Hi! Denise, Denise, Denise! I've been watching RUclips videos for decades on every day issues with wigs and this is the first time I ever liked or ever comment. You're awesome; You maybe on to something here Denise! I will try this method. you come across to me so genuine, helpful and pleasant! Thank you!
Hi Denise: I always learn from your wig reviews. I had the same problem with my lace fronts. I notice you do not usually use a wig grip or cap. I’m having the worst problem keeping my wigs secure. I have bio hair and I’ve tried everything. The only thing that comes close is using It Stays. It was helpful to see how you place the It Stays on your skin and hair. I will give that a try. Thank you and keep these reviews coming.
Hi, Karen. I dislike wig grips and caps and don't use them. The exception is when I wear my headband wig to the gym, then I use a wig grip. It Stays has been a PERFECT solution for me.
Awesome, Denise! Thank you! I've got one that I have to use tape AND 'IT Stays' in order to keep it from buckling. Next step, I think, is to add a stitch where the lace meets the cap/ ear tab to keep it "taught". Have you repaired or dealt with one that stubborn?
Hi there. Very informative video. My problem is that I'm struggling to find full lace wigs in good quality what are blonde. Feeling like market is more focused on dark skin girls and not much transparent laces on the market unless you pay 1000s of dollars 🤷🏼♀️
Yes, that is a HUGE dilemma. We just have to keep educating the white girl wig wearing community so that we become as prolific and attractive a market as our black sisters.... they have such a jump start on us, though, as it has been so much more accepted to wear wigs and weaves for a long time, while we worry so much that people will know we are wearing a wig. We can learn a lot from their confidence.
This is exactly how my Turn is. I’ve been using Got2B glued, but even then it won’t stay down. I don’t have any pinking shears at the moment so I may try using my fine hair cutting scissors 😳
I have seen people use other scissors as well... pinking shears are so big and bulky so if your area is tiny, maybe even a little cuticle scissors would work.... I've seen that done but haven't tried it.
@@heywigsister my hair cutting shears are small and actually worked great! I couldn’t believe how much better the hairline looked after and I didn’t have to use anything to hold it down. Thanks, Denise!
Oooh... good question.... could you use a little super glue to seal the spot where it is popping out? Maybe the gel kind so it is easier to work with and not so runny? That is probably what I would do.
Hey. Sorry I know this is ages after you actually posted this but I’m trying to find some answers. I use a lace frontal to cover my bald patch but the very edge of my lace, my hairline, tends to look dirty and like a black like. How can I stop the lace curling like that xx
Would this work with a T top human hair wig? I am a little afraid the lace is too delicate. I (without thinking) bought one from a wig sister without realizing her circumference was a full inch larger than mine, which I think stretched the lace. I spent way too much on the wig and am trying to figure out if I just need to resell for someone with a larger head. Mine is pulling up like this on the top and by the ears on both sides🙁 It may just be too big for me I don't know.
Thanks Denise for the tip. All my lace wigs buckle like that, so it must just be our head shapes.LOL Question, how long does it take for the "It's Stays" to dry? I've seen where some video's where the ladies wait until it starts to get tacky, before they put on their wigs. Again, Thanks for your tips!!!!☺
That's a great question. Probably no more than 10 minutes. I never wait for t to get tacky and it dries just fine, although I have never tested how long it takes.
Hi! It is an adhesive that is used for a lot of things, including wigs. It is VERY water soluble so just a little water on a washcloth is all that is needed. Here is a video I did: ruclips.net/video/DcWQalk0fPI/видео.htmlsi=fjCTYxaWZTwopuCn
My brand new wigs do that when I put them on, so they're not stretched out - they literally just won't stay flat on my head, it's like the wig is coming up. I worry it's because I have too much hair underneath but what are some other reasons for this? I'd really like to go glueless.
Sometimes it is fit... and I've had them do this from the wig grip being too thick. When that happens I push it as far back as I can and still have it stay on my head. Some wig grips and thinner than others. My favorite is from The Hair Grip (and I've tried LOTS): www.thehairgrip.com/ The code Denise20 saves 20% (I don't get any kind of kick back from it, she was nice enough to give me a code to share when I told her how much I loved her grips)
I have not personally done this but I have heard from many wig sisters that they get the cap wet and then put it on a wig head to dry... if the head is a little bigger than the cap it will stretch. Amazon has different sizes of canvas block heads that you can buy... this is the one I have in the 22" size but they do have up to a 24 inch. I'm not sure how much it will stretch, though.... probably only a little. amzn.to/2VC0C1i
Yes and I think it works just the same. I think I have tried every brand out there and truly cannot tell an appreciable difference between them. Some people say they can but I really can't.
That is a really good question.... I have not had a problem with that. I'm wondering why it stretched out after washing? I have never had that happen.... did you put it on a wig head to dry while still wet? I have heard about people doing that to stretch them out. How much did it stretch and what is it made of (is it mostly wefted)? I've heard of people sewing a few wefts together to help make a cap smaller, you could try that.
@@heywigsister Last time I washed it, I did not have it on the wig head. I just washed it again, leaving it on the head while washing and now it's fine. I put it on the wig head and pinned it down. I was very careful while washing with wig shampoo and conditioner. Thank you Denise!
This stretching is what happens to my wigs but not necessarily due to washing. I think it is from taking them on/off everyday. I’m trying to figure out how to make it stop because wigs are expensive!
It depends on the wig, and sometimes you just can't. I will do a video on this but for now I would recommend trying some translucent powder, that is what I do. Like I said, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Not if you take time to clean the lace after wearing. If you don't then it will be a little tacky and will actually somewhat adhere again the next time you wear. Very easy to clean off, though.
My girl mono id frayed & somewhat frizzy in the bangs & I Hate That it looks bad so I don't wear her anymore. Unfortunately I've only worn her 3 or 4 times so I'm very frustrated. Do you have any advice for the frizzy bangs? Thank you for everything 😊
You know, I wonder if you accidentally got heat on those bangs, possibly from the oven. That is EXACTLY what happened to my Wynter and it sounds so much the same. It is so easy to do!
@@tlsimonssonIt gently steamed my frizzy bangs using a smooth brush & it was an improvement. Try it on a old wig or in an inconspicuous place if you've never steamed before. Lots of videos on steaming. Hope this helps.
I did pinking sheers on my new wig today and used ghostbond, laid in sections and absolutely hate it lol I’m used to doing got to be glued method. From what I’ve learned it’s the way the lacefront is constructed when it’s made on a machine it’s pressed flat. I’ve heard to cut the front into 3 sections to give it more roundness to fit the head shape and less buckle and I’ve heard that full lace wigs that are very expensive have these little triangles on the lace construction in the back by the wefts that will help with the roundness of the face. It’s hard for me to explain I’m very new to this. My hair started falling out big time over the last two years and wigs have become a huge confidence booster 💕💕💕much love to you!!
The one thing I am learning as I expand into other types of wigs is that there is definitely different kinds of lace out there... I learned that when I reviewed Vivica Fox Orlando. That lace was completely different than the lace on these major name brand "ready to wear" wigs... that kind of lace definitely needs to be adhered with something. I do want to get more experience with those, though, because they are so much more affordable!
Omg thank you. I thought I was going crazy from it. It’s only with a couple of my wigs

That is my technique as well. Girl mono buckled on me as well and when I Googled I found it was a common issue. So not just you. Thanks for the video.
I am finding that to be true the more people I talk to... so strange. Glad to have a solution, though!!

Oh my gosh, stubborn is right!! I haven't had that happen yet, but I am sure it is just a matter of time. Kudos to you for not giving up!
I'm liking your new camera....the close up is amazing 👍
Right?? I am so excited about this!!!
If It Stays loosens with water, how do you not sweat it off!? I have trouble sweating in the spring and summer when the humidity is high!
Perfect timing, I have a new wig that the lace lifts a little.I also want to say👍👍 on your new camera.
I hope you have much success with this approach!
Thank you so much! I'm gonna give it a try, does it make your skin upset at all?

Do you use a wig grip or cap? Does the stay hold enough not to use them?
