options that made me choose this gun... I went to the range and seen how nice it was to use and bought it... Before that I was a Ruger fan...
Just picked this up based on your review. Love this gun!
I'd really like to see you give more gun reviews in the future. Your focus on defensive use and ccw is valuable to the community. Most reviews are more combat conditions oriented.
I will think about it!

Happy days
I will say that my VP9 is both reliable as heck AND comfortable.
The Sk is Awesome!
Can confirm: I also have an HK VP9 (among others) and it is indeed a fine shooting pistol right out of the box and continues to be so. Very easy to shoot, highly accurate and does everything you stated. Do recommend this if you like 9mm!
I just bought a vp9sk I absolutely love it
I call Bullshit on the puddle drop because I dropped mine in the rain in the field shooting in a puddle picked mine up wiped off and it went off bang bang so that one ☝️ guy just had bad luck that day with it ⚡️⚡️🥃🇺🇸
P30 magazines are about the same size as G17's, but minus 2 rounds because HK thinks you suck and they hate you.
Yeah they don't overstuff the mag.
Hey a fellow leftie!! Did you know every person starts out left handed, until they commit a sin.
or your fist grade teacher forces you to write right handed like the rest of the kids.
there sure are a lot of wackadoos on the internet .....
I'm a lefty and shot left until I realized I am right eye dominant. Wasn't that hard to do. If you think about it your off hand does a lot more. Reloads and control manipulations. Especially using a rifle. Now my weak side is the strong side. Same with knife carry. Can't beat em join em.
@Matt Dasan Things right handers say after jerking off with thir right hand.
(Even when they are not drummers)
I had a Glock 23 .40cal and it was a lemon, so I cannot knock Glock overall because I had a bad one.
Geez another Glock fanboi .... sorry couldn't resist. I agree with you. People get so vested in the toy they picked.
That is John's point and recommendation -what works for me may not work for you, but we can trust his experience and neutrality!
Gun owners bragging right...like the hairs in their azzes. They think cuter than the fat boy's azz across the street.
Hey John, roast my Walther PPQ!
Walthers are "un-roastable" !!! Go Walther!!
Looked for over a year for an EDC pistol that fit my hand & had a nice trigger. The VP9 fit the bill perfectly. The paddle mag release though unconventional was easy to transition to. Shoots great & didn’t break the bank
H&K also makes a version with a push-button release.

"Not the first, but the first one in a long time"... You're just hilarious...
Man, I HATE the PPQ paddle. Can't operate it.

It helps the end user figure out what they like more.
I was able to find 17-rd mags for this one. It came with two 15-rd mags and I purchased two 17-rd and two 20-rd mags for the VP9 from hkparts.net but they’re available all over the net.
Yeah this video was made before HK released the 17-round mags.

It will improve your times, with reloading. I had the same issue, the paddle release is a great once you get use to it
Finally purchased a VP9 a few weeks ago, WOW. installed my Burris FastFireIII and shot it yesterday in my steel plate competition and right out of the box and scored 89 of 96 shots on target, finished 2nd.....I'll take it.
Cheers
I just bought a VP9 but have not fired it yet. Great video!
I am used to shooting P-210's so my standards might be too high. Hopefully I can go back to shooting when the quarantine ends. 250 rounds so far.
Correct handed = right handed
Doesn’t really matter in a real life fire fight, when you are in survival mode fighting for your life all this doesn’t matter one bit. All you are looking for is if it’s reliable, period!
Too many arm chair Johnny Rambo’s out there.
Well, that's true and it's not. If the gun is reliable but you can't shoot it accurately and quickly under stress, you're not going to do well.
I'm correct handed as well. I just go over the top.
One of the best if not the best grip I have ever felt/held! I still have not acquired one yet
John I just got the VP40 yesterday and put 150 rounds thru it. Stellar accuracy!
I like the vp9 and the way it shoots but once I held and shot the vp40 I couldn't go back.
They’ve gotten much better.
Correction: you’re wrong handed. The rest of us are right.
I love how real you were during this review.
Love my VP9. It’s my EDC. Removed the wings off mine cause they were digging in my side.
They make a placeholder that's flush with the slide if you want one, too.
How did you?!
I’d guess by taking off the rear sight?. And just sliding them out?.
@@DeathByLego yup. Exactly that.
Of course HK is the best. Duh.
Too bad U didn't get in on the 5 free additional mag mail in free offer from this past summer 2017. HK goofed and sent me 10! 😁
Nice!!
A few years ago my friend took less than a magazine to hit a 2 liter bottle at 100 yards with their everyday carry box stock VP9 Cindy wasn't even showing off either. ;-)
I would say that the gun shoots 2.5-3 MOA out of the box, which is very good for a non-custom pistol.
I bought the VP9SK not too long ago, first time out I put the "pinky mag" in and went after a 2 liter at 100 yards, it took 2 shots. It was pretty windy though. ;-)

*Better ergonomics

Not all lefties shoot left handed.
Does a gen 5 Glock make your VP9 nervous?
Nah. It’s a good gun but Ione the VP9 more and jokingly call it a Gen 6 Glock.
The most honest review ever seen
I really loved the VP9 but it was over my budget. I found the Walther PPQ to be very close in quality and features, but for $100 less. Both amazing guns!! Thanks for all your great info.

Thank you for all you do John
Thanks so much for the encouragement Sherri Wallace; I really appreciate it. Hope you have a great day!
Huh? It's most certainly not twice the price of a Glock.
@@ASPextra the 45's are almost double
Thank you sir!
CZ P10c next?
Ghost Bear shoots great. Doesn’t feel as quality in terms of craftsmanship, though. The vp9 feels like it was built better in hand.
Spent some quality time with a vp9. I would tell you if you want a crisper trigger, go cz. If you want a soft easy pull, Wall, break and reset, you can’t do better than HK
If I had to choose again, I’d choose the red and black.
Thank you! Im sick and tired of Glock fan boys.
Haha, that's a great strategy to have more mags!
Lol I did the same damn thing, 5 in my family, 5 VP's9!
VP9 at PSA with night sights two weeks ago $499! It comes with 2 17 rd mags. HK had a rebate for 4 additional 17 rd mags as well.
That's amazing!
Massive fan of the channel. What are your thoughts on the Texas church shooting. You once talked about church security at your church. Any new thoughts?
We're still in the 72-hour rule window. I will post some thoughts tomorrow.
don't go to church
why would you downgrade at all? carry what you always carry no matter what and no matter where and this will happen less
i like your channel, but i do not support this 72 hour rule, why? you would love to erase this mass shootings, dont look aside treat it as all the other stories with guns you narrate.
sqlb3rn segfavlt thats hardly an answer.
The only thing you could ask for is cheaper "clips" XD
Magazines are not just for reading.
The proper term is glock brand glockazine.
I shot my friend's HK and really like how it felt in the hand. I get a lot better grip on it than my glock.
Great gun!
VP9. Best handgun for the money bar none.
not even close. g17 is superior, lighter, longer barrel, 17 rounds.
Ahahahahaha😂.
Oh, you’re serious? Yikes.
Glock Gen 5 has slide stops on both sides. I have a Gen 5 17 & 26 with night sights. H&K makes great pistols but I will keep my Glocks.
StratBurst92 agree
Slide stop doesn't make a gun ambi. That's partial ambi. Mag release matters too.
Save 200 bucks and buy the Walther PPQ M2 9mm. Better trigger and is ambi as well.
I like the Walther. Good gun. But the mag release swung me to the HK and I am happy with that decision. For the record, they're about the same price.
Active Self Protection Extra get the M2 it has the paddle release. As for the price I can easily get a PPQ in the range of 450 if not less even brand new. I've never seen a vp9 for less than 550 even on Armslist.
The M1
FN FNS/FNX/509 has a better ambi mag release. Also extremely reliable and doesn't have the HK price hike and pretentiousness (except the FNX Tactical). 17 round mags instead of 15 doesn't hurt either.
I'm just going to get what John says. They should have answered his e-mails :)

Ok can we get the explanation for why left handed is "correct" handed?
Just a joke.
@@ASPextraAww I wanted a super technical tactical explanation so I would have to switch over to lefty.
