The fellow who clearly not afraid to make an ass of himself is actor Dan Fogler who stars in the J.K. Rowling wizarding movie "Fantastic beasts and where to find them".
I can just hear the nostalgia factor already, for a song made in 2003. The fast guitar riffs, the synths/"magical" noise effects in the background throughout 1:33, and ofc Peter's voice. TON reminds me of those bowling alleys that play 90s-early 00s music videos on the big screen while everyone have fun. 😌💕
Type O is one of the best bands of all time!! Check out songs like IYDKMIGTHTKY, Too Late: Frozen, Green Man, just check out every song they have lol \m/
Type O Negative’s *I Don’t Wanna Be Me* is a dark, brutally honest anthem that’s as infectious as it is intense. From the moment the opening riff hits, you’re pulled into a whirlwind of raw emotion and gritty energy that only Type O Negative can deliver. Peter Steele’s iconic, deep vocals take center stage, combining bitterness with a hint of self-deprecation that makes this song both haunting and oddly relatable. His delivery perfectly captures the frustration of feeling trapped by one’s own identity and the yearning for escape, a theme that resonates with anyone who’s ever felt disconnected from themselves. The song’s structure is brilliant-it has that driving, upbeat tempo that gives it a pulse, while the lyrics cut to the bone with lines like, “I don’t wanna be me anymore.” The contrast between the catchy, almost pop-like melody and the dark, introspective lyrics is pure Type O Negative genius. It’s a track that can make you nod along one moment and reflect deeply the next, blending heavy riffs, Steele’s chilling baritone, and the band’s signature goth-rock aesthetic into something unforgettable. *I Don’t Wanna Be Me* is more than a song; it’s a statement of disillusionment wrapped in dark humor and gothic flair. It stands out as one of Type O Negative’s most powerful pieces, showing their ability to blend heaviness with depth and introspection with a bit of wit. It’s an anthem for the lost and the weary, a cathartic release for anyone who’s ever wanted to leave themselves behind, and a quintessential example of why Type O Negative remains such an influential force in music.
One of the best bands to ever exist, a band that's usually categorized as "gothic metal" yet they've never been afraid to truly express themselves as something extraordinary. 14 years later and I'll still never get over Peter Steele departing us so soon. Fun fact: This came out not long after the series finale of Oz, "Exeunt Omnes", where Pete actually had a short cameo as one of Schillinger's thugs that confronts Alvarez in the gym.
In my opinion, the best months to listen to Type O Negative are November and March. And May, September, December, June, July, February, August, October, April and of course January.
This song has particular meaning for me as my best friend Adrian W. died on 01/28/2019, in that exact same manner while shoveling snow in Evanston, IL. He was 2 months away from his 40th birthday. It hurt he isn't around. What hurts more is he didn't have kids.
''Two steps forward, three steps back Without warning, heart attack'' So chilling is the irony and self-fulfilling prophesy of these lyrics. Very sad indeed. Seems that the great ones always leave us and are taken from us. Snatched away from the world way before their time. R.I.P. Peter Steele
Performing is a great rush. You get addicted to that feeling and when it’s over, you are no longer that person. So you find ways to forget who you are until you can have that feeling back. Eventually, you have broke yourself down so much and compartmentalized yourself so much, being yourself is painful. You would rather be anyone but the you that suffers.
That guitar rifts is mind boggling addictive I can’t stop listening to this song... it was so satisfying with the entire song being good not just the guitar rift
damn, this song reminds me of the times when I was heavily addicted to substances and wandering around the hot spots of Moscow, attending concerts and parties that correspond in spirit to this track... I wanted to be a different person, to be cooler, I didn’t want to be myself...
One of the best musicians of his time, Pete Steele, never be forgotten . I like the thought that he actually was a vampire and is just asleep for the next 100 or so years. I was also very surprised to see a young Dan Fogler in a Type O Negative-video 😄👍
Everything in this song is done to perfection: from the shrill opening KERRAAANNNNGG to the thundering driving rhythm, including Steele's defiant powerful vocal, and of course, Hickey's sharp guitar solo and plaintive riff. I could listen to it a million times and never get tired.
The whole band was amazing and talented! That guitar, those drums, that voice! In a world where music is getting less about actual talent and more electronics, I miss Type O Negative. RIP Peter.
Peter Steele was an awesome dude! Loved Type O Negative back in the day. Want him to know people are still loving his music from beyond the grave! You're fucking awesome dude!
For me this tune is not at all depressing, instead it is a celebration of life and death in its essence, it defines the search for ultimate liberation. It fills me with super powerful joy and at the same time comfortable calmness. It's a point when you can easily keep a distance from every caricature in existence including yourself ;-). I would like to think that everyone that reaches this stage of awareness is a blessed being and should be dancing from cascades of ecstacy.
Type o was probably the most original band of 90s. One of the last great bands to come out of the USA. I just loved how well type o combined doom metal with 60s and70s music, to make something completely new.
My dad has shown me a lot of music over the years as I love to explore his taste of music that we now share. This has been one of my favourite songs for a long time and I keep coming back to listen to it. Def one of the greatest songs I've heard

I'd never describe myself as a some kind of Type O obsessive fan, but I genuinely miss Pete more than any other musician I loved who left too soon. I still can't believe he's gone and that we'll never hear any more new music from him.
This was the original ending for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. After Jacob's memory was obliviated, he completely forgot who he was and adopted multiple personalities. It was a more tragic ending that test audiences didn't go for.
You know, this song could be looked at in a very profound way. It basically foreshadows Peter's death, but (in doing so) also reveals his wishes and beliefs about death: The bridge section could be Pete's thoughts that people should celebrate the life, rather than mourn the death, of someone who has passed. In this case, he could be saying (if the song is indeed about himself) that he wished for people not to mourn at his funeral, but rather to celebrate him and his life.
Christopher Pollard I always thought it was a way of saying "He is now free from pain and suffering, so let's be happy for him. Don't be sad he's gone; be glad he isn't hurting (ie, no longer alive or, therefore, "him," which he didn't want to be) anymore." Someone who just wasn't meant to live in this existence.
I remember a couple months ago, I was high out my mind and I found them..I played their music and I had this insane connection with them..I became absolutely hooked man. I was really sad finding out Steele was dead because I have this mad crush on him, even after death there’s something about his music that still has me in a chokehold

I love that it was made on my year of birth lol
Can’t believe this track is 20 years old
This song is a true masterpiece and this band is one of the most underrated in music history.
Man I really miss you Peter. RIP to a true talent and a great band. 🤘🏼
Imagine the progression .. what he could of pumped out the past few years 😢
Apparently I've been living under a rock. Came looking after seeing Trivium's cover of the song this morning.
Great song!
Type O is one of the best bands of all time!! Check out songs like IYDKMIGTHTKY, Too Late: Frozen, Green Man, just check out every song they have lol \m/

Same for me ! x))
Never too late to discover great bands :)
Same here m8
I discovered this song at a very appropriate time in my life
me too
Yea? What happened?
I was feeling really depressed and wanting to change a lot of things about myself. This song made me feel better
+Michael Kolman good.
I discovered this song on skuzz tv
Every single moment is good.
Love me some TON!
of course!
Artur Czerwiński But these are all months there are! Whats the point?
Also Every fuckin' Thorsday
Two steps forward, three steps back
Without warning, heart attack

Peter...
I want all the lyrics
This song has particular meaning for me as my best friend Adrian W. died on 01/28/2019, in that exact same manner while shoveling snow in Evanston, IL. He was 2 months away from his 40th birthday. It hurt he isn't around. What hurts more is he didn't have kids.
14 лет прошло, достх пор слушаем.
''Without warning, heart attack
He fell asleep in the snow
Never woke up, died alone'' Somehow a prediction of his own death, RIP
Miss Melken will u kick me in the balls and tell me how pathetic I am for being a pervert
I'll kick you in the balls
everyone dies alone, doesn't matter how many friends you have
Between this and White Slavery, it's pretty obvious what killed Ol' Pete...
PETELUMINATI CONFIRMED!!!
The anthem of my high-school years. RIP Peter Steele
That moment, when you know that Steele is 'alive', because he was a vampire, pretending to be a human, who was pretending to be a vampire.
THAT WOULD BE AMAZING

''Two steps forward, three steps back

So chilling is the irony and self-fulfilling prophesy of these lyrics. Very sad indeed. Seems that the great ones always leave us and are taken from us. Snatched away from the world way before their time. R.I.P. Peter Steele
Vinton Bonner what about 6 inches forward and 5 inches back? :(
The guitar in this song is awesome such a unique sound I love type o negative
Performing is a great rush. You get addicted to that feeling and when it’s over, you are no longer that person. So you find ways to forget who you are until you can have that feeling back. Eventually, you have broke yourself down so much and compartmentalized yourself so much, being yourself is painful. You would rather be anyone but the you that suffers.
“The worst sin you have committed is that you have betrayed and destroyed yourself for nothing” - Fyodor Dostœvsky
I know i play guitar in my band it ak awesome feeling playing for people 🌚
Было неожиданно увидеть надпись «Не болтай!» 😩🤩
I love how by the end they mock themselves as well. Best band ever! Miss you Pete :(
Just discovered this Type O Negative song that I didn't know existed. Much emotions.
Welcome to the Drab Four lol
If you enjoyed this one, I know you'd live for anything by Mortal Sin.
Now he would be 54 years... today we complete 6 years without the green man! RIP
Listening to this in 2016... So sad but glad that the music will live on. RIP Pete
44.
Listening in 2017 now....this music will never get old...and never die. RIP Pete.
has it really been 6 years !?!?! god I miss this band :( everything dies ... FUCK!

"Don't go there to mourn, but to celebrate"-RIP Peter....8 years...can't believe it's been that long :(

Everything in this song is done to perfection: from the shrill opening KERRAAANNNNGG to the thundering driving rhythm, including Steele's defiant powerful vocal, and of course, Hickey's sharp guitar solo and plaintive riff. I could listen to it a million times and never get tired.
2:11 this part actually reminds me of what's his face with the, "I'm the kind of guy that laughs at a funeral, don't know what I mean? You soon will."
The whole band was amazing and talented!
That guitar, those drums, that voice! In a world where music is getting less about actual talent and more electronics, I miss Type O Negative.
RIP Peter.

Ое, русский
This is fantastic! And Dan Fogler's performance is kick ass! Type O Negative was such an amazing band
The song that introduced me to Type O Negative. RIP Peter Steele 💚
Pete ... You speak to my soul .. This song is on constant repeat. You're missed so much
Как же мне нравится плакат " Не болтай"
Типичный совковый плакат
согласна!
Is the singer Russian? Is that why the Russian poster?
@@alanhowitzer No, this is a floating boat from the USSR era. It says (Don't talk)
@@alanhowitzer Peter Steele claimed that he's a descendant of Stalin... It rather a lie - Steele was such a troll
Type o was probably the most original band of 90s. One of the last great bands to come out of the USA. I just loved how well type o combined doom metal with 60s and70s music, to make something completely new.
i really think this may be one of the best songs of all time
My dad has shown me a lot of music over the years as I love to explore his taste of music that we now share. This has been one of my favourite songs for a long time and I keep coming back to listen to it. Def one of the greatest songs I've heard
Kenny is so underrated. His solo was amazing.
Right
Story time: Josh lifting that keyboard looked so damn cool in 2003 I became a keyboard player as a teen and it changed my life (for worse) ever since. Thank you, Josh. You are an absolute phenomenon and great human. Long live Type O.
For worst? Why?
@@leonardoflorentinIt’s a joke
I think many of us have been victimized by cool looking musicians who influenced us to also become cool looking musicians and do cool musician shit
Damn it man. People like Peter should be immortal. Rip you legend 😢
Approaching Halloween 2024....damn I miss Peter 😞💚
That guitar riff gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it

My girlfriend, the love of my life, left me for a new man after a relationship of 4 years.
now this song helps me stay strong.

hell yeah
its always Type O time
@@MossadAgentEpstein Oh I feel ya, but October is just that little bit more special. Type O Negative's music is perfect for the changes that come with October. Sow, deep and hard music for a slower, darker and colder time of year.

It was fun Rosa. Could have been fun oh oh top of the mourning.
I couldn´t watched them live here at my small country because of my addiction on that time :( We always think there will be another chance .. forever 💚🖤
The guitar solo of this song is forever so hauntingly beautiful.

I'd never describe myself as a some kind of Type O obsessive fan, but I genuinely miss Pete more than any other musician I loved who left too soon. I still can't believe he's gone and that we'll never hear any more new music from him.

Thank you Type O Negative for being such a huge inspiration

I'm really struggling mentally with a myriad of issues I got going on, but I must say this is helping, TON's music is soothing to the soul.
This was the original ending for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. After Jacob's memory was obliviated, he completely forgot who he was and adopted multiple personalities. It was a more tragic ending that test audiences didn't go for.
CollectiveSin YES!!! lol
Epic!
Its a crime to not to have this on repeat.
I took it that the person was so bad or thought they were bad that people should celebrate their being gone.
2:26 simplemente es arte ❤
One of my best Type O songs ever in my books! So energizing !

I remember a couple months ago, I was high out my mind and I found them..I played their music and I had this insane connection with them..I became absolutely hooked man. I was really sad finding out Steele was dead because I have this mad crush on him, even after death there’s something about his music that still has me in a chokehold
RIP Petrus Thomas Ratajczyk aka Peter Steele....how many brilliant albums could you still have made....
