- The Animal Medical Center in NYC offers an underwater treadmill rehabilitation service for dogs and cats. Head of the program, Dr. Leilani Alvarez is one of the few specialists worldwide who's board certified in canine sports medicine and rehabilitation. The center also offers programs for senior dogs.

Omgg my dog has a psychical disability in his hind legs and this underwater treadmill thing literally saved his life now everytime he goes to the physiotherapy and does the treadmill thing or other stuff he gets better and better by bits and pieces he really improved

A good friend of mine actually does this as a job. She got introduced to it in the UK and when she realised that there wasn't really anything like it in the Netherlands, she started her own business. The first few years were tough, as with any business, but she is doing quite well now and has helped many dogs

My dog had to do this for several months after she had surgery for hip dysplasia. She didn't get peanut butter, but going there was like a treat because she loved her therapist! (She also got some small cookies and relaxing cold laser therapy.)
I wish my dag had been able to do underwater therapy too when he got old and especially because he was overweight with fluid build-up in his body which made his hips swell from Arthrtis and hip dysplasia. I hope they will continue to help many other dogs.

I have a friend who has her own hydrotherapy business in the Netherlands, and there are a few more in the Netherlands, Belgium and UK. Just look around for hydrotherapy. But just be aware that it is a medical profession so appropriate degrees are often needed.
