Here is a video I took of Zoltan Kocsis performing Bartok's Piano Concerto N. 3. It is already a month he passed away. It still hurts. I found this old video in a box I had in my attic. I wish to honor his memory sharing it. It is my favorite interpretation of this Piano Concerto. For some reason, I prefer this also to his fantastic official studio recording. What a great memory! When I find the time to digitalize, other material I have will follow. I apologize for the quality. It is more than 24 years old and made with a non-professional camera, but I love it anyway. Probably I am the only one having the video of this specific performance.

Riveting, intense thrilling. I used to think the Fricsay/Geza Anda performance unbeatable, particularly in its tenderness in the 2nd mvt., but this just sweeps you away in a brutal yet romantic way and you feel the whole of the work. Wow, that lucky audience!

Which hall was this taken at? Is that Iván Fischer conducting which orchestra? (they usually played with Budapest Festival Orchestra, or is that a local one? ) Thank You!
