Thanks for posting this! Didn’t think I would see this again. I was there supporting the Toon in the Kop doing my best to hide my delight when the penalty went in! Absolute one way traffic for almost the entire 90 minutes and quite frankly a ridiculous result but a memory I will always cherish!
Sparko, thanks for this man. I had the official barclays division 1 vhs video of this match that went awol many years ago. This was my first trip to Anfield and to this day do still not know how we won this match, it was pretty much one way traffic for 90 minutes. As alway's the Anfield Road end was buzzing but the difference was that we actually got a rare Anfield victory. Certainly one of my top 3 away trips of all time. Thanks again for the upload.
Costly defeat for Liverpool when you think of the drama against Arsenal (it's up for grabs now) in the very last minute of the last match of the season. Typical Newcastle though - ended up getting relegated. Great to see this though, had only ever seen Hendrie's goal on a goals review video of that season.
I remember listening to it on Metro FM, a North East based Radio Station. I was 10. I remember going mental when we scored the winner as it was a massive achievement to win at Anfield for anyone, nevermind Newcastle! Shame, that was as good as it got for NUFC that season.....6 more wins and relegation....
i actually remember being at home (i was 13) on a Saturday afternoon, checking Teletext, as i always did for the scores and was dismayed when i saw Mirandinha's name flash up. I was a Liverpool fan.
I was there just behind the goal when he scored that winning pen , remember him running sideways with one arm behind his back rubbing it in to all of our fans , I was only 17
Beasant had one of his rare good games this day. Great win and all you can hear are the Geordie fans. Brilliant
I just love this Liverpool team,so inventive,so relentless, they were the perfect team. Never get tired of watching them. Amen.

Pleasure. A huge 80s highlight, still talked about today
what a rhythm this game had, if it wasn't for the retro shirts or the poor quality of the video I'd think that it was played after the year 2000 :)

An absolute pleasure mate, it was good to watch it again!
Fabulous win.A pity about the rest of the season though.

Super Johnny Hendrie 🙌🏻
A very good player in an awful team with a split dressing room. The club were trying to sell him as soon as Jim Smith arrived! Shocking really.
A great win.A pity about the rest of the season though.
Aye, oddly, i look back on this season rather fondly! 10-11 years old, i was hooked! It got worse before it got much better
Yes,that's one thing I've learnt about supporting Newcastle, is its mostly bitter disappointment and clenched teeth. :)
Always good to see Liverpool lose, and it's even better when Newcastle win.
Hopefully you'll be relegated....again LMAOOOOOOOOO
Scousers weren’t too happy when we were leaving the ground.😂😂😂😂😂 luckily there was enough of us to see them off.
Mira winding up the scousers 😂😂
You haven't found my video tape fella lol
