I decided to make this cover of the Drab Four's banger to honor my newfound baldness. No, this isn't a cry for help. Green lighting is mandatory for Type O covers. While this song isn't the most challenging, it sure is infectiously catchy and fun to play.

Love the tone you have, and the slight differences between the rhythm and lead parts... but that little fill at 0:52 and the little nuanced additions you have put in throughout....are what I really love. Solo Nailed also! You have, in my opinion, elevated one of my favourite songs of all time.

How did you manage to get such a similar sound?
I just used a few Neural DSP plugins, then tried to tweak them to sound as close as possible. I also double tracked every part except for the main solo and put different chorus/flange effects on either side.

@@iva_.n Its in B standard tuning, however I use a Digitech Drop Pedal so that I can change tunings easily for covers. This guitar is truly tuned to D standard

I also wonder what your setup is? Like pedals and what forth. I’ve seen so many different ways to play the song, but this tone is just about perfect
I film in my room because it looks cool, but I just plug my guitar into my interface and use Studio One.
This cover was the Neural DSP Fortin Nameless suite with a custom patch I dialed in by ear.
The secret is having two different choruses on each track. I double tracked everything except for the solo.
Then the melodic guitar hook was done using the Neural DSP Fortin Cali Suite dialed again by ear to be as close as possible to the record, one has side has chorus and the other a slow flanger.
I wish I still had the session/project file because I would have shared the files for my presets but Im pretty militant about storage space. Once its on RUclips, its usually gone.

Im using the digitech drop pedal. This guitar is in D standard with 11-49s on it.

I learned this by ear. Its tuned in B standard, and its played in what would be C# Minor in standard tuning. In this tuning, the song is in G# minor. Songsterr is a great resource

Had to google what that means: if you mean tuning, its in B standard. Though for this song you could play it in C# tuning as it never goes lower than that note. Type O always tuned in B standard
