Go to hear punkrock. The Riot Grrrls a la Bikini Kill are the reason Alanis also has the opportunity to show her anger openly, especially for women, like her. German punks loves Alanis Morisette😊
She is utterly fascinating to listen to. The way she talks, you can tell how deeply intelligent and profound she is. A true musical genius and I don’t say that lightly
It is mind-blowing to realize that she has the looks of a supermodel, the intellect of scientist, is that intellectual, and has that much eloquence, isn't it?
I love to hear her speak, so eloquent, intelligent, and interesting. I mean, describing her music in terms of colors... brilliant!. Very few artists have such depth and self-awareness as Alanis.
@Wenthony, I am so with you on your statement! What a brilliant woman and such a pleasure to hear her speak what is true and real. And she's so adorable when she smiles and chuckles at what's been said. Love her!!!
Alanis' music, lyrics, and level of consciousness is beyond the comprehension of many who look to compare her to other pop musicians. The expressions in her music are sensitive, intimate, deep, intelligent, and filled with wisdom, insight and realizations.
This is phenomenal, she is phenomenal and a role model for me. Growing up listening to her music, it didnt hit me on a deeper level till much later. Alanis knows whats up. I love her so much.
Best Comments to read here are by the many women who are moved by her music and her as a person. The influence she's had on so many young women, and into their Adulthood is pretty fucking kool ...given so many young women and teenagers of today are so enthralled by the likes of Kardashian's / Jenner's which is mostly superficial bullshit. Alanis and women like her are Real.
The questions the people directed were so well-worded. I might choke in front of her but deep and prodding questions that were so well analyzed and it was neat to hear her personal spin put on the spot. Alanis fans are really good people. I'm lucky to have met so many of you from all over the world...
I love listening to Alanis speak. Loved her since 93! I just found out last year that we have the same personality type...INFJ! It's the rarest type! It's no wonder why I like her!!!
@MariahYanez EL, is that right??? No wonder I love her too. It's a tough personality type to live with in one respect, yet on the other hand, it's just "normal". Great to know! Thanks
Alanis is a true Lady and, quoting the interviewer, a smart person. It must be wonderful to be able to enjoy her company and wisdom. She is far from perfect - we all are - but she had the bravery to search, to question and shout out loud all that aflicts a human being. I never thought I'd be identifying myself so much with her songs at the age of 7, but something struck me because she remains today as one of my greatest idols!
ALANIS I BOW TO YOU your an amazing singer/song writer you changed the landscape of music in my life I'm 58 year's old and will be a fan till I die so keep doing what you're doing and the longer I will be there ❤️❤️❤️
so jealous of everyone who s been there.. but thanks for your questions, they were pretty interesting. Alanis is one of a kind. changed so many lives including mine
Just imagine, her original record label dump her because she wanted to write her own songs, then she got Jagged little pills out, they're still crying to this day.
My daughter calls Alanis because of this wonderful woman, she inspires me since 1998 When I found her music in a soup opera here in Brazil called SUAVE VENENO, after this ? I became an Alanis' Brazilian fan and i keeping following her steps in every single new from her. Sorry for my bad english skills, i'm practicing.
As long as you look back at your past self and cringe, it means you're growing/clarifying. May we all look back and cringe the rest of our days! We're all stupid and completely incapable of knowing the full spectrum of our potential while navigating in this body and this sensory environment. Don't be hard on yourself. The fact that you're capable of knowing that you understand so little about yourself, means that you're moving toward it right now. So many go to their graves without a single moment of self-reflection or spend every waking minute coming up with distractions to avoid it. Warmth from Kentucky.
I never knew what she looked like. I used to love her stuff in the 90's. But then I lost track. She is really a beautiful and awesomely talented person.
Well Alanis. This is the first interview with you that I've seen. You had my "full attention" all the way through. You touched on a lot of topics I've often found myself tortuously questioning over the years. All I can say is "thank you". It's not by any means an epiphany but certainly a nudge in the right direction for me spiritually, ...a wholesome new way to view life, humanity and how I will persevere on my journey.
Alanis is smart. She is brave and expresses her truths. I love hearing her story of growing up and expressing herself deeply inward. She was grand as a judge on American Idol recently. Cannot wait to buy her new album in August.
If I was to ask a question, mine would be: I remember the Guns, Aerosmith eat the rich, I remember Silverchair videos and songs (I have 2 cds of them), all greatness of the 90s, and you of course, people loved music and artists.., all the music of the sort, Joan Osbourne - One of us, Soul Assylum Misery, Foo fighters everlong, Bjork many songs of her, Smashing Pumpkins 1979. I dont know, I could be all the day giving lists and lists. . What happened!!! why did all dissappear?? Suddenly nobody can produce anything with spirit?? Now mountains and mountains of crap and trap and reggaeton, even rock at present sounds empty.. Nobody has good taste anymore?? Not only about the music, also aestheticly, even if you watch Alice DeeJ better off alone video you have takes and costumes.. It seems in the 90s there was a spirit, a cool spirit. What happened to the spirit, to all that greatness, all that creativity?? Where did all go?? Because at present there is nothing that I feel attracted to, all I play with my guitar and music production station is music from the 90's..
Those spirit-filled songs and albums are still released. But now the top 40 has shifted entirely, so they are not heard unless you activively seek them out
So incredibly beautiful. Inside and out. I've come to appreciate her more later in my life than I did when I was younger and she was so popular. Jagged Little Pill is an absolute masterpiece full of hit after hit
Ruben, Thank you so very much for sharing this. I just finished watching the whole thing and I feel blessed I got to see this, I love Alanis, and this lovely, unique and really nice interview was food to my spirit. Hugs
The first CD I ever bought. Thank you Alanis ❤️ And I'd lay on my floor in the dark right in front of my loud JVC floor model stereo system and belted the lyrics right along with her. That was living after everyone went to sleep in my neighborhood.
I agree. He really sounds like he did his homework. I wonder if he’s a true fan of her work. I’ve never really listened to Alanis interviews until the pandemic but I really like hearing what she has to say. And she’s beautiful ☺️
Thank you for pointing this out. He’s incredibly empathic and smart, he really knew what to ask and how to conduct the thread of the interview. Brilliant. He mentioned “Incomplete” the last song from Flavors of Entanglement and I’m sure none of the usual interviewers or music journalists even know that song exists and what is about. They were a treat to listen to. Alanis’ sense of humor shone through the whole interview which is difficult when the interviewer doesn’t know how to respond to her energy.
Did not know you this way and glad able to find out more about who you are and what helped you become who you are. Follow what tells you your soul. Used to write daily diary for years. Fell forgot to be deeper. Was too young and had to widen my horizons. We all need the time and right place to find ourselves.
Great interview: good back-and-forth energy, making the dialogue refreshingly authentic and insightful commentary on the artist's journey and spiritual evolution!
She has integrity...she didn't dye her hair blond like everyone else. I don't see any tattoos, either. Have so much respect for her. She's real. She's so well-spoken. Great interview. The audience and the questions need to be applauded.
Oh to know oneself so well and speak about it like this in front of the world, what must that be like? Thank you for letting me see you and know that there is a possibility that I could be as good as you, because I feel I understand what you’re saying, and your music speaks to me, so I feel like I’m in the club. Although I’ve never met you, it doesn’t matter. How beautiful you are to me, you make me want to be a better person. 🌸
JLP is more her debut global album. Alanis' first album was her self-titled dance pop but was only released in Canada. But this was actually a good album.
Yeah she nailed it when she mentioned the split in the professional psychotherapy world. I’m still surprised when I come across these either/or biases against the spirituality new age-y woo stuff - which nevertheless has been busy already healing the common folk who cannot afford the PhD fees. I hope Alanis is correct that therapists are now drawing on more varied tools from a bigger toolbox.
this is one of the the seldom things in life I exactly know when and how I had first contact with!!! One of the best albums ever is jagged little pill -> I just love it from first to last sound!!!!
No shining fake make-up, No glamorous designer dress, No cleavage-booty exposure. I missed this kind of musician today.
fake makeup, nice
during her pop star days she had glamorous dresses but no booty exposure.
Go to hear punkrock. The Riot Grrrls a la Bikini Kill are the reason Alanis also has the opportunity to show her anger openly, especially for women, like her. German punks loves Alanis Morisette😊
This is one of the best conversations between two people that I’ve heard in a long time.
Dido.
She is utterly fascinating to listen to. The way she talks, you can tell how deeply intelligent and profound she is. A true musical genius and I don’t say that lightly
Pure, beautiful genius is Alanis. There is nothing more appealing than listening to an intelligent, intellectual, eloquent person talking.
It is mind-blowing to realize that she has the looks of a supermodel, the intellect of scientist, is that intellectual, and has that much eloquence, isn't it?
@@TheOriginalMyocardia
Supermodel? Not quite. Love her, but I don’t think she’s that good looking 😬
@@carolynloughran5450 You're right. She's better looking than a super model.
@@TheOriginalMyocardia she's not a supermodel, but she has a very unique and appealing look and an awesome energy.

she's amazing so intelligent and a beautiful soul
elHEARTBREAKER it's true.
@Wenthony, I am so with you on your statement! What a brilliant woman and such a pleasure to hear her speak what is true and real. And she's so adorable when she smiles and chuckles at what's been said. Love her!!!
She could have been anything - a heart surgeon, an astronaut, an architect. We are so lucky that she chose music (or that music chose her).
Alanis' music, lyrics, and level of consciousness is beyond the comprehension of many who look to compare her to other pop musicians. The expressions in her music are sensitive, intimate, deep, intelligent, and filled with wisdom, insight and realizations.
OMG....give it up dude she's not beyond comprehension.
@@summertea545 Oh, are you one of those trolls I've been hearing of?
Nice to meet one in person...
Salute
Totally agree with every word you writen here!
Beautiful and sensible description.
Very well put! she's like no other
This is phenomenal, she is phenomenal and a role model for me. Growing up listening to her music, it didnt hit me on a deeper level till much later. Alanis knows whats up. I love her so much.
l love that she still has the long hair. I love her long hair.
That's an fantastic interview! Respect to the journalist.

She's a really wise and fun person.
I cant stop loving her, she was the first female figure I felt related to
I love her personality she is so open and transparent and kind and seems so funny
One of the best interviews I’ve ever seen in my whole life. I couldn’t explain how this woman means to me .. thank u Alanis ❤️
I can simply listen to her voice all day. 💕 💕 💕

Alanis is highly intelligent, unbelievably beautiful and so very nice, I melt every time she smiles. The interviewer's awkwardness is massive!
Power of a Strong Woman..she Rocks🖤💜
Still hot, I'd say hotter. Also very smart lady which is even more attractive.
She's got that hot mom look to her.
She just seems cool af

An amazing voice, a true and incredibly authentic performer. One of the best ever. She has the ability to deliver emotion to any degree at will. Wow.
A kind soul.So beautiful..in every way. She is absolutely brilliant and indestructible. Heartwarming and real.
@markwilharm and it is so inspiring and refreshing. I'm sure I will continue to listen to this more than once!
I could have easily watched 10 hours of this. I didn't want it to end. What an incredible interview.
I wanted to comment but can't for some reason but your words more or less summed up what I feel. A superbeing being interviewed by a wise man!
I wrote that before 1:09
Sublime so intuitive and a pleasure to listen to.
She's so Intellectual, such a good vocabulary!
Thank you for uploading this wonderful interview 👍😊
Absolutely wonderful interview with a phenomenal artist :)
I took my son and stepdaughter to see her way back in the day......
Now alanis morissette has saved my daughter......I can't thank her enough.

I think the interviewer does a great job and I cannot understand, why we are not given the name of this journalist
such beautiful being, such songs and the reporter led so smart the whole dialogue

She did and she has.
Alanis is beautiful and one of my favourite singers to listen to and those boots look awesome!
So eloquent and sincere!
Her manager at the time ripped her off big time and nearly caused her to go broke. She will recover and I wish all the best to her and her family too.

Greater interviewer. Asks great questions and pulls out interesting answers from Alanis.
He’s awesome, it’s one of the interviews with more substance I’ve watch from her.
Like Homer Simpson when he's yelling in nuclear power station wearing his special antinuclear suit
I am so moved by the like mindedness just no words at this time.

Alanis Frikken Morissette. She is literally so evolved consciously. She is a guru of life honestly.
When you had some organic obligation to throw negativity out of yourself.
A fascinating soul, mirror and fellow twin.
I'm going to see her next week in Amsterdam. I'm so excited. She means so much to me ♥️
the most beautiful soul
Now she is a real artist. Well spoken too. Truly knows how to handle herself in her communication with others.
Thank you for this upload
She has such healthy skin and hair. Lucky
