  • Todays Trainz Big Build episode is the final build video for the branch line. Today we finish off the fishing village and add details between it and the village we completed two episodes ago. We also create a line extension to the harbour as I like the view of the village from there and it would be a shame for no one to ever see it ;-)
There won't be a Big Build episode next week as I need to do some finishing up work on the Branch line before it gets unveiled with the show and tell episode. Just like last time the show and tell will see us ride on the nose of the train in one direction down the line and using the yet unplaced side cameras on the way back. After thats done the first beta of the route and session will be released on the Download station. More about that in due course.
Don't forget to like & subscribe if you enjoy :-)
And thank you in advance for watching :-)

I think an idea might be a turntable at one of the terminus stations. Or maybe just one of the more isolated stations as I've definitely seen that in my local area at a place called New Cumnock. (The turntables gone but a look at some old photos might help you)

I have been thinking of perhaps adding in an engine shed near to the end village. A small non functioning just for asthetics turntable could be added there also perhaps. I don't want to make it functional though as the main city stations turntable is already servicing three mainline trains and has already been a pain to get these to use it without getting stuck. Their all working right now but I'm betting if I was to add another line in to use it that would likely break it.

Hi there again. Thanks for the interest in the video. I see you did a lot of fields in this video; thats the one thing thats killing me on my route 😂. I Have another idea for the mainline bit: I know this is a steam era route, but have a search of Queensville Curve just south of Stafford, note the amount of banking it has, it is one of the few places virgin trains slow to around 80mph for on the way up to crewe. How about you incorporate an equivalent banked curve on the mainline, speed not dropping too much (thrill!), which would make for good screenshots of fast trains. This idea of banking the curve could also look cool when twisting over the flyover i think. Keep up the good work! 👍

I looked up the curve. Interesting that there is virtually no actual banking that I can see but as you say the track is twisted. Would have thought there would be more banking with the outer tracks allot higher up.
Never twisted the track before. I think the track does have this property in the advanced area. Certainly can try it to see what it looks like on a tight bend. Yeah... why not.
Keep trying with the fields. They make a country area look so must more authentic. I downloaded a load of field textures. Some look better than others. Well worth doing.

@@bluewizard At Queensville curve the fast lines are on the inside, which is why it looks not so banked on the closer ones usually to the camera. Fast lines are at 85mph EPS, so there is like maximum superelevation on those tracks (9.0 degrees I believe), however a lot of railway superelevation isn't too noticeable simply because its only a few degrees tilted. The slow lines are at 50mph I believe, so there is some, but maybe like 3-4 degrees not really noticeable. Hope this helps.

I have got an amazing idea, why not make a narrow gauge railway at the last station and they can supply the railway with ballast and slat and passengers of course

I like this idea but I'm gonna have to put some thought into it. I could replace the harbour line and extend that somehow. There would need to be a station where the standard and the narrow gauge meet. If I can't use it on this line we'll save the idea for the coastal route. There's gonna be plenty of villages along that line. And somewhere along that line will be the slate mine too that the narrow gauge engines could go too. Also going to have to see what actual narrow gauge engines and rolling stock the game actually has. I haven't really looked yet.

No... This is being created on Trainz 19 and is not yet available. A first beta of the route and session will be made available in around 2weeks on the download station. Please note... It's no where near finished
