I did FSC and I was trained from class 5 to reflect my own thoughts, use my own brain. Teachers played a big part, really got the best teachers who brought the best out of me.
I've studied high school in Italy and did Matric from Abbottabad Board Pakistan and the difference i see is, in board system there's too much 'ratalization' while O/A levels wale comprehension pe focus karte hai and then obviously there's the class difference mindset, but i think if A level system is executed properly it's better, coz it includes extra curricular activities as well, which are totally ignored by Board system schools.
Government state ka sab se taqawar department hai. Agar private institutions bachon ko groom kar saktay hai to lanat hai us government pe jo state head ho kay bhi curriculum porana le kar bethi hai. I agree with muneeb. Sara nisaab aik jesa karo. Phir awam bhi divide nai ho gi. Brilliant topic.

I have done intermediate but I don't find it hard to express my view in front of people and I dont feel that a guy from Cambridge system can argue his point better than I can. The reason i think is that I tried to self educate myself a little. So one solution can be that parents or students themselves should encourage them to learn and grow their mind by themselves regardless of the education system. Can be anything they hold interest in, students should practice learning by themselves. Internet can help too.

I agree with the difference of intellect and confidence among the Cambridge and the board students. A lot of this depends upon the personal growth of the individual as well. If a boy/girl reads a lot of books and observes a lot then regardless of the educational system they will be at the top of their confidence and intellect. I’ve done my O levels, followed by Inter. So I’ve experienced “the best” of both worlds. Doing inter AFTER O levels was not a smart decision at the time because perhae nai samajh ae. Lekin now that I think about it, both experiences have made me who I am now.
I am doing inter after O'level because of fees and I can't understand what is taught just because it's learning the word to word content and then writing it in the exam

Problem is not what the education system is, problem is how people approach the term education. In European countries education is taken as an individual's right and need. In our country it is perceived as a luxury and a status symbol. This is where the discrimination and inequality begins. European countries discourage private education so you find mostly public educational institutions. All public institutions have an income based tax contribution system, which mean regardless weather you're a farmer or an industrialist, your child will get equal education. If you have money you pay more tax if you don't, you don't pay at all, In fact the state give scholarships for living and eating, to make it even easier to take education. This encourages people to go to public sector. This induces an equality in the thought process. This implies respecting each other regardless who you are. "Aik he saff main kharay thay mehmood aur ayaz" is the approach they have. It also helps ministry of education to improve the standard. Moreover there are specific funds to promote the quality and reputation of public institutions. In our country people see who has money and start idealising those people. "Uskay tou saray bachay grammar school k parhay huey hain" is the point where we start suppressing our youth by crushing the ideas under the burden of not being good enough to compete with an olevel student. Companies also have the discrimination in hiring, which directly governs the opinion that if you don't have money you will be a clerk and if you do you will be hired as an MT. I think first we need to create a unified thought process and disown private education, and bring a system that has no label, one for all. Put effort into making it better. So that people worry more about "what they want to be" instead of "where they want to be". The rich people should pay more and poor people don't pay at all so that all the children study the same curriculum, together in the same classroom, have equal opportunity and use their talent to succeed, create, and build an even brighter future.

Irfan and Muneeb bhai mein tho yeh kahoon gaa k meray hisaab sey MUNs iss sarey confidence opinions or critical thinking k maslon ko bohat kamal tareekey sey solve kar sakhtey hein. As an O levels student I believe meray under yeh qualities meray school sey zyaada MUN sessions ney ki thi kyunke meray around koi peer pressure nahi thaa jiski waja sey mein rukoon, there was no one to label me to be a "cringey fool". And after expressing my views on world affairs infront of so many people meray confidence ka point of view asmaan sey bhi ooper tha. And as a bonus I got the recognition I wanted in school. So I strongly have faith in encouraging students from both O levels and Inter to take part in such events because besides the confidence boost it allows them to mix with each other at the ripe age of their teens and also talk at on an equal footing without any hesitation of class differences.
I completely agree with your point about improving the Pakistan Board curriculum. True, not everyone can afford opting for Cambridge, but it's everyone right to get the education in the best possible way which benefits them both in their career and personality grooming. I myself did Cambridge and I have also gone through board syllabus..I found a vast difference in both. Our curriculum should definitely improve for the sake of our future generations and therefore betterment of Pakistan.
Studied from federal board, yani metric aur inter hi kia hay. English ka likhna aur opinion ka likhna ata hay, lekin han O, A level kay bachon main extra curricular activities ki wajah se confidence bhi banta hay aur opinion defend karna ata hay. as a student from inter/matric system .. the big disadvantage i face in everyday life is lack of confidence in speaking English not in writing but speaking .. and that sucks really hard .. I know what to speak but haven't that much confidence to deliver well !

I studied back and forth in Pakistan and the US and i can assure you that Metric and Inter and O levels are all 100000X better than the High School system in the US. I Did Kg till 3rd grade in the US, 4th till 7th in metric board and then 8 to 10th in O levels, I gave my O levels exams (all of them) and then came back to the US where did 11th and 12th Grade. The toughest time I ever had (the most challenging) was during the time I was following Metric Board and I feel I grew the most during my O level period. So I guess its kind of a tie and its all debatable. If the Metric/Inter system just incorporates a little more of the O and A level style in sciences bohat behter scene ho jaye ga competition wise. All in all If you can afford O and A levels you shouldn't think you're better than others kiun kai aapka apna koi kamal nahie hai, you were given the Opportunity by God tou you should use this opportunity and help those who were not us lucky. Agar aap nai Metric aur Inter kar rakha hai tou app O and A levels waloon ko R desi style pronounce karna sikhado :p and the US education sucks till High Schol (Inter) tou app apnai bachon ko Inter karwao ya A levels karao unko US system mein daal kai mat doobana, uskai baad Uni mein its fine tou you can come here for Uni i guess. I agree with you that the thinking of the students is different.This is the reason we are not able to change the practical and apparent situations of this country. Jo banda Matric ke exams banata hai, he himself has studied with Matric system. So it is not how so possible to expect him giving a question of somewhere near CIE level. I am also doing O-Levels. And what we are taught is that what is the problem,how can we solve the problem but why can't we? Why is it so? How is it so? But why? But in matric system the questions are so simple that what was this? what this happened etc... Plus you need to do an episode over the growth of private school with all positive and negative aspects.

I have studied my whole life in Dubai and I just shifted to Pakistan last year. I wanted to do O levels and never really had an opinion for matric system. After a lot of thought I decided to do matric Just to give it a try and I absolutely love it! I always thought kay itnay lambay lambay answers hai aur sirf ratta hi marna hota hai but O levels is not less. Yes there is some "ratta" but I don't think its any different from O levels and the topics of most subjects are also similar.
But I do agree on matric people not having a point of view and opinion and are not confident enough in telling their own things. But being studied from Dubai Alhumdulliah that's not the case for me.

Ok my suggestion :- 1-Whether u have done A-level or inter and u r reading that comment then keep in mind that being an A-level student or inter student doesn't make u superior or inferior. (Village boy BA pass student was the the topper of CSS exam few year back) 2- Now for those who have to make choice yet that what to chose for them or for their children A-level or inter ? Please dont over burden urself with the feeses of schools. Chose wisely both have their own plus points.

As an O levels student I believe meray under yeh qualities meray school sey zyaada MUN sessions ney ki thi kyunke meray around koi peer pressure nahi thaa jiski waja sey mein rukoon, there was no one to label me to be a "cringey fool". And after expressing my views on world affairs infront of so many people meray confidence ka point of view asmaan sey bhi ooper tha. And as a bonus I got the recognition I wanted in school. So I strongly have faith in encouraging students from both O levels and Inter to take part in such events because besides the confidence boost it allows them to mix with each other at the ripe age of their teens and also talk at on an equal footing without any hesitation of class differences.
I completely agree with your point about improving the Pakistan Board curriculum. True, not everyone can afford opting for Cambridge, but it's everyone right to get the education in the best possible way which benefits them both in their career and personality grooming. I myself did Cambridge and I have also gone through board syllabus..I found a vast difference in both. Our curriculum should definitely improve for the sake of our future generations and therefore betterment of Pakistan.

Studied from federal board, yani metric aur inter hi kia hay. English ka likhna aur opinion ka likhna ata hay, lekin han O, A level kay bachon main extra curricular activities ki wajah se confidence bhi banta hay aur opinion defend karna ata hay. Extra curricular activities aur English per focus kar lain to metric system bhi sahi hojaye ga.

as a student from inter/matric system .. the big disadvantage i face in everyday life is lack of confidence in speaking English not in writing but speaking .. and that sucks really hard .. I know what to speak but haven't that much confidence to deliver well !

I have done O lvls and now I am in Inter. I feel that thinking of the students is limited here just because of how the syllabus never actually changes. Jo book mai likha hai wo likho gy tou marks mily gy. Apnay lafzon mai likha tou marks nhi milay gy. Chahye baat wohi hai bas book ki wording mai likhni hai. Aur yehi cheez bachon ko khud sochny se rokti hai aur bachy limit ho jaty hain

I studied back and forth in Pakistan and the US and i can assure you that Metric and Inter and O levels are all 100000X better than the High School system in the US. I Did Kg till 3rd grade in the US, 4th till 7th in metric board and then 8 to 10th in O levels, I gave my O levels exams (all of them) and then came back to the US where did 11th and 12th Grade. The toughest time I ever had (the most challenging) was during the time I was following Metric Board and I feel I grew the most during my O level period. So I guess its kind of a tie and its all debatable. If the Metric/Inter system just incorporates a little more of the O and A level style in sciences bohat behter scene ho jaye ga competition wise. All in all If you can afford O and A levels you shouldn't think you're better than others kiun kai aapka apna koi kamal nahie hai, you were given the Opportunity by God tou you should use this opportunity and help those who were not us lucky. Agar aap nai Metric aur Inter kar rakha hai tou app O and A levels waloon ko R desi style pronounce karna sikhado :p and the US education sucks till High Schol (Inter) tou app apnai bachon ko Inter karwao ya A levels karao unko US system mein daal kai mat doobana, uskai baad Uni mein its fine tou you can come here for Uni i guess. I agree with you that the thinking of the students is different.This is the reason we are not able to change the practical and apparent situations of this country. Jo banda Matric ke exams banata hai, he himself has studied with Matric system. So it is not how so possible to expect him giving a question of somewhere near CIE level. I am also doing O-Levels. And what we are taught is that what is the problem,how can we solve the problem but why can't we? Why is it so? How is it so? But why? But in matric system the questions are so simple that what was this? what this happened etc... Plus you need to do an episode over the growth of private school with all positive and negative aspects.

I have studied my whole life in Dubai and I just shifted to Pakistan last year. I wanted to do O levels and never really had an opinion for matric system. After a lot of thought I decided to do matric Just to give it a try and I absolutely love it! I always thought kay itnay lambay lambay answers hai aur sirf ratta hi marna hota hai but O levels is not less. Yes there is some "ratta" but I don't think its any different from O levels and the topics of most subjects are also similar.
But I do agree on matric people not having a point of view and opinion and are not confident enough in telling their own things. But being studied from Dubai Alhumdulliah that's not the case for me.
