Now I know the secret of why you cook so well. It runs in your family! This looks amazing!! I think my friend and I are going to get together and make a big batch of this and split it. We freeze it in lunch size portions and voila, instant lunch. This works well when one is older and lives alone. Thanks for this lovely recipe!!
@@deborahasher176 Swedish meatballs have ground beef and ground pork, as well as nutmeg and allspice. Swedish meatballs don't have sour cream either, heavy cream is used. Stroganoff has sour cream. I'm not sure what she is making, but they are not Swedish meatballs. I'm not trying to be mean..just stating facts. It would be embarrassing to serve this to guests and tell them they are Swedish meatballs.... they are not even close.
Delicious recipe, Catherine!! I made it for dinner for my 13 yr old son and I tonight, and he adored it; even went back for a second helping, lol. Thanks so much for this great family recipe of yours!😁
I love meatballs. Went to the recipe and it was right there. I will make this hopefully soon. I make a spaghetti sauce and I cook it for at least 5 hours, meatballs, sausage a lot in the sauce. Your food always looks so yummy. It is very yummy as my hubby loves the meals I got from you. Thank you for sharing your recipes.
I have been watching you for a while, and I think you are a amazing cook. Thank you for making easy recipes for us every day women, who are watching our pennies.
Your recipe looks so easy and will definitely try this in next week or so. Most Swedish Meatball recipes that I see, call for frozen meatballs, but yours look amazing and I'm sure taste delicious! Thanks for sharing! 😊
I should have said long ago that your trick of drawing grease from the pan by paper towels is one of the BEST hints EVER!! I use it all the time!!! Thanks!! And Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
These look like true comfort food, perfect for the fall and winter. I especially love the large pieces of onion in each meatball. They must have so much flavor.
I was literally just wondering what to do for dinner with the hamburger Im thawing out. PERFECT IDEA Miss Catherine! Ive made this recipe pretty much identical to yours except for the one pot method (which im going to do tonight.) I havent made it for over a year I believe, because Im a lazy meatball maker lol. Thanks so much for a wonderful idea! God bless, Shirley.
@@CatherinesPlates It was so so amazingly GOOD! Theyre were leftovers for about a minute, then they disappeared too. YUMMM! God bless Miss Catherine, Shirley
I’m surprised you didn’t add a sprinkle of nutmeg to the meatballs or sauce or both. I don’t know why or where I ever learned this but I add a little sprinkle of nutmeg and/or all spice to both. It’s a nice touch. Thank you for another great recipe idea.
I like to saute my onions and minced garlic in butter and olive oil before I add them to the meat. I saute the meatballs in butter and olive oil, just to give them a nice color, then I put them in a 9 x 13 glass dish, drizzle them in more butter and olive oil, and set the temp to 350 degrees until they are done 30-40 minutes). I do this with spaghetti meatballs too. They are not quick, or lowfat, but they sure are tender, juicy, and delicious! 😀👍
Catherine, I just made this dish for dinner and it was so good! I used better than bouillon in beef flavor and did end up adding 2 more cups of liquid broth. Everything else I followed to a T. My husband loved it too! This is a keeper for sure! Thanks for sharing
I am'so glad to have found your channel! You make things so much easier, and also easy to follow you. I can't wait to try this recipe, and several others. Thank you for making my cooking life better!
I would add some fresh nutmeg to the gr. beef. I use half beef stock and half cream of mushroom I add milk as well. You can put fresh nutmeg to the sauce as well.
I want to thank you and your mom for giving us this recipe to us, it's so nice that you giving up a recipe that has been in your family, I can't wait to make and try it, I'm sure like with all your recipes it's going to be out of this world, hugs
I always use the No Yolk noodles (usually the dumpling size) and they work great. They are also low to no fat in the noodles, good for anyone but because of health issues I have to watch fat intake and they are reall good. Love this recipe Catherine and I will definitely make this.
I make a similar meatball but dice my onion much smaller. I make a beefy sweet and sour gravy type sauce and serve over steamed rice. I do love a good Swedish meatball and noodles meal. Making your recipe tonight., but with smaller dice on onions, lol 😉
Looks absolutely delicious Catherine. I am lazy since I use the Ikea brand meatballs and basically put them in a mini crockpot with French onion soup, cream of celery soup and sour cream.
Hello Catherine 😀.I love this recipe.lots of great flavors.thank you so much for sharing your recipe 😋👍😋👍 good wishes and God's blessings to you all 😎🤠🤠🤠👍🤠👍👍👍💐💐💐💛
Hello Catherine, I'm new to your channel. This will he the first of your recipes that I will make. My grocery store had a buy one, get one free sale on these noodles. Anyway, I want to thank you for this recipe. If you have any more with these noodles, I hope you'll share those recipes too. Thank you! 😋🍓🍏🍇🍎🍉🌸

I love one pot dishes and I love the egg noodles with sour cream added to the pasta and meatballs
Good and easy 😀 I’d consider this meatball stroganoff, I make Swedish with cream cheese and nutmeg
Yes, I always thought that Swedish meatballs contain nutmeg. Mine do and my gravy is cream based too.

This was sooo good . The only thing I did differently was instead of sour cream I stirred in cream of mushroom soup 💜
Thanks for the suggestion of adding Cream of Mushroom instead of the sour cream as me and sour cream don't get along.
