Should we continue the Mission Impossible series??
I tell you what, why don't you just see if all the other reactors who've done this film in the last week react to the whole series or not and just copy what they do.
YES PLEASE🙏
@@mattyoung7415 Pure coincidence my man!! Seriosly! Believe me or not, but we started doinga ction movies months ago. Sometimes things like this just happen.
Of course! The movies are awesome 😊
HELL YES!!
One of my favorite series ever
Nobu's "oh no the fish" killed me
😂
I laughed out loud at that one.
Lmaooo
Nobu kills me lately with these reactions "Oh no the fisshhhhh."
Like ur profile pic
@@ScorpionStrike7 Thanks! Love Shinobu, she is such a good character!
@@evie3148 Have a Demon Slayer poster in my dorm and I have a key chain of Giyuu on my back pack. Second favorite anime! 😁
@@evie3148 Ngl, ship her and Giyuu 😅😅😅
4-6 are in my opinion some of the best spy-movies/action-movies ever made so... yeah, a whole reaction would be amazing
DUDE , WATCH ALL THE MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FILMS!
Tom Cruise does his own stunts in the movie, which is insane, but at the same time, very gutsy.
Ok awesome!!! We plan on it!!
@@whitenoisereacts Yup it's insane how Tom does most if not all of his stunts. A video just came out from Paramount teasing the newest MI coming out in 2023. It just shows Tom and the stunt team of how they do one of the stunts in the movie, it's insane cause it is him doing it! You need to watch it! Tom is 60 and is doing this!
ruclips.net/video/-lsFs2615gw/видео.html
This movie movie really is iconic.
AGREED!!
this is one of my favorite series ever! It be awesome to see you guys react and know what you think!!
Ok great!!!
The train scene was on a TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse or High Speed Train), a french train. At that time those trains could go at a 320 Km/h (199 mi/hour) on some parts of the french network. They had the record on rails at 515Km/h (320 mi/h). In 2007 they even set a world record on rails at 574.8Km/h (357.16 mi/h) on rails that is currently unbeaten.
The TGV also set a long-distance speed record on May 26, 2001 with the Calais - Marseille route (1,067 km or 663 mi) in 3 hours and 29 minutes, i.e. an average of 306.3 km/h (190.32 mi/h)
Yes, the spy called Jack from the beginning is Emilio Estevez, from The Breakfast Club. He is also Charlie Sheen's brother. I was so upset as a child when the majority of the Team died so early as I wanted to see more of them. But it did lead on to the scene in the restaraunt with the fish tank which was so iconic!
The original actor who played Jim in the tv show refused to reprise the role for the movie because he didn't want his originally good character to become a traitor.
Mission: Impossible was a tv series started 1966 and ran for 7 seasons. A reboot was done in 1988 for 2 seasons.
IMF is Impossible Mission Force.
Based on one of several tv series, created by Bruce Gellar.
M:I was among the most iconic of the 1960s Spy craze.
There was a continuation of the series in the late 1980s with characters from the original and newly added characters.
The theme by Lalo Scrifrin is so timeless with Intrigue and excitement.
Tom Cruise in the mid-1990s officially became a producer.
He & miss Paula Wagner formed a company.
Both were given the greenlight for the rights to make M:I as an movie.
This first film matches the tv series at almost perfect beat and Cruise becomes the consummate stunt performer we know him to be today.
As the tv series resurged back into reruns, Cruise definitely had a franchise and we couldn't wait for more missions on the big screen.
Nice. I was in Prague when they were shooting this and couldn't wait to get back home to see it. I love this one. It's more spy style than some of the later ones, where they go more action style. But yeah, the whole franchise is definitely worth it. And yeah, that's the TGV train from London to Paris. I've been on it, and it does over 300 mph.
Yes!! One of my favourite franchises ever!! And you’re right Tom Cruise just doesn’t age! He is insane doing all those stunts himself; my favourite is the forth one “Ghost Protocol” when you get to it you will be 😱
It is an interesting series for sure! The first one was iconic. The second one was the literal interpretation of the year 2000 (the hair, the action, the fashion, the campiness, everything). The third one was different, but I like this one the most out of the first three. The ones after it are not bad, although I can't remember which one's which because they felt kinda similar after a while. I do remember that the stunts are getting crazier and crazier, which made me respect Tom Cruise as an actor 😂
Yeah it’s a bit crazy, but hopefully better after this
Still the best Mission: Impossible and still one of the best spy films ever made. I love the eerie Hitchcockian atmosphere and vibe Brian de Palma infused into it. Fantastic cinematography, music, and tension. Also, Ethan, unlike any other Mission: Impossible film, doesn't fire a single bullet or engage in any crazy fist-fighting the entire fi;lm. Which is proof that you don't need any of that to make an effective spy thriller or just a good movie. The laser sequence to this day is still one of the greatest and most tense scenes in movie history in my opinion. The other only M:I film (so far) to capture any semblance of the essence of this film is Ghost Protocol, which to no surprise is my second favorite of the entire franchise.
Love this series! Amazing the many different paths it has taken as they all feel distinct enough from each other, which goes a long way for a franchise that has spanned this long
I LOVE THE MISSION IMPOSSIBLE SERIES🔥🔥♥️I ENJOYED THE FIRST ONE AS IT HAD A GOOD STORYLINE AND AMAZING ACTION/STUNTS👍ETHAN HUNT, ONE OF TOM CRUISE’S MOST ICONIC CHARACTERS ♥️I HOPE YOU GUYS REACT TO MORE MISSION IMPOSSIBLE AND TOM CRUISE MOVIES🙏KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS👏👏
The one from the Breakfast Club is Emilio Estevez. He and Tom Cruise are good friends and he was best man to Cruise for his first marriage.
From what I remember reading back in the 90s, Estevez had just wrapped production on 'Mighty Ducks 3' and happened to be vacationing near where the Mission: Impossible was being filmed. After Cruise found out, he asked him if he could play a small walk-on role in the movie. The idea was that audiences would be taken off guard if someone like Estevez would be brought in just to die off in the first 10-15 minutes with the rest of his team. So Estevez shot a day or two, completely uncredited, as a favor to him as Tom Cruise had also appeared in a small cameo on Estevez's own "Young Guns" film several years prior.
The original Mission: Impossible TV series was always a "team" effort. Almost all of the actors who worked on the original series derided the film for killing everyone off and turning Jim Phelps (the team's leader, originally played by Peter Graves) into a villain in the film... but that did not stop audiences from going to see it.
The bad news is that the second Mission: Impossible movie comes after this one. The good news is that the next four Mission: Impossible movies are great and the third is basically a reboot of the series. Also, the character of Eugene Kittridge, the IMF director in this film does not appear in any of the yet subsequently released movies, but will be returning for the 7th film after a 27-year absence.
This is probably the only movie franchise where the later movies are better than the "OG" ones.
M:I 1 is good and M:I 2 is meh, but M:I 3 and onwards? Probably the best of the best when it comes to the action/spy genre.
So yeah... DEFINETLY continue reacting to this franchise.
Ok!! Great! That’s the impression I sorta have!
Mission 1 really made your head spin- even if you were paying attention- but all in all, it was a good start to the series
Mission 2 was terrible
Some people say they like it but it was clearly a different feel- made with stylistic action sequences that I found boring
Mission 3 is where things get back on track - the action has teeth- there’s real suspense and tension
And from there on every movie just gets better and better
@@richrobledo6561 I agree that 2 isn't the best but it does have the best line in the series said by Anthony Hopkins.
@@b.u.l.1734
BULLSHIT! First off, it is as weird, not a franchise, dumbass. A franchise is something you can buy into and then start your own, so Movies with sequels aren't franchises, they are SERIES, idiot.
Second, the first Mission impossible is by FAR the best.
Eh, not sure I agree.
you should definetly continue this genre! these movies just gonna get better and better :)
You're totally right that Emilio Estevez played the jock in Breakfast Club. You definitely know his dad and brother as well: Martin Sheen and Charlie Sheen. Emilio was the only one who chose to keep their original family name. He's been in some pretty big movies and franchises in the 1980s-2000s like Young Guns, Mighty Ducks, St. Elmo's Fire, Stakeout and the iconic Loaded Veapon, the crackhead version of Lethal Veapon. 😂 (I always preferred him over his brother. 😉)
@imajinallthepurple. Ha beat me to it. I second exactly everything you said.
Oo finally another person who prefers Emilio lol.
Charlie is the only one to legally change his name to Sheen though. Their dad Martin keeps Martin Sheen as his stage name only, but legally he’s still Ramon Estevez.
Not sure if you only meant stage, or both stage and legal. 😊
Charlie as a musketeer tho👀
Great 80s one also called “that was then this is now”. Emiliooooo had some great ones.
@@kj5181 one of his best roles totally underrated as Aramis
Yessssss I'm so excited that you're doing this series!!!
I'll take the CGI in this movie from the 90s over most of the CGI now. A lot of effects in modern movies just look so bad, imo. And it helps that the first Mission:Impossible has a great plot and story to go along with being a solid action movie.
That’s very true!
I love this movie for not being action focused like other MI movies.
I am excited! This is my favorite action franchise of all time. And I am probably in a minority but 2 is really not THAT bad in my opinion if you know what to expect. It has an AMAZING Hans Zimmer score. It is directed by John Woo film of Face/Off fame. There will be doves and super dramatic sequences. But it is not boring and it is a lot of fun.
0:22 - Mission: Impossible began as an action TV series in 1966 and ran for about 6 years. The movie came out in '96. The movie is actually a sequel to the series, because one of the original series main characters has an important role in the movie (they wanted the original actor to come back for the role, but he didn't like what they did with his character). The series has had a new instalment every few years since then, with the most recent one releasing only last year.
1:46 - That's 'KEEVE' (or 'Kreef' or whatever the new official pronunciation is).
2:45 - Cue iconic theme song! Dun! Dun! Dun DA dun! Dun! Don Dun DUN! Dun! Dun DA dun! Dun! Don Dun BA-Na-naaa...BA-Na-naaa...Ba-Na-naaaa...Ba DUN!! (Also, he gave her the antidote to the drug that made her look dead for the act.)
3:41 - The CIA is something else (not to mention real). IMF (the Impossible Mission Force) is an independent counter-espionage organization that specializes in completing missions that other National Security agencies deem (wait for it...) impossible. The efforts of IMF agents go completely unrecognized by the wider world and if an agent is ever discovered, caught, or killed, they are Disavowed: all record of their ties to the IMF are expunged and "the Secretary of Defense will disavow all knowledge of their actions."
15:22 - Welcome to Old Internet.
24:29 - Mythbusters actually thoroughly debunked the whole vent climbing thing in one of their movie myth episodes. Not only is the ferrous metal content of a vent duct way too low to efficiently support a human's body weight, the entire process is so loud, it would sound like heavy demolition going on inside your walls.
30:48 - In all of these heist films there's always the one innocent security guard that all of the sh@# ends up falling on.
42:41 - The trains that run the Channel Tunnel (Chunnel) go through it at around 100 MPH. Outside the Chunnel, they go around 186.
44:27 - Here comes the music change...
49:00 - Here's the theme from the original show (), plus a comparison video of all the movie themes, plus the 1988 TV series theme (ruclips.net/video/wQlboar3WdQ/видео.html).
The official pronunciation is Kyiv 🤨
The series gets better and better, especially the last 3 films!
It’s great that the computer guy wasn’t a stereotypical nerdy guy.
Agreed!!!
"What does it taste like?" Oh this stuff is the bomb. 🤭
The theme is based on the one from the original TV series in 1966. I got a suggestion for you guys it one of my favorite movies. The Final Countdown (1980) The U.S.S. Nimitz goes back to December 6th, 1941. It's filmed on the Nimitz.
Yes, definitely you should continue with this franchise. They get better and better. Part 2 is probably the worst one, but still good.
3 worst.
hate this color correction and ragged narration
Still very good and has IMO the best soundtrack from the whole series (I still have cassette tape with original soundtrack :D).
2 is def the worst.
John Woo definitely did the worse MI series.
Part 2 is the reason why I avoided watching any others until #6, because my father insisted on 'family movie nights' when I was a young teen and he wanted me to bond with the stepmother who hated me, and it was one of the ones that he insisted on watching.
I think the Mission Impossible movie series really kicked in with Mission Impossible 3. They got the formula down and perfected it with each movie after it.
Mission Impossible was the base frame upon which lots of other productions built their plots: a dynamic cast of specialists pulling off the craziest heists and scores by deception, infiltration, persuasion or demolition.
add military equipment and tyrannic warlords, you get the A-Team... add vehicles and hot chicks, you get The Furious Saga... add suits and casinos, that's Ocean's Eleven.
Please please do more. This franchise is worth it!
OH MY GOD YESSSSSS, please the mission impossible series!!! i reallyyyyy love it, tom cruise is just amazing out of this world talented
Tom Cruise actually learned magic tricks just for that scene in the movie
Of course he did lol
The first movie is so mild compared to where they take it afterwards.
I've wanted to ask for this franchise for weeks, I love how you guys always seem to predict my requests. very excited for this one! the movies just get better and better so keep watching it
We will keep em coming!!!
Tom Cruise did his own stunts throughout the whole Mission Impossible movies.
When this came out, Leon and Pulp Fiction were two of the coolest cult films around. To see Leon and Marsellus Wallace as part of Hunt's noc team blew everyone away. 'Kitteridge' was in Clear and Present Danger.
The Director Brian DePalma is a master of using the camera in epic fashion. His one shots are incredible. Check out his filmography.
Yay!! I could hang out while you guys watch anything. 😄
The beginning of one of my most favourite movie franchises! This was an awesome reaction, you guys figured out the plot really well, that was a criticism of this movie (convoluted plot). They made the plot deliberately simple in MI2.
FYI, the French TGV (a type of bullet train) typically cruises at around 186 mph with a top speed of 200 mph.
Love that you're watching these films, they definitely get better and better!
When you're done with these I would really like to see you react to Daniel Craig's James Bond movies!
I have a Paramount plus subscription. You guys reminded me how much I want to re-watch this movie tonight. Paramount should see you as an advertisement.
Man, I had completely forgotten that Emilio Estevez was in this! So when I saw him I was like oh damn was HE the mole or not or what the heck. I thought I remembered it fairly well but so much I had forgotten!
Great stuff guys, thanks!
I saw this film in cinema when it was released and I still love it today. It's the one that is more espionage than action based and that scene in the room at Langley was so awesome.
Yeah, watch them all. Thank you so much!
The Fish!!! Had me on the floor
Tom makes his own stunts in all MI movies.
That’s amazing!
Does his own stunts
Love your reaction guys. So entertaining. You had fun watching and it's great to see younger people appreciate these movies.
I Love the Mission Impossible movies please continue with the series
🖖
Loved the reaction. About watching the series, of course... they are excellent (the 2 is a little less good but is not bad neither)
In this cycle of action movies, i suggest you watch Ronin (1998 with Robert de Niro and Jean Reno).
Director : Let's use CGI
Tom: I am CGI Cruise Going Insane
Yes, definitely. You should watch aaaall of them!
love this franchise!
especially 4-5-6 parts!
I like how Nobu knew it was Jim within minutes, lol.
It was not about the dude protecting the list... it was about him being the person who knows it happened...
Hey! I remember requesting/suggesting Mission Impossible reactions on the community polls!
it came sooner than expected 😂😂
The smartest and best movie in the franchise. You should also see Jack Reacher.
Yes Tom Cruise really did that balancing on a wire heist scene.
Plz continue
Another fun fact the actress that plays Max she is the mother of late actress Natasha Richardson who passed away in a skiing accident Natasha was the late wife of actor Liam Neeson .
YES!!! I really hope you continue MI franchise. My favourite action series of all time. The films just get better & better.
14:40 - and there was that huge aquarium breaking in Europe (Germany?). 1500 fish!
Tom Cruise is now older than the guy who played Jim was in the first mission impossible. Yet Tom still looks and acts the part very well.
Ernest saves Christmas would be content gold this time of year! Love yalls content!
3-6 are the best movies ever
I saw this in the theaters when it came out and I was so glad my friends and I weren't the only ones laughing at the malformed email addresses Ethan used (that somehow still worked)..
Great franchise ❤️😍
i think you guys would love the goes wrong group! they do a lot of prop-play and all about a theatre group that don't have the best luck :')) they've got two longer plays ( peter pan goes wrong ( highly recommend ) or a christmas carol goes wrong ( perfect for this type of year !!! ) ) and a two series show of smaller anthology plays -- hope to see you guys watch it
Now that you mentioned it, the Scream franchise also started back in 1996 and it's currently at its 6th too.
Absolutely should keep watching this. First one was the origin story, and the seconds when they went far too hard into action but was still OK, but three on they hit the stride and they're just the perfect fun action movie with great stunts and cinematography
I love the Mission Impossible movies, it would be great to see the whole series with ya'll.
Absolutely continue the series!!! If yall want of course, these are my comfort movies and I definitely watch them more than I should😂 they can get silly at some points but I think that's the point
guys you should watch "Loaded Weapon 1" with Emilio Estevez!! so many cool cameos, references and overall chaotic fun.
I can't believe this movie is over 25 years old. I still remember seeing it in theatres as a teenager. Gaaaawd I feel old AF 😂
My friend and I would ALWAYS quote
" RED LIGHT , GREEN LIGHT " before messing ourselves up
The thing about the effects was it was changing so quick in the 90s, I remember the difference in the quality of the face masks being morning program/news worthy when they brought out Mission Impossible 2. So don't feel bad about saying it looks dated, I'm just glad you celebrate what they could do back then. These days you just throw computing power at the problem, these film makers pre-2000 were really having to come up with creative uses of models mixed with what CGI they could afford :)
The movie never explains it, but "NOC" is an actual espionage term, standing for "non-official cover." Basically the deepest of deep cover, working alone with no support.
This series is amazing. Loved the reaction Fellas!
To everyone near California I hope you guys are okay, I heard news about a massive earthquake just now and heard it was bad 😔
Tom Cruise a little older… I guess you could say that, he’s 60 years old
That is Jon Voight from National Treasure
By the way it's so insane how Tom Cruise has done all of his stunts in every movie he's ever done
Yes so glad you have watched this movie, they definitely get better after the second one.
Also I bought your 100k merch bottle about two months ago and it turns out it will arrive just in time for christmas! Great reaction hope to watch more of you soon!
Also as a question upon your first impressions do you think this or James bond is better (if you've watched it)?
Please, please, PLEASE watch the rest of this series! Somehow underrated even though its super popular, and I'm curious which movie you guys will like the most at the end!
The Franchise gets better other than 2 so definitely keep watching.
What up boys. I was late to this one but great as always. Definitely gotta do em all. Second is definitely the worse but still a guilty pleasure. Then they step the game up for the rest. Great series
Freaking love you guys!
How about a reaction to "For Richer, for Poorer" - comedy with Kristi Allen (RIP) and Tim Allen? In her memory?
Next to watch, the professional, Leon.
Please continue the series!! Just so you know, MI:2 really kinda sucks. But 3 and onwards is just a blast. So just get through 2 and you’re golden!!
Ok, well, I suppose we will manage lol
I would agree that the 2nd is the weakest of the series, but I'd hardly say it sucks. You'll still likely have a good time watching it. It's just that the others raise the bar so high that the first two pale in comparison.
It was a bit harder to guess the villain when the film came out since Jim Phelps was the main protagonist throughout the entire tv series, AND that it was enough of a shock that he seemed to die, along with the rest of the original team at the start of this movie, since they intentionally cast some fairly high-profile actors in what turned out to be decoy roles. ('Cause you kinda expected, at the time at least, that if someone like Emilio Estevez is playing one of the characters, he's not gonna die 5m into the film..) But it all really made the plot unpredictable.
And the writers of the tv series really did try to lean hard into the eponymous impossibility of the missions they came up with, at least a few of which reached beyond practicality with lengths the team went to to complete their mission. For instance, one of them was the team getting an old crook (William Shatner) to reveal the location of a murder victim from decades before, by drugging him, putting him in makeup or plastic surgery or something, and making him think he was reliving the day of the crime, with perfectly done sets and props and so on, in order to trick him into re-enacting the murder.
Glad you guys enjoyed this big screen theatrical version of the popular television series ( Mission Impossible ran from 1966 to 1973 ) Two of the original cast members from the tv series are still alive today Barbara Bain at 91 and Peter Lupus at 90. Reportedly when this move premiered in 1996 several of the original cast members attended the movie but word is some of them walked out before the end of the movie. Apparently some of the cast members didn't like the characterization of Jim Phelps ( originally portrayed by Peter Graves ) as a villain. If you guys get an opportunity you should watch a few of the original series episodes. You will both a great feel for how the original IMF team worked. How they had what seemed like almost unlimited resources at their disposal, and had the technical expertise to construct almost any environment to fool enemy spies in thinking what every they wanted them to believe much more than the movie series have shown.
So, you're watching Daredevil and he references Job. I thought of this movie and of Job. Most times it brings me back to Job/Max.
this franchise, at first was a little rough, slow, and not so interesting plot(compared to the next ones).. but as the franchise goes on it just gets better and better and better. i would say from mi2 it gets better.
You should watch the rest. It's amazing
