/* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show I'm your host Paul and lock up your nieces this time...is it? Cos House Of The Dragon Episode 4 is now out and it has a lot to unpack from it. The episode starts off pretty slow with us following Daemon as he does the X Rated version of a whole new world from Aladdin. Rhaenyra ends up getting Aladdin too and throughout this video we're gonna be going over the big plot developments, ties to the books and also everything you need to know about the show.
Give a big Hand To The King by smashing that thumbs up button and also make sure you subscribe as we go through the series week by week. With that out the way, huge thank you for clicking this, now let's get into House Of The Dragon Episode 4.
Ok so towards the end of the latest entry we get a very important moment that sets up a lot of things for the future.
So though I normally do these breakdowns in chronological order I actually wanted to talk about the major development that comes with the Valeryian Dagger first.
We join Rhaenyra and her father after the latter incests she didn't sleep with Daemon. In episode one he of course told her about the dream that had been passed from King to King that prophecised the rise of the white walkers. It also stated that a Targaryen had to remain on the throne and here we get more of the details on the dream and the importance of the blade. Now we already know from the main series that this is used to kill The Night King and I can imagine that the series will end with a major focus on it tying into Game Of Thrones.
In front of the Old Valeryia city Viscerys brings up it's previous owners including Aenyrs and Aegon the Conqueror. Aegon was the first targaryen king and he ended up leaving Old Valeryia, conquering six of the seven kingdoms in his lifetime.
Viscerys son is of course named after him and the title sequence itself starts with an image of Old Valeryia which then fills with blood leaving just his crown behind.
Later on Daemon brings the character up and how he had a second wife in an attempt to justify why it's ok for him to marry Rhaenyra.
Now as for the blade we hear how Aegon had the pyromancers inscribe it. We've met Pyromancers in the Game Of Thrones series before namely the character Hallyne who created the wildfire that was used in the battle of blackwater.
The incription discusses The Prince Who Was Promised and how his song will be the one of Ice And Fire. - Развлечения
Let us know your thoughts on the episode
Is this intended to be a soap opera set in Westeros?
Different feel than the previous episodes. Daytime soap operas comes to mind. Didn’t like this episode. Creepy vibe.
it was excellent. every episode gets better. super hyped for the next!
I keep hearing this video saying, oh they change this and that, they're not sticking to the books, ... the book is literally recollections of different people that opposed each other's recollections, that's why the show runners said the books are the recollections/ rumors about what happened, the series will be how IT REALLY HAPPENED. The video is misleading the viewers by saying one recollections vs the series' choice of actual event. That's why they took the mushroom character out, there's no point on seeing the rumor point of view when they are actually telling what really happened.
Young Griff/Aegon is the Prince that was promised not Jon strong
One thing I realized that was a nice nudge was “viserys hand is killing him”
He’s lost 2 fingers and now it’s spreading.
- his own “HAND” is infecting and spreading against him.
I love that imagery but thats not how infection works, had the two fingers still be infected it would continuue to travel upwards through the arm and so on further degraded the flesh. I belive their theory that the sword cuts are infecting him are most accurate bc we can see slashes and sores.
@@OceansTreasure lol, I know I just thought it was a nice nod, I’m not sure if the book’s specifically stated he cut his fingers and that’s where it started or the writers just did that, as foreshadowing, idk. Just a thought.
Ngl Hightower hasn’t really done anything that bad. He did a little scheming with his daughter but hasn’t really done anything else but give good advice and tell him the truth
@@TrueGamer22887 not bad but viserys just realized that he did send his daughter to “comfort” him, manipulating him to choosing her as his wife to push his family to the throne.
@@nadiabarahona4879 yea for sure schemed but it seemed like the only other choice was the sea snakes kid and the king didn’t want to do that anyway, and he seems to actually like her
The statement about Rhaenyra at 7:47 is so wrong as she never thinks "it must be nice living in a castle and squeezing out heirs". She wants literary the opposite and she states it multiple times during this episode only. She's traumatized because her mother died during childbirth so she sees giving birth as something horrible she never wants to do. The conversation between Alicent and Rhaenyra isn't about how they wished they're in each other shoes, it is about how unfair it is to be a woman and how little choices they have. They try to provide comfort for each other as they both realize they're seen only as a breeding stock for men of power.
THIS! How tf did he get that one so wrong? It's literally Rhaenyra's main character trait at this point.
Glad I'm not the only one who caught that
I thought she says it in a sarcastic way. That’s how I took it. Not that she wants to change places with Alicent.
So what does she want? What is the opposite of that? Does she pick up a sword and train to be a swordsman like Arya? Does she learn the politics and take care of the common folks like Margaery? She may say one thing, but what she does so far is just doing what she likes.
Just saw the scene again, the mood and the way Rhaenyra says it, its like she is spitting out poison "made to squeeze out heirs". After her mothers passing she wants no such thing as marriage, she just wants to be herself and someday rule the kingdom, but by the ways things are going i'm doubting she even wants that now.
Sorry dude, you’re super mistaken. Rhaenyra, was being sarcastic, she was implying that she would HATE to be held prisoner in a castle and forced to pop out babies. This made Alicent kinda sad, because that’s her life, so Rhaenyra then said “sorry.”
Rhaenyra was NOT wishing she was in Alicent's shoes. She was saying, as she has the whole time, that she would pretty much rather die than be stuck in a castle squeezing out heirs. Its a cornerstone of her character that what she actually wishes for is to have real choice and agency in her entire life not just choice in who to marry. From the beginning of the show and that talk with her mother, she has said she'd rather be a knight fighting wars than kept essentially barefoot and pregnant in a castle.
yeah, misunderstanding that would really soften the unintended insult she gave Alicent during that dialogue.. and lessen the juxtaposition of the trading back and forth scenes between them shortly after that talk.
I’ve noticed that he makes a lot of these kinds of mistakes when it comes to reading the way women are written. He jokes he’s a misogynist but it’s really coming across that way the more I watch his content.
You say that you didn't find the street stuff exciting...I noticed something that was interesting. That old woman asked Rhaenyra if she wanted to know how she died and seconds later the metal dragon blew out fire right at Rhaenyra. That was a huge easter egg/foretelling
Yes, I caught that too! Great foreshadowing.
Also the boy spy is working for Dameons girlfriend. Re watch the scene with her n Dameon 😉
Oh wow so books version true she gets eaten baby her half brothers future dragon well ain’t that depressing news 😞 I like her a lot but assumed she would die kinda young but hoped not how she does in book it’s brutal asf 😞
@@happytrailsgaming I saw that too! First I thought it was a different boy.
i noticed that too. theres a scene on GoT where Joffrey is showing Margaery around and he mentions how Rhaenrya dies....and it's a ......
I personally thought Rhaenyra was being sarcastic when saying the "squeezing out babies" remark. she also pretty much says she doesn't want to do that later when talking to Daemon
I thought she was being realistic
@@joseph5489
She was being realistic, given what happened to her mother. However the line "squeezing out babies" was a bit sarcastic and derisive, which is why Alicent was offended.
You are correct. She was definitely being sarcastic there and then she literally says she'd rather be alone. The reviewer got that part wrong. I think Alicent was indicating she was jealous of rhaeneryas ability to choose her husband but rhae is not jealous of alicents position. They were both just trying to relate and help each other as they were old friends
She was being sarcastic. She hates that
Thank you. I was so confused when the reviewer said that as if rhynaerya was being serious
I think Damon took her their on purpose ro get the rumors going. He took off her hat so her hair would be seen and that's why he didn't sleep with her. He just wanted people to think so so the King would Marry Ray to him.
I agree…
The 'Inside the Episode' clip it was explained by the director. Daemon's plan was to sleep with her but ended up that he physically could not, bc deep down knew he knew it was wrong. But I agree, it was obvious he wanted people to see them together.....in order for it to be reported to the King as a sort of revenge. and maybe force his brother to marry him to Rhaenyra.
I'm with you on this.....Damon still is trying to do the right thing for the family in his own way
I thought so too
i dont think he genuinely wants to marry her. obviously putting forth a want to marry her at that point would not have worked out. i think he is trying to cause havoc & house valeryon is teamed up with damon as well. dont forget
12:56 Harwin Breakbones Strong not only been mentioned but he appears last episode holding the stag for the king and giving a flirty look to the princess when she came back bloody and this episode he was the one man who recognized her in the ally.
Thanks for the correction
@@heavyspoilers how you get all these episodes early and STILL mess this stuff up?
Actually he was shown even more. He was the knight who ran into Rhaenyra when she was running thru the festival and says "And who might you be running from now?" and then he realizes it's the princess, but he lets her go.
@@baileychmiola6341 The original comment says that already lol
I love the fact that rhaynera pointed out that fact about Otto the king needed to here it from someone he truly trust his blood to open his eyes. Daemon tried but went about it the wrong way. Rhaynera offered him a deal she will due her duty without complaining when he does his about Otto.
Its still weird the King actually did it. I mean Otto's information was right at this point, which even the King realized deep down and yet he listened to Rhaenyra. It was a bad idea imo, as it gives off the impression that he punished Otto for telling him the truth and being the bearer of the bad news
@@justhair17 it wasn’t the whole truth though, we didn’t see Ray and Damon have sex, but it was implied by Otto that they did
@@FizzahEditz based on what was available to Otto, that was a very reasonable conclusion. They were making out and about to fuck, which is probably what the spy saw
The best I’ve seen of her yet. She has her father wrapped around her finger.

That's what she said
For me, this was the first through and through classic GoT style episode: People having interesting conversations, and I was glued to the screen for all of it.
Best one yet.
7:47 Rhaenyra says literally the opposite of what you said. She says, "imprisoned in a castle, and meant to squeeze out heirs."
There is even a theory that the maesters are purposely not treating Viserey’s wounds to force him to name an heir quicker.
👍👍
i figured it was Otto's working with the Maester
There’s a theory in the books that the maesters have been working against the targaryans and the dragons since they came to Westeros because they deeply hate magic as men of what we now call “science”. They also don’t believe in the white walkers in GOT. Also, Otto is from Old Town, where the maesters study.
At first I thought Rhaenyra had the maester make up the Plan B tea, which would have been admitting she had sex with someone and since there is no doctor-patient confidentiality in Westeros, it would get back to the king. But the king had the tea made, which means that he still believes she had sex with Daemon.
Moon Tea
Or it was a test, if she drinks, she had sex.
Daemon definitely wanted it to get back to the king that they were in the brothel, he even took her hat off so people would see her white hair.
I haven't read the books and don't really want spoilers but I'm just so curious. What did Daemon hope to achieve here? To force Viserys hand into letting Rhaenyra marry him after bending the knee just before that? Why mislead his brother and tell him a half truth here?
@@Nice-sz4ee I'm not 100% on his motivations in the book. But I think it does have something to do with him wanting to marry Rhaenyra and if she isn't a maiden then no other lord would want her....so that's why he lies to Viserys.
@@gmcmurr15 Thanks that makes sense! I just couldn't get why he think it would work considering Viserys would rather bury that then ever let her wed Daemon. So I thought eh maybe it was just a scheme to get Otto off power.
I could see that. Daemon probably knows Otto has spies and that if anyone did say something to the King it would be him, and so Otto is getting replaced as hand for telling the king that news....it was either sheer dumb luck by Daemon or it was a genius plan that did exactly what he wanted.
OOOOOOOOO I knew he wanted to get back at the king with Rhaenyra but the taking off of her hat you just mentioned has me SOLD
This show just keeps getting better and better. Yet another incredible episode. I feel so bad for the King, Rhaenyra and Daemon are really putting him through hell and he’s dying slowly.
Dude the Hightower’s and maesters are literally killing the king. Not daemon
It's not easy being King
rhaenyra was set up though???? 😭 all she did was go to a brothel with her uncle who set the whole thing up. i guess viserys putting all this effort into letting her pick a husband and her still not budging is kind of stressful as the king, but she’s not backstabbing or hurting anyone lmfao.
@@cezzeboi2841 Maybe.... maybe. Couple glances between characters isn't enough to prove that or support it. But..... maybe. I think it's something we may see later on, I'm not so sure they're killing the king. Not sure they have to.
arya wasnt shunned. she left on her own accord. then she left the second place. the end of the series she once again makes the decision to leave.
Daemon left the bag with the map and the clothes for her.
Noooooooooo really????? You don't say sherlock
One correction, she does run into Harwin Strong in the alley when shes running ahead of Damion. He sees it's her and covers for her after he spots Damion further down the alley... though of course, he doesn't have sex with her at this point
One correction. It's Daemon.
@@blingdream8637 🤡
And they don't have sex I think there's just some heavy petting
@@joeydabbs1466 it's the same as before. Daemon has problems with committing, in any form ;)
@@blingdream8637 correct! Thank you lol
BRUH I DIED WHEN HE SAID “daemon doing the x-rated version of a whole new world” 😂😂😂
YOOOOO!!!
I couldn't stop laughing! It was so spot on! 🤣🤣🤣
Harwyn strong was in the show, he was the guy who was looking at rhaenyra when she came back with the boar, and he was In this episode as the goldgloak who caught her with daemon
Ah nice catch
Shout me out when you correct yourself lol only kidding get some sleep man
Are house strong good guys? I haven’t really noticed them that much
Some corrections: (yes I realize some of these 'errors' were made in jest)
Hostories & Lore:
-Aegon I did not leave old Vaylria, in fact Aegon was born on Dragonstone nigh a century after the doom. It was Aenar Targaryen who fled with his house after his daughter Daenys (also known as Daenys the Dreamer) foresaw the doom in a prophetic dream.
-The Prince that was Promised had never been referred to as 'The Lord of Light' which is a title used to refer specifically to R'hllor the Red God. To the followers of this sect, the prince that was promised is referred to as Azor Ahai. Furthermore, Lightbringer refers to the mythical welded weapon of Azor Ahai and not to the individual.
-The location of suitor presentations was Storm's End (Ancestral seat of House Baratheon & House Durrandon before that whom were known as the Storm Kings.) and the lord seated beside Rhaenyra is in fact Lord Borros Baratheon.
-His name is in fact Berric Dondarrion and is the namesake of the character from the main book & series.
-Rhaenyra does not covet a role reversal in lifestyle and obligation with Alicent. In fact Alicents shoes would likely be unbearable for her. The best analog I can offer for those curious would be Arya. Rhaenyra has a great deal in common with Arya. Living in a castle squeezing out heirs is absolutely the opposite of her desires and motivations.
-When being officially recognized as the royal heir, you are also a member of the small council by default.
-Referring to Balerion as Viserys I's dragon while not being technically incorrect, it can be misleading. Viserys mounted Balerion only a single time immediately prior to Balerion's demise due natural causes.
-The hair color associated with Old Vaylria is not platinum blonde as there is absolutely no favored color pigmentation. Thus to describe the hair color of Targaryens as anything other than silver or pure white would be inaccurate.
-Otto Hightower has served two kings: Jaehaeyrs I & Viserys I.
Pronunciations:
It is Aenys not Anus (phonetics: ayne-knees)
It is Maegor not Margo (phonetics: may-gor)
I think this is the strongest entry for the season - it finally seemed like the show remembered it was part of the GoT universe. Reminded me of the OG series’ strongest early seasons. I wasn’t sold on last week’s episode, because the battle sequences and CGI weren’t that strong, imo. This ep gave us plot and character developments they’ve been sowing the seeds for; more political machinations; confrontations and conspiracies; sex and a dragon. For me it was more compelling and exciting than any of the episodes so far.
Yeah. Paul is trying to ruin it. Disgrace
How come they don't got black mermaids in GoT?
I disagree it was trash CACA
@@cheaserceaser why you care ?
@@Diabeticninja90 For diversity and inclusion like in Disney new movie Little Mermaid Ariel is African.
Just finished the episode and your review is already up! Another great episode! We had three episodes moving very fast so I didn't mind an episode with more dialogue and character development.
If anyone is poisoning Viserys, I think it's Otto in a conspiracy with the Grand Maester. Also, based on nothing but my headcanon, I think it was really Otto, not the King, who had the Grand Maester bring Rhaenyra the moon tea. If she drinks it, it would be a sort of confession and if she doesn't, she risks being pregnant.
This show delivers solid episodes even without action scenes. The street scene had a few easter eggs and was definitely the crux of the episode.
Yea. When that lady with no eyes says “hey young girl, want to see your fate?” Then a dragon blowing fire shows immediately after 👍🔥
What easter eggs
Exactly
Arya Doesn't make sense as the "Prince" (In high Valyrian) that was promised, the prophecy says "From my Blood will come the Princes that was promised" She is not a Targaryen, The real prince of the princess should have been Jon or Daenerys but the Producer of GOT decided to ruin the show.
This show just keeps getting better and better!
Till u remember about season 8 GOT
I think this show’s shaping up to be my new favorite show on TV right now. There’s so much potential in this show. As long as the execution continues to be good, sky is the limit.
I definitely think the prince that was promised was definitely Jon. Of course I think it’s bullshit that he didn’t get to kill her or complete the azor ahai prophecy, but he was the reason why anyone even took the night king serious, and he got the whole army on board 🙌🏻
This episode is going to be really divisive to fans:
Was Daemon doing a kindness to Rhaenyra by showing her sex can be exciting, or was he manipulating and using her in a predatory way for his own gain?
Was Rhaenyra and Ser Criston playful and mutually decided on or did Rhaenrya abuse her power as heir/princess and take advantage of Criston?
Is Otto truley telling Viserys the info because he wants him to know of her transgressions or is it purely for his own gain?
none of these questions get answered in the show but based on who you are siding with in the show you have your own answers and conclusions to what is happening
Finally Otto raggedy ass got served(even tho he will be back) it was just satisfying to see the king lay his ass out like, u not low, I see u 👀
Ngl I don’t see anything Otto has done that is that wrong. He set up his daughter to get married but other than that he’s kind of just given good advice and told the king truthful info
Even though the actor is older than his character in the show as with many other actors/actress such as Rahnerya's actress being much older than her in the show you do realize in the show Otto isnt that old hes only one year older than the king so that puts him at 35 when the show starts but then again the actor is just older than the character
Congratulations on the 1m subscribers!!!
Promo for next week looks Amazing!! Love this show been so long since I got excited to watch something every week!
I really liked your review, but I disagree that this was the weakest episode. I was enthralled by this episode and wasn't bored at all by the trist into the underbelly of kings landing. That was such a crazy experience for a young sheltered princess and it was with her uncle and then he left her high and dry! Thank God she made it back to the castle safely, although I really don't understand why she didn't re enter through thar secret passage she took. Great acting too!
It was a lot to take in; we can’t forget that she’s still a young lady; and she was drunk and excited from all of those experiences all at once.
"High and dry" eh. Was that intentional phrasing?

I love the slow burn episodes. Episode 2 and 4 is my favorites so far.
I don't totally agree that Rhaenyra & Criston getting together is an invention just put in for the show. It makes sense that each of them would have a vested interest in lying about having been togther-her bc it would be a form of treason, or at the very least could get her disinherited to swipe the Vcard with a man she isn't married to. Him bc it's a violation of his Kingsguard vows-he could be executed/gelded/banished or some combination.
And...
Potential Spoiler!
As the story develops, Criston being the father of Rhaenyras first son makes a LOT of sense. Not being able to be with someone he loves, be a father to his child, and see her wed to another man could *definitely* make him embittered toward her. I'm wondering if that is the reason he went over to the Greens, becoming her most bitter enemy. Having love be rejected makes a lot more sense for that level of personal vendetta than "she failed to seduce him".
To me anyway, we'll see if there's any semblance of correctness in that notion.
That scene was 100% fine. We could also see how nervous he was..looking around and triple checking before doing it. He would have his head instantly on a spike if caught lol
DUde, its for the show. Don't think too hard. Sex sells.
I came up with a similar theory, though my theory is that Criston is the true father of all three of Rhaenyra's children with Laenor in the show.

Yup! And so much better than all the other big shows coming out right now. Really enjoying this show so far. Im not going to compare it to GOT, but I do like the 1st 4 episodes better than GOT. Imho, of course.
Fantastic episode of a phenomenal show. Breakdown is brilliant, always 👍🏼
King Viserys was the MVP this episode and though alot of people thought him unwise and foolish earlier i always knew he was wise. Just conflicted with a lot concerning his succession. Also Alicent continues to grow on me, they say in the books she’s cruel and selfish like Cercei but I like the HOTD take on her. She’s kind, thoughtful and a great friend. Can’t wait for your Episode 5 preview breakdown video!!
Loved this episode, but Viserys is not being wise at all. He only takes bold action when he is forced to, or prompted by someone else. Every power move he has made was prompted by Alicent, Otto, or Rhaenerya. He is still a little bitch if you ask me lol.
Also, although in the Books, we see history unfold through the writings of a Maeister (cant remember his name) and Mushroom ( a court ‘s fool), both of them not contemporary to the events, the show starts with the voice of adult Rhaeynyra telling about the 101 AC counsil. The first voice we hear is hers! So I think that what we will see play out through the show is her perspective, always.
Having that in mind, regarding this escapade episode between her and Daemon, in the books the two versions given are opposite to one another a bit on purpose, so the readers can keep in mind that they are reading a kind of history book where we cannot know for sure what went down, because neither us or the writers were there. But here, with the show, I feel we now know what REALLY happened that night with Rhaenyra. Mushroom was right regarding the escapades to the Silk Street but was wrong about the consumation of the sex.
A bit of a nod from the producers to show that what we are taught is never the absolute truth. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.
I read the book my friends and let me tell you that any compassion placed on Rhaenyra is misplaced
The character in the tv show is already annoying me. The rebel teen thing is getting stale. Like is this CW??

Loved this episode. The politics in this one were great, and it really set things up for the conflict to come. Loved that we actually got to see Rhae and Daemon go through the secret passages and to the underbelly of the city. I think it's funny how anytime an episode does not have action or fighting in it, people immediately say it is not as good as the others. There was a ton of story building in this one, which is absolutely necessary for a good show. Just my opinion
Dude! Do you get the episode in advance? Your reaction time is amazing
Yes. HBO sends him and most prominent critics most of the episodes in advance.
to be fair, the book isn’t an official account of the events as it is based on several accounts from the time period of the dance with the dragons written decades later by a maester in the citadel. GRRM has said that it’s a biased account and not a true retelling of history, whereas he’s stated the show is what truly happened in history.
What book is that?
Great show, each episode is fantastic!
Great rundown. I always love it when I've already Liked the video before you give your hint 👍
Mysiaria was the one that told Rhaenerya about Daemon and Nettles so maybe she was against him the entire time. I got the feeling that Mellos didnt bring the tea from Viserys.
I liked all the drama and intrigue in the episode. I can feel sympathy for just about everyone. Alicent especially. But then again, having a prince instead of a king is still a good prospect
Great breakdown! Love this series so far!

Yes, before the brothel. Could have been awhile beforehand as well. She says they go to taverns.
Harwin Strong was in episode 3 smiling when she comes back covered in blood with the boar. Also I believe Jason Lannister is master of ships atm since Corlys is pissed.
My dude!!! 1 million subs bro!! Congratulations
1 million subs baby!!
My understanding of Aegon's prophesy is that the Targaryen "Prince Who Was Promised" needs to unite the realm against the threat. Jon Snow does that.
Can't blame Rhaenyra ,when Daemon came back with that hairstyle.
CONGRATS ON 1M!!!
Thank you
LOL @ "Rhaenyra ends up getting Aladdin too." (a lad in, too) and then cutting to her and Ser Criston. well played, sir.
This show keeps getting better. Loving it. Next week looks to be really good.
Love where the story is heading.
@@linedpaper5374 False, you are welcome to do us all a favor and stop watching the show.
@@linedpaper5374 good troll
@@linedpaper5374 Why are you watching it then?
Damn I think this is one of the stronger episodes so far. Loved seeing the constant parallels between Rhaenrya and Alicent with the street scenes & Daemon being conniving Daemon
Thank you !!
HAPPY 1M !!!!!!!!!!!!
Big fan of the dragon fire when the fortune teller is mentioning how Ray dies
Paul you’re on fire with the jokes in this video. 😁 I believe Daemon would have went all the way with Rhaenyra if she was more shocked and he could be in control. He might not have expected her to actually be into it and couldn’t get himself excited enough to do it. I like how Viserys is practical enough to quietly send the moon tea at the end.
UGH! I’m a mess! I want to know which way she goes with it! It’s gotta be nerve wracking to not know if she’s going to be pregnant with Criston’s child! But to drink it would show the King she does have something to worry about! I can’t wait till next week!
the aftershow basically stated he once again lost his erection which is why he left in a huff
Ew
So you believe Daemon could only get aroused, if he was essentially forcing or coercing Rhaenyra? She got into it, then he was like, nope I'm out? Thats messed up af lmao. I think it was more the result of guilt, I don't care what the director says. Bc what that implies pretty much makes Daemon irredeemable as a character.
DID the king send the tea though? I smell the Maesters and Hightowers working together to break apart the members of House Targaryen. Sending the tea tells Rhaenyra that her father doesn't believe her when she says she's still a maiden. I don't think she'd look so unhappy if it was just about getting rid of an unwanted pregnancy.
I like you guys....really tried watching other explanations and they were just wack.....i like how u reference the books... and just makes everything easy for me......i watch you guys everytime I've finished an episode and just makes me want even more.....like an adrenaline rush jah....thank you
A lot happened in this episode, thanks for the breakdown.
The Blackwood-Bracken feud is instrumental in the later Blackfyre Rebellions where Aegon IV had bastards with the two families. Brynden Rivers of the Blackwoods became Bloodraven, and Aegor "Bittersteel" Rivers of the Brackens founded the Golden Company. They were the main agitators for a couple of the Blackfyre Rebellions.
Two members of different noble houses killing each other in a party is probably a serious affair, but for the Brackens and Blackwoods, it was Tuesday.
That Blackwood kid certainly don't take kindly being talked down like that. Kids are feisty in there.
Daemon has shown to have erectile dysfunction as seen from Ep 1 with Mysaria. I did not expect it to be Criston to pop Rhaenyra's cherry 🍒. Wow!! 🤯
Crazy how quick you get this up. But this is an episode that is needed.
It is ironic though how Viserys is doing what he thinks we protect and unify the realm, but the only thing that woulda prevented the Dance of Dragons woulda been naming Aegon his heir. And he was given the best reason ever to do it tonight.
But for some reason he thinks keeping his daughter is the best idea. Though, tbh, marrying her to Corlys shoulda have prevented any issues, had he NOT removed Otto as hand.
This just almost guaranteed there would be a split. He was his father’s hand and now he will spread the news she slept w Daemon etc.
Rhaynera “getting a lad in too” was a fantastic line bruv!
😂😂😂
"X-rated version of a whole new world" I died lmfao😂😂😂😂😂
Man that Rhaenyra and Daemon scene was very uncomfortable. The acting in this show has been so good, everything I've wanted so far
Umcomfortable how its a dam movie… pop that little bubble you live in realize that type of activity in fact did happen more often then you want to think. Common practice in order to keep true blood lines.
Stop being a karen
I assure you. After time skip you would get uncomfortable scenes every episode.
Quick as hell mate! 😂
The “plan B to plan tea” was golden. Take my sub!! Take it all!
I absolutely love this show, favorite episode
I’m in shock like sweating from this episode
The episode hadn't even finished airing when you uploaded this
“Rhaenyra ends up getting *a lad in* too” 😂🤣🤣🤣 Well Played!
7:47 She actually doesn't. It's the exact opposite and she seems traumatized by her mother's death by child birth.
Love the nod to the Blackwood/Bracken beef
I think this was Viserys bad ass moment, everyone think they can fool him but he read through everyone's shit (Otto, Daemon, Rhaenyra) and made clear that he's not a terrific king just because he dont feel to
Damn your quick!!
12:20, Allicent Literally was like , " Just lay back and think of England". ..
As an American I'm not sure if that was just a stereotype we are taught that your woman had to endure , or if it was a true saying that Brits taught their girls during unwanted ( not in the mood) Coupling.
Unwanted doesn't just mean "not in the mood."
@@Leelz247 Calm down now. We don't need any drama about the difference between the two. Obviously They are not the same thing, And NOBODY EVER SAID THEY WERE THE DAMN SAME....
"Rhaenera ends up getting a lad in too" The laugh I just wheezed out🤣 !!!
I just finished watching this episode and as soon as I saw my phone this video popped up.
Yo 1miliion subs💯
I realized that these episodes showed that Rhaenyra doesn't have what it takes to rule, she is spoiled and doesn't want to have the obligations of a ruler. As Viserys said "Even I can't prevail over obligations and legacy", a King must know when to impose his power and when to submit, Rhaenyra wants to have the power, but without bearing the obligations, and that in a Medieval Era is terrible, even more so because it is the omen for a tyrant, a King who only does what he wants and uses his power to silence others.
I like the development of relationships and political intrigue more than battles. So for me this episode was more fun than episode three.
I think the plan B tea at the end demonstrates 2 things: 1) Viserys believes Daemon over his daughter and 2) he's going to protect Rhaenyra as the heir to the throne anyway. I also wonder why the expression "take her maidenhead / v-card" is used when the woman \ chooses the man and it's all mutually consensual. Or quasi-consensual like when there is a power dynamic with a queen and her knight. He's not taking anything. He's receiving. Take becomes give / gifted. There are words for that in Indigenous languages that have no equivalent in European ones, which portray woman as passive objects acted upon. Anyway, as usual, enjoyed the videos and the context they provide. Thanks for the fun.
Lame jokes getting better by the week, mate. Love it!
