Both the Spanish and the American creative team had worked together originaly but they broie off and did each their own thing. There are also clips of the Spanish show on the Net if anyone is interested I just wonder why SONY PICTURES did not tried to get the rights on the TIME TUNNEL remake from 2002, also on RUclips. that was clearly a promissing and very similar concept to TIMELESS at the end they could had done that with less trouble ( not counting in the many TIME TUNNEL fans of that Sixties show - the copies of the complete series are still selling well after all )

There was a BMW commercial from 1994 or 1995 that had original music that I tried forever to look for and gave up. Found it (at least the commercial) two years ago. There's always hope. I'd love to hear an instrumental version of this one. Hope some finds it.
Okay, but as an avid Science Fiction fan, I have to wonder why they were even able to 'go after' the people that stole the first time ship. The very instant they left to go change the past, the present should have been erased and replaced with the 'new' reality. If someone travels to the past to change history and nothing changes instantly, then they failed and there's no need to 'chase' and stop them. The only way you get a chance to stop someone like this is if your base facility is somehow 'outside' of time (like the Timeship in Star Trek Voyager).
It's a shame that they stole this from a Spanish tv show. I dont speak Spanish or live in Spain. So I've never heard of this. But it looks like it's going to be pretty epic

I mean that NBC decided not to buy the rights (they said at first they were interested and when they had the scripts, then they said they weren't), but copy a Spanish series called Ministry of Time. And Ministry of Time is on TVE.
"The Ministry of Time" (tv show created in Spain) but without the soul. Will give the first episode a chance but least you could do if you aren't willing to buy the rights is give credit where credit is due when you base your tv show on somebody else's one. Shame on you NBC.
This isn't based on the show you are thinking of. Not what so ever. But even if it were, this particular show is entirely about american historical events, not European history. And of all the episodes filmed so far not a single one bares even the slightest resemblance to the show you speak of.

It seems you are not familiar with "El Ministerio del Tiempo", they do not have a time machine on that show, however there many other similarities that warrant that "Timeless" mirrors the show from Spain. Some of the script is also copied. Some are saying it is not a big deal, but legally it is since you cannot rip off a show and not suffer the consequences. The show from Spain better executed on a production and creative level.

I hadn't realize the genre of time travel, or the act of going back in time do different eras and changing it was invented by "El ministerio de tiempo", I'm sorry but all of you guys have got to chill. It's not about time travelling or general ideas. It's about them sharing scripts with Sony, they didn't reach an agreement, and few time later NBC announced this. There are specific similarities in descriptions and the MdT creator is talking about specific dialogues.

Wow! Just watched the Hindenburg episode. Absolutely amazing, 3/4 of the show was bitching about black injustices. If this is all the series will offer, harping on social issues while making them worse, I won't watch it.

Of all that could have been blasted at in and around 1937, from Hitler's military buildup, his invasion of Poland two years later, women's issues, work safety and on and on, they picked blacks in the back of the bus, walking into a bar and yelling at a cop? I'm fairly certain these don't have consequences to the modern black. My problem is the show deliberately gave it an edge as though its still valid. From my viewpoint the friction today has a great deal to do with how black society is going about doing things. A case in point: a white guy is in a white neighborhood with a sign "Black Lives Matter", all the whites go by him, most offer 'all lives matter' in response to him and go about their way. Same guy goes to a black neighborhood with a sign "All Lives Matter" and all but gets the crap kicked out of him. Thats my point. Fuel is being added to a fire that has been going out.

Hi. I have seen almost all the chapters and it's not like El Ministerio del Tiempo. The main protagonists are introduced in the story too fast, and in a forced way. Two minutes later we have the first gunshot. Really?? Come on. I don't know what's this show about and you start shooting already. Really, we don't need guns to have a great story, people!! Don't fill the lack of a proper story and character introduction with gunshots!! The story jumps almost immediately to the personal lifes of the three main protagonists and drops the historical part of the show. So, no, it's not like El Ministerio del Tiempo. I miss in this show a proper and calm development of characters and a focus in the history. It's all about the personal lifes (soap opera again, no please). I thought that perhaps there is not so much history in USA to make a show about it, but... there is a lot of cultures and other countries around to do something really great set in the continent's history. I don't know... It disapointed me very much. I expected something more similar to El Ministerio del Tiempo with a focus in history and past cultures and a great plot. I had too much expectations, I asume.

This is a plagiarism of the spanish "El ministerio del tiempo"...it's a pity because I follow both series but the northamerican one has got few originality.
While this show sure looks like a shameless ripoff of El Minesterio de Tiempo, when dealing with time travel shows it's hard to determine who plagiarized who. Maybe the producers of the Spanish show travelled forward in time a couple of years and stole the idea from these guys. But even if they did they did a MUCH better job of it
whole show was dependent on killing that one dude. i think on EVERY show they had an opportunity to kill him but didn't. sometimes i wish he would have been killed during episode one so they could save us all the trouble...

Time travel is a universal topic that anyone can use in their tv show, getting a group of people and going back in time to change it is nothing special, I'm sure many of you have even thought up of stories when you were younger or maybe in high school when you learned of an important event, and if you decided to make a tv show or movie that you probably didn't even hear about or watch and didn't give them credit on a universa idea they did not create, your the bad guy....all of the ones who are saying this is a rip off are completely stupid, how many stories tv shows, movies have been created with this concept, (Back to the Future, Doctor Who, the Time travelling Trio, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court) all of these works are based in this very concept... I whole heartedly support NBC and hope them great fortune in this upcoming tv Show!

It's not about time travelling or general ideas. It's about them sharing scripts with Sony, they didn't reach an agreement, and few time later NBC announced this. There are specific similarities in descriptions and the MdT creator is talking about specific dialogues.

Wow! Just watched the Hindenburg episode. Absolutely amazing, 3/4 of the show was bitching about black injustices. If this is all the series will offer, harping on social issues while making them worse, I won't watch it.

You think I actually want it to continue? You missed my point ya maroon. Of all that could have been blasted at in and around 1937, from Hitler's military buildup, his invasion of Poland two years later, women's issues, work safety and on and on, they picked blacks in the back of the bus, walking into a bar and yelling at a cop? I'm fairly certain these don't have consequences to the modern black. My problem is the show deliberately gave it an edge as though its still valid. From my viewpoint the friction today has a great deal to do with how black society is going about doing things. A case in point: a white guy is in a white neighborhood with a sign "Black Lives Matter", all the whites go by him, most offer 'all lives matter' in response to him and go about their way. Same guy goes to a black neighborhood with a sign "All Lives Matter" and all but gets the crap kicked out of him. Thats my point. Fuel is being added to a fire that has been going out.
I haven't watched the show yet, but is Rufus' only purpose to display historical black injustice? I played the trailer and he often just seems to speak about being black. Just looking for a clarification real quick.

Looks like inspired by the spanish show "El Ministerio del Tiempo" but with all the extra special effects that any american show uses and less soul. Let see if they can make a good story... I doubt it.

Hi. I have seen almost all the chapters and it's not like El Ministerio del Tiempo. The main protagonists are introduced in the story too fast, and in a forced way.
Two minutes later we have the first gunshot. Really?? Come on. I don't know what's this show about and you start shooting already. Really, we don't need guns to have a great story, people!! Don't fill the lack of a proper story and character introduction with gunshots!!
The story jumps almost immediately to the personal lifes of the three main protagonists and drops the historical part of the show.
So, no, it's not like El Ministerio del Tiempo. I miss in this show a proper and calm development of characters and a focus in the history. It's all about the personal lifes (soap opera again, no please). I thought that perhaps there is not so much history in USA to make a show about it, but... there is a lot of cultures and other countries around to do something really great set in the continent's history. I don't know... It disapointed me very much. I expected something more similar to El Ministerio del Tiempo with a focus in history and past cultures and a great plot. I had too much expectations, I asume.

i can assure you this series isn't based on the spanish one. From everything i've seen and read, and of all the episodes filmed thus far here in Vancouver not a single episode to date bares even the slightest resemblance to the spanish series. While this show sure looks like a shameless ripoff of El Minesterio de Tiempo, when dealing with time travel shows it's hard to determine who plagiarized who. Maybe the producers of the Spanish show travelled forward in time a couple of years and stole the idea from these guys. But even if they did they did a MUCH better job of it
