What ppl don’t realize is that being stuck in ice literally stops ALL circulation so yes technically he is 100+ but ur not even considered alive in said position it’s the same for gators or crocs whichever 1 freezes themselves
The reason people don’t “realize” that is because it’s not true. I don’t wanna dump on your enthusiasm here, I’m a sucker for animal facts too. I’m just saying you should probably know yours before making grandiose statements like that. Both alligators and crocodiles enter states of low metabolic activity in unfavorable temperatures (brumation and aestivation, respectively) except for alligators it’s little less extreme. In neither case do their bodily functions “stop completely.” If pausing and unpausing biologic and metabolic activity were that easy, we’d colonizing Mars by now.
And they’re both _absolutely_ still considered “alive” during their dormancy.

@@PatrovskyG We literally do. The strain on his body of maintaining the avatar state for an entire century shortened his remaining lifespan considerably. Avatar Roku was 70 when he died and that was largely due to his sudden but inevitable betrayal by Sozin. Physiologically, Aang barely made it to what we would call retirement age.

Excuse my logic correct me if wrong but is one of the reasons why Aang’s avatar state is more powerful than Korra’s is because he was constantly using it for 100 years and when you do something like an exercise your body constantly adapts to it allowing him to put more power into it
The reason Korra’s Avatar state is ‘weaker’ than Aang’s is because they never knew if or when the Nickelodeon execs would pull the plug, so they needed some quick-and-dirty dramatic tension. Hard to blame the writers, tho. They were doing the best they could for the circumstances they were in.

@@jessicanorton3016I’d say another way that makes sense is that she never fully connected with her Avatar spirit before it was taken away by Vatuu. Then with the last two seasons she didn’t have the combination of all past avatars. It was just her and Raava.
I always thought that it's because the avatar state is united experience of all the past lives. Korra pretty much started a new avatar cycle after Unalaq killed Raava and all the previous avatars. So she basically has only experience of her own and Raava just lets her use more than one element simultaneously. Basically boosting her up. But Korra unlike Aang lacks the experience of her past lives

I REALLY wish they would give a second series of the show where Aang & The Gang are teenagers & we get to see what happened after the 100 Year War as they reach adulthood 💯🥺 I would love to see that because Korra wasn’t even close to the feeling of The Last Airbender, but don’t get me wrong I like Korra but she needed help fighting every single person she went up against even in spirit form so to me that’s weak 😂 Aang been had hands at 12 years old😂 he would of wiped the floor with every single evil character in Korra but he didn’t have what Korra had as basically a toddler, mastering 3 elements that easily & early but imagine if Aang had that 😮💨😮💨😮💨 but yeah please give us Teens to Adulthood The Last Airbender series🤷🏾🙏🏾 it probably won’t happen but if it does it’ll probably look like these new wack ass new animated style cartoons for this generation😅💀

People usually marry when they're ready to settle down and start a family. He and Katara were probably very busy restoring balance to the world and such.

What shocks me the most is that even if aang died at age 66 He was more than a century and a half old at 166 and by the start/end of Korra he would be 182-186 yrs old which means he would have been born almost 200 yrs ago

Aang didn't form the acolites, many who had immigrated to air temples as refuges studied and took on their traditions and initially Aang was offended by this seeing it as cultural appropriation before seeing how respectful and seriously they took the traditions and culture they adopted before accepting them as part of the Air Nomads and further teaching them

When Aang was frozen for 100 years he used a lot of his life energy so that’s why he died sooner he had lost so much aura but with Link he was healing for 100 years so his body didn’t age because it was always healing his aura was tight fr 🤓
Fun fact: the air temples were segregated by gender. North and south house males while the east and west housed females. This makes it extremely unlikely that aang would have been born at the southern temple but would have been moved to lived there at a very young age. It is entirely possible that his mother was visiting as air nomads moved around a lot but it’s unlikely
It is sad his life was so short even by this world's standards much less THAT world where age 100 almost seems like a minimum.
