    My question is about the problem with 360 2 in 1 convertibles in general. If using Photoshop or any software, after folding the keyboard back you loose shortcuts and hotkeys mostly. Do you have a touchscreen solution for this? (apps, extensions) Could you do a review or let me know? There is "Tablet Pro" and others is seen on RUclips that put a side bar of shortcuts on screen, but I haven't tried any of these yet. Hoping for a review. Fantastic review! Would love to see your thoughts on the 5500u. The average person isn't buying this model and while it's great to see how powerful the 5700 is with 16 GB ram, HPs target audience isn't buying this $1,000 version when it starts at around less than $700. It's hard for an everyday consumer to make a judgment without a more realistic comparison. Just my two cents.

      @Punkbars 2 года назад +2

      U think that would be good, I'm new to laptop world and planning to buy a laptop, Bestbuy has deal going for amd 5700u with 16gb ram, the only thing is it's brightness is 250 nits,

    • @MadMyke101
      @MadMyke101 2 года назад +3

      @@Punkbars I ended up customizing mine at HP's website. I consulted a lot of people before I bought and ended up with the 5500u (I'm not a gamer or content producer so the 5700u was a bit overkill for me), 16gb ram, and the 400 not screen. I am super happy with its performance so far. The 16 gigs of RAM really shows and it runs buttery smooth. If I had to do it again, I would not purchase the 5700u because I'm not actually utilizing that extra power so it's basically sitting idle (at least that's how it was been explained to me). You look at the screen every single time you use the computer though so 400 nits was important and I can definitely say I would not buy the 250 nit version. My only qualm would be the build quality. Personally the trackpad feels a bit cheap and while it's wrapped in metal, it's pretty thin metal compared to something like a MacBook pro which feels much more premium but that's also what you pay for.

    Omg 😳 I’m from Canada but i live currently in Japan and today i was going to buy this laptop but i was so lucky to come accidentally to this video! 😮 i definitely decided not to buy it after i saw 250 comments from people that faced the same issue and had a nightmare with HP .
    The problem isn’t exclusive to this model only but a lot of other HP laptop models as well. I have friends who live in Europe who was unlucky to buy normal HP laptops ( not 2 in 1 / convertible) and had huge issues with them . Some of my friends ended up smashing their Hp laptop with anger 😢
    Me myself is a regular user for Lenovo laptops . I owned lenovo 360 convertible since 2016 until 2023 and been closing and opening the hinges roughly on daily basis and nothing happened until now. But the only reason i wanted to switch to this HP model that they said it’s smaller and lighter than Lenovo ! But now i know it’s not worth it.
    I advise everyone to buy Thinkpad Lenovo convertibles as they’re really the toughest business laptops in the market. They’re even used on board of the space stations and the rough engineering environments.
    Avoid buying HP , DELL , Panasonic laptops at all costs.

    I have a question, I saw mixed answers but another guy's review said there are NO front firing speakers. Is that true? I see there's the appearance of front firing speakers on the front along with the speaker's name. I've never seen vents disguised as speakers before and it wouldn't make sense for them to put fake speakers. I went to best buy to try out this laptop and it got really loud compared to all the other ultrabooks and i thought(think?) it is because of the front firing speakers. Online I saw some people saying they couldn't get those speakers to work, and wondered the same thing. I really like big clear sound on my laptops and I didn't want to get a macbook since I'm on a budget.

    I'm having "choice paralysis" with pc's right now. I currently use a loud (fan), incredibly heavy desktop tower and an old HP laptop when portable. I've looked at mini pc's, but haven't figured out how to go mobile from things I'm working on at home seamlessly with a separate laptop. So, maybe it's best I get a good, updated laptop to plug into a hub stand and use it as my desktop unit, too? That said, I do some audio editing for voiceover work, I use Ps and Lr for my photography, I'm learning to be a software developer, I only do minecraft for "gaming", and will be dabbling in video editing for drone work. I tend to have multiple tabs open, and more than one program going at a time. For VO work, I need something pretty quiet, and when mobile, something that stays relatively cool, and is lightweight (4lbs or under) with a num pad and fingerprint reader or Windows Hello. (How does that work when closed and being used as a cpu?) Any recommendations below $1400 usd with a discrete gpu? Or does that exist in a thin, lightweight laptop?

      I think some nice gaming laptop could work for you really well. The Legion laptops from Lenovo are priced really competetively for what they offer. Also there is this one 14 inch convertible laptop with 1660 gpu with asus proprietaly port for externat GPU. So you could have a powerful small laptop on the go and a dock with very powerful external gpu for it when stationary. I think that it is the Flow line of Asus laptops.

My other gripe which many others share - 720P camera?? Really?? I would have gladly paid the $10 extra for a decent camera. One last thing - Do not trust HP specs. I've had this laptop since it came out in early April. While it is a great machine, it does have a few quirks. A lot of bloatware. Get rid of it before using it, including Amazon Alexa, it's not needed or wanted. In the latest Windows upda there is a driver and BIOS update that has to be done for stability. The Radeon Vega 8 graphics are great for some games and YMMV with that. But I have the Ryzen 7 5700U version of this and it does quite well.
    Like I said, get rid of the bloatware first, it will be a less painful experience.

    I have this computer, and it is not sturdy. The screen is popping out on the right bottom side. The shop wanted 200 dollars to repair it.

    One of the first Lisa videos of a laptop that is actually something I'd eye for myself. Not to say I don't love her videos - I do. But normally they're fun because they are so niche. But this one I might actually get!!! I wonder if they have a non-365 version of this that bumps the specs for a similar price.

    It's a good laptop, especially the Ryzen 7. However, I would advise against buying it. It has a recurring issue where the hinges become stiff and the screen pops out every 1 year, 6 months, or 2 years. You'll be left with the need to repair something that is completely unnecessary, with no warranty assistance. If possible, I recommend purchasing another laptop and having a Mac as a backup, as most of these laptops are not built to last. I apologize if you were excited about buying this laptop. I am currently using it and seeking help to fix an issue that is not my fault. Unfortunately, I find myself in this situation, but you have the opportunity to avoid this unnecessary problem.

    How is the Envy X360 with the ryzen 5 5500u with CAD programs? I would like to run SolidWorks and fusion 360 on this machine.

    • @MadMyke101
      @MadMyke101 2 года назад

      I would like to know this too. No reviewer is talking about the 5500u but rather only the highest model of this laptop (16gb, 400nit screen etc) which is understandable because tech reviewers want the best of the best but not the most useful for everyday people.

    HP has no 15 inch convertible with 16 GB RAM on sale in Canada, so i had to go with the Lenovo yoga 7i. Otherwise I love the design of the HP Envy. Lenovo has the number pad and the offset trackpad. I prefer having no number pad and a trackpad in the center like the Envy. Oh well HP has to start offering more choice to Canadians.

    To people who buy 2in1 laptops: does the keyboard get dirty or scratched from being facedown when its in tablet mode? How do you protect your keyboard?

    • @mini9503
      @mini9503 3 года назад

      Depends on the convertible laptop. The good ones will have a design where keyboard is on the same level as the rest of the deck, and has tiny rubber feet on the keyboard deck and palmrest, that elevates the laptop and keeps it from sliding when in tablet mode. Bad ones will not have any of these features, so you gotta do your laptop research before buying. These details are hard to tell from by picture. So really the best thing is to take a day and visit a hardware shop, check out the laptop you want in person.

    Does anyone know how this hp does with photo editing/graphics

    • @nattieCSH
      @nattieCSH 3 года назад +4

      the biggest downside is the display's colour gamut being limited to that 100% SRGB colour space, which isn't terrible in my experience, but not "pro" grade
      performance, at least on my older 16gb ryzen 7 3700u model has been pretty fantastic, completed most of my architecture masters coursework on it, which covered a range of CAD, 3D modelling and photoshop tasks. (I also recommend Serif Affinity Photo if you want to save cash, it's amazing)
      The only thing In my experience that makes this laptop cry is 4K video editing.

    Just few questions
    1. Why Do the laptop come with smaller up/down arrows? The legendary thinkpad have given the proper keys for up/dowbn arrows. The normal people migh not feel the pain but as a developer it really annoying navigating code editors.
    2. Anyone tell me the value of the laptop doing yoga pose folding to back side does it make any million dollar business?
    3. When recemt version HP laptop boot it says "HP sure start" the company is making fun here.
