Absolut fantastisch! Absolut professionell. Da kann man nit meckern.
Having listened to this concert multiple times and comparing it with the many many other concerts & single pieces Jonathan & Tom have uploaded I have come to the conclusion that in my own opinion the Great Siefert Organ in Kevelaer is the best Jonathan has played.
The arrangements composed by Jonathan are perfect to magnify the symphonic features of that mighty romantic organ. I can image the emotion to play this wonderful programme. Thanks to Jonathan and Tom for this new concert.
Pure joy & no contest or apprentice here; Jonathan continues to be the master of organ transcription. A grand instrument & an intense performance. Was swept away by the beautiful colors, delicate & bold, emanating from the organ & the Basilica. Bravo! Thanks for sharing. esp❤ the Vivaldi. 💐💐🎹🎶
I visited the live concert and it was over the moon. Here you can't here the questioning and answere games between the main organ, the choir organ and the tubular bells. Jonathan painted a dolby surround sound picture using the whole church as the stage. It was incredible. La Folia burned into my hart. I love it and I hope this was not the last time he played it live. Until next time, this recording will comfort me. Thank you Jonathan and thank you Tom for recording and filming this so carefully.🤔💖🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
The concert has been spectacular as well as the filming of it. A great start with incredible images of the place. The basilica, needless to say, is beautiful and the organ is wonderful as well as sounding impressive. I loved Vivaldi's La Folia because of the amount of registers you use, the different colors of the sounds...and I was amazed by the great virtuosity and glissando of the pedal as well as the bells and percussion!! In Dukas' work it is a colossal work, you can see the great complexity and great virtuosity that only a genius like Jonathan can interpret it. The most amazing thing is how we can see that such a complex work seems to be played with such ease that it requires no effort for him!! Congratulations and many thanks also to Tom, without his recordings we would not be able to admire or enjoy such a masterpiece!!💖❤👏👏👏😘😘
This online concert was incredible! Both Jonathan's performance and Tom's video are incredibly beautiful! For me, this is one of your most beautiful videos! Congratulations! ❤❤🥰
The "rebirth" of this organ was so aptly displayed by Jonathan's rendition of Ode to Joy, magnificently and majestically brought forth, and in a visual of Tom's of the blue sky surrounding the basilica with the trees just bringing forth new green leaves. Perfectly paired, perfectly played and perfectly presented. Thank you both so very much.
OMG! I am not sure if Scott - like Bach (Beethoven, Berlioz, Mozart, and others)- was even born on this planet, but, we do thank you for visiting. Thank God you are young so you can continue to enthrall us down here. Gracia a ti.
Magnificent basilica just doesn’t begin to describe it and the music didn’t come second best either . I just loved , loved that glorious Wagnerian score reverberating through my body , you don’t know what it mean to those of us that live far away from these cultural centres to be able to hear and see these beautiful treasures for ourselves , may you both be richly blessed in equal measure !
Amazing place and organ. Masterful concert. Beautiful video, Tom. Jonathan great! You always manage to outdo yourself. Excellent explanatory introductions. A concert to be listened and enjoyed many times. Bit by bit. Wonderful and moving rendition of La Folia. ❤❤ al best
Oh, that was so, so good!!! Thank you both for bringing us this incredible concert. The Basilica is so beautiful & the organ is huge & sounds wonderful. You certainly don't make life easy for yourself Jonathan! That programme must have given you quite a workout!! I love watching your concerts because there are usually wonderful pieces on the programmes which I know & enjoy but you often include pieces which are new to me & expand my musical knowledge, so thank you for that. Once again, thank you both for this amazing concert, the sights & sounds were stunning! xx
Since hearing Jonathan’s first transcriptions a few years ago now, I’ve looked forward to the day he would bring us Die Meistersinger Overture, and it did not disappoint: thrilling music, organ, space, performer and videographer.
Thank you for this wonderfully done video of this great concert! Being there and listening to the performance live was quite an experience, wich cannot be fully captured here. The sound coming from both the main organ and the Fernwerk, and then the tubular bells from behind the altar, what a thrilling experience! I also find it quite amazing and interesting how much 1000+ people do change the acoustics in the building, there is much more reverb in this recording done in the empty church the day before the concert then it was live with all the people in there. Thank you so much for making this great video and giving everybody a chance to experience this wonderful music on this amazing organ!
Good points. It’s also true that recording cannot capture the sonic pressure of the deep base notes such as that from the 10m long EEEE wide ‘Beast of Kevelaer’ bombarde
Wonderful concert; particularly liked the Vivaldi; new to me. Amazing organ playing and fantastic video of an amazing basilica. Such beauty! Thank you both very much.❤❤
A spectacular instrument played in spectacular fashion by Jonathan with spectacular visuals by Tom. Absolutely amazing, you two are the best! 👏🎶🎵 I am so sorry that I missed you in Brüggen last October.
Dear Johnathan, dear Tom, thanks for being here in Germany. Thanks for the music and the video, because it was not possible for me, to come in this wonderful concert in Kevelaer. Have a wonderful time in our country! Kind regards for southern Germany, Stephan
Jonathan &,Tom. Aplausos y saludos. Les deseo lo mejor, brillantes artistas. Juve Flores.
Simply wonderful. And the two of you aren't bad either. I've been lucky enough to have visited Germany, as well as Austria several times, and some of the high spots have been those fantastic churches, (we always leave a donation_) I'm in awe of the fact that they even exist, never mind that the skill demonstrated for such an early time is beyond measure. Thank you both for another marvelous production. P.S. Leave it to an artist to notice the carving on the organ case. Well spotted Tom. To hear one of my very favorite pieces played by my favorite organist....Oh Joy. Beethoven must have been in a very happy place when he composed such a piece. XX
It's been two weeks now since we ran into your rehearsal in Billerbeck, but my two year old still demands that we go into every church on the way, to check for the man and his music 😂 Was a pleasure to hear you play and i can't wait to hear your Dvořák arrangement again in full length!
Your story about how your two year old repeatedly demands to go into the church in Billerbeck after hearing Jonathan play at the practice rehearsal is heartwarming. It reminds me of how the late (died 2017) great French organist Michel Chapuis was taken as a young boy (6 yrs) to a recital on the Great Reipp Organ (1764) of Dole Cathedral in the Jura. An organ which is still intact today and one of the great treasures of the organ world. It was the first time Michel Chapuis had heard a great organ played well and he decided right then at the concert to learn to play and in fact became the titular organist at Dole for many years as well as a number of other famous churches in Paris and Professor of Organ at the Conservatoire. So encourage your two year old!
Wow! I had to miss the premier so watching after the fact and I'm not even done yet, but I just have to say that the La Folia is amazingly done! I love it! I'm not knowledgeable about music, but La Folia is one I've been obsessed with since middle school so know quite well. Vivaldi's, especially, is one that I've listened to lots. So, I was surprised and pleased (if I may be so haughty) by the color and fun of this transcription. I loved the bells and whistles (literally) of this version. Great job! Update: Obviously, the rest of the concert was stupendous! Thank you, Jonathan and Tom!
❤ ! ... For what do you need that? You prepare your setter and then you need only up and down. In times of nearly unlimited memory positions not more is needed.
@@juergen07091973 It sounds like you never had to play a church service on short notice, or just didn't have time to set every one of your registrations beforehand. Organists in the U.S. are used to having lots of buttons, and the system worked well for a long time, before a sequencer was even possible.
Absolut fantastisch! Absolut professionell. Da kann man nit meckern.
OMG that Vivaldi, I wish it had never ended. Sublime.
Having listened to this concert multiple times and comparing it with the many many other concerts & single pieces Jonathan & Tom have uploaded I have come to the conclusion that in my own opinion the Great Siefert Organ in Kevelaer is the best Jonathan has played.
The Scott Brothers are a unique in their "duo" music/photography .. absolute skill delivering the finest!
The arrangements composed by Jonathan are perfect to magnify the symphonic features of that mighty romantic organ. I can image the emotion to play this wonderful programme. Thanks to Jonathan and Tom for this new concert.

Congratulations from Rome. The magnificent presence of the Organ is not only musical pleasure, it is also a strong universal cultural contribution !

Its a great restoration job on the organ . It sounds amazing . And you played it well Johnathan and Tom . Totally epic church too.

Musical. Virtuosic. Thoroughly enjoyable. Bravo!👏👏👍👍

How can someone play so many notes at once! Many thanks, Johnathan and Tom!
Your a fantastic organist by any standard Jonathan.
A superb concert! Thank you Jonathan and Tom from Varese, Italy. Cannot wait to attend a live concert. 👍🏼👍🏼
Oh GREAT SOUND !!!!
It's impossible to watch the end of that without belting out "Götterfunken! GÖTTERFUNKEN!!!"
Die Renovierung hat sich gelohnt....die Orgel war und ist die tollste!
Eine hervorragende Orgel
Und ein hervorragendes Orgelkonzert
Vielen Dank dafür 👍👍👍

The blower for this organ must be huge! Wonderful recital but I would have loved to hear something by Max Reger.
Jonathan is doing a concert on the Great Jann Organ in Munich Cathedral soon and Munich was for years the home of Reger. We can live in hope!
Cranking up the sound system in the house and yard.

Give the man a gold star

does it have another console upstairs?
Fantastic sound
Yes it has an upstairs console - the Bros show it in the vlog they uploaded

Loud.. yup.. why do you need over 100 stops when you can't hear them? If you get what I mean!
Looks like somebody really hates toe pistons! Many small 2-manual organs have more foot controls than that. Interesting organ, though.
For what do you need that? You prepare your setter and then you need only up and down. In times of nearly unlimited memory positions not more is needed.
