      Hey BYD I have roughly 18,000 sq ft in my front yard. I’m using a 4 gallon battery sprayer. How much prodiamine to use? I have a measuring scale and my formula is .43 * 4 gallons = 1.72. Do you think it’s better to use my 25 gallon tank sprayer or 4 gallon battery sprayer?

    Just ordered the prodiamine. Ty for making this transaction easy. Ty for the information. I dropped a lawn service after comparing my yard to my neighbors. They were using the same service. My yard looks much better than theirs but I also did three fertilizer treatments and two weed treatments on my own. I’ll save the $1100 and do it myself. Figure half the money for treating the lawn myself.

    @JoNathanB1976 4 года назад +17

    I did the math on the $20 prodiamine and it comes out way too expensive per ounce. The $65 prodiamine gives you 16 times more product. They should cut that 5 ounce pack in half, then it would make better sense to buy it. I can see buying it as someone wanting to try out prodiamine, but to repeatedly purchase year after year doesn't seem smart to me, even if you have a small yard. If it were $10 for 5 ounces or $20 for 10 ounce, I could see buying it repeatedly on an infrequent basis where I need just a little.

    • @tonyw2770
      @tonyw2770 4 года назад +6

      The problem with buying the bigger bottle for the average home buyer is the shelf life. For the vast majority of us buying the bigger bottle would be a waste of money as the prodiamine will have reached its shelf life before we use all of the product.

      @@tonyw2770 stated shelf life is 3 years. Just like the shelf life of many drugs such as aspirin which is 5 years they are more than stable and work well beyond. Prodiamine is in a stable form of WDG so it shouldn't loose any of it's effectiveness for several years past the "shelf life". 5lbs is the way to go.

      Is this BermudaGrass?, if so and you are doing two apps of prodiamine in a season it’s .43 or .46 oz per per 1k sq ft. Which means you’ll need about 8.25 oz total prodiamine. So in that 5 gal sprayer you’ll only need 2.3 oz of prodiamine and you’ll only be covering 5k sq ft at 1 gallon water 💦 per 1k s ft at a rate of .46 oz per 1k. So you’ll need to use that 5 gal four times. The for one only 3 gallons of water with only 1.38 of prodiamine. Hope this helps 👍🏾

      barb wil , yes, but don’t apply both over entire lawn at same time. Splitting it up prodiamine in front and dithiopyr in back is a great way to test each one 👍🏾

    Will prodiamine work on nutsedge?

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral
      @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral  4 года назад +1

      It won’t kill actively growing nutsedge but can help control the growth. Issues is most of the prodiamine may be gone or worn out when nutsedge starts to sprout. Key to killing that is to used a post emergent as soon as you see it.

    Do i have to water in the prodiamine immediately or can it wait a day or so? i heard 3 days max.

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral
      @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral  2 года назад

      Best results when you water in immediately. Generally you have up to 14 days. Waiting a day or so won’t hurt the effectiveness though. But it won’t start working until it’s watered in.

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral

      Eddie Hurtado best best results water 💦 in immediately but you can also let Mother Nature lightly water 💦 it in for you. Some instructions say you have at least 14 days to do so. But heavy rains storms may wash some product away. This is why I recommend you water 💦 it in ASAP 👍🏾

    Hey BYD, my yard roughly 5000 sqft, bermuda grass, in March 2020, I applied max rate recommended 0.83 per gallon of water in a 4 gallons pump spray, so total was 3.32 oz of Prodiamine. Can I re-apply the same rate sometimes in October 2020? If so, is it going to hurt my bermuda grass? TIA.

    • @BYDonBermudaGrassCentral

      Danny Nguyen nope, your done for 12 months which means March of 2021. Now you can apply the Sunniland 007 which is Dithiopyr , a different class of pre emergent. Not the 007 lesco

      Danny Nguyen Sunnilands 007, it can be purchased at Some Lowe’s, download the Lowe’s app to see if they carry it in your area. Lesco has a 19-0-7 at Home Depot but you don’t need the nitrogen in the Fall plus is like 50 🦌’s a bag
