- This is one of the few times we are having trouble figuring out how there is any money to be made on a gaming PC sale. For only $175 we got a fully working computer with an Intel i7 4790K and a GTX 960… with free shipping!?

For $175, as long as it's an actual computer, and not just a box of confetti, that seems like a win.
Nah for 175 I would expect something pretty decent if you were to take your time to do it yourself
That system is only worth around $175. It has a 9yr old cpu that is 8 generations old and an equally old graphics card. There isn't much special about this.
@@JamesSmith-sw3nk A 4790k is like $50-60 though on ebay, the only time I would recommend getting a Xeon
$250 on ebay now
@@schneeball2384how high are your standards lmao thats about the best u can get
I had a 4790K/GTX 960 system for a long time. The 960 definitely felt underpowered, but oh man I had some fun Skyrimming away on that old thing. I still have the 960 and use it in a retro XP build now, because it is the very last NVIDIA card with XP support. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. :)
lol
aisle
I use 1080 Ti in Xp too, it support older DX versions too !
What did you do, were did you go wrong, drivers you can't find ?
Guess you'll double the price?
LOL I use a 4790K with a 3060 Ti 💀 I know I know crazy bottle neck but it still hangs with the AAA titles at higher res
I'd pay 175 easily for this to be shipped to me. That is a great deal for what it is. I'm astonished actually.
Anything under a 6700k is useless for gaming. A 960 is barely faster than a 750ti. E-waste.
@@jurpo6bro not for $175. That’s crazy!
@@jurpo6 You thought that was e-waste? Try buying dell optiplexes, I bought 3 of them, 2 died from some weird 3,2 amber light bug(that's impossible to fix due to the bios I think), and the last one wouldn't accept my Wifi card.
@DoctorFreeman0 weird. I've bought about 12-13 Optiplexes in the last couple yrs and only had a problem w 1(had to dig around for video drivers for the old graphics card I put in it)
@@zerocal76 I think it has to do with a bios problem, I updated to the latest bios and then boom didn't work anymore or I just have bad luck.
Wow who woulda thought not having a cpu cooler all the way mounted woulda mattered... hmm😂
lol
I love how you guys feature systems that will be on your site.
Do you have any signature builds you guys prefer in house? Have you made a video on one yet? Keep up the great work
Found a PC with a i7 3770, 16gb, 256gb ssd and a gtx 1050ti in it all for 80usd cant wait to test it out
That 1050ti alone is worth about that much. Nice find. What site, m
Good find
So you applied thermal paste, screwed the heatsink down, and replaced the SSD with one (512 GB) that cost maybe $25, and are charging more than double at $400.00 plus shipping at PCBROS. I remember when you guys didn't jack up the price of on air feature PCs. Try changing the price to $325 to be reasonable, and it may sell.
Those temps, oof. Decent price though overall. I recently built a similar specced system (except with a 4790S and GTX1650 instead of the 4790K and GTX960) for around £125 ($152) and with the 960 being much cheaper along with the combination of maybe ebay seller fee reduction weekends, you could extract a reasonable margin from that $179
Wow that is an awesome PC for 150
@@luisgoncalves2864 It was, but part of it was also luck, with winning the base system for £20 in an auction as a "for parts or not working" system; only thing that was needed to be replaced was the fan inside the PSU as the bearings had gone, came with an i5, 16GB RAM and a 1TB HDD, just slapping in a 128GB SSD along with those other 2 parts is why it was so cheap innthe end.
I think you got a good deal. Your investments were the initial cost, testing and bench marking, some time cleaning it up, and a little thermal paste. Even if you had to have replaced the cooler I think it still would have been worth it. Good deal!
Gotta love the 100 degrees on the CPU. "Toasty" is right. No thanks
🤣🤣🤣
Even my FX8320 never got that hot. 😂
I enjoy your videos and find them helpful at times . Thanks ...
"... find them helpful at times." Talk about being damned by faint praise! 😂😂
Right as I put my phone down a new video comes out and it doesn’t disappoint me🔥
lol
For $175 that is hard to beat, especially with an old school Lian Li case.
I literally picked an alien aurora r4 off the top of a dumpster at my job one day (apartment maintenance). This was in 2017, and the pc was already a few years old. Needless to say it would turn on and power cycle with no display. Pulled off the "cooler master" 120mm aio... the guy installed the bracket upside down so it had no contact. Had decent gaming specs and booted right up afterwards, wiped it and installed fresh windows. Ended up selling it to my friend pretty cheap. If i remmeber correctly it had a i7 3620, and a decent radeon gpu. I couldnt complain. Got it back when the power button stopped working and still have it because of the story behind it...
The thing with used pc’s/ parts sometimes people are just selling them because they are taking up space not because they aren’t working so while it’s a hit or miss there’s nothing wrong ever with buying used parts. I was able to build a decent rig for under 170 and it holds up pretty well. Just gotta look for those good deals and know what your looking for.
The board may actually support overclocking. I had a Gigabyte H81 board and Pentium G3258 overclocking with it worked as fine just like with Sabertooth Z87 I got later.
throw in the dust for free - what a bargain
The dust and thermal paste eww.
Over week ago I pick dell inspiron 3671 from 2020 with i5 9400, 16gb ddr4 ram, m.2 sdd 1tb for $5 at estate sale so far still run good
That Little Lian Li Computer Case, Reminds Me Of A Micro Fridge, Which College Students Use In Their Dorm Rooms For Beer . . . lol . . .
Good Catch On Finding The Loose CPU Fan, Which Was Barely Sitting On, And Barely Connected To The Mainboard, With The Absolute Minimal Thermal Paste Connected To The CPU . . .
Wow, What An Oversight By The Company, Who Supposedly Tested That Computer, Prior To Offering It For Resale . . . ;-o
I like what you guys are doing. BTW, it looks like this seller is right down the road from me in Sacramento CA. They apparently do have a bricks 'N mortar warehouse there. Lots of 6th gen stuff in the same price range as yours.
dope! hope they ship to Toronto!
Could you recomend or /do a complete i5 or i7 build of readily available parts. (not one off special find prices) pre built ok but case swap. I want to build a PC that looks like a gaming PC with lower specs for emulation up to Ps3 high end build not needed. The first one I built cost 100 all ebay. I have been buying older dells at $18-23 i5-i7 16g ddr3 w/ Os win10 pro 256g ssd
I have worked with OEM's for over 29 years and PSU's as low as 165w Low-Profile are still being manufactured. I recently helped another business owner source NEW (MFG date 12/20/2022) 285w, 375w & 440w Power supplies for custom fabricated and integrated systems. When I asked the 7 MFG's if they ever plan on discontinuing or increasing the low-end wattage components, they resoundingly said no. There is still high demand for such things.
If you're prepared to clean and reapply thermal paste to the CPU and GPU then this could be a really good buy. There's plenty worse prebuilt PCs being sold on eBay for more money that $175 USD. Also you could spend a little more and get a better second hand GPU like a Rx 570 8gb, Rx 580 8gb, GTX 1060 6gb.
what about a gtx 1080?
(8gb)
@@sammyj.wilsin9852 this computer could use a GTX 1080, PSU just has enough juice for it. If it's worth buying a GTX 1080 I don't know. A newer AMD 6600 is faster than a GTX 1080 so I would want the 1080 to be cheaper than one of them.
4c/8t still has a sweet spot in my heart great cpus even today
Just for gaming though.
Love your content!
FSR that badboy. It wasnt running like that its whole life. It got drop kicked in drop shipping process. It was added to replace a more capable $$ valuable cooler, cooler, after the testing with the old solution this stock coller was added and it was shipped.. I would imagine the cooler It had was harvested for resale or use in a system that needed it more.
How do y'all get the stats in gameplay? I'd love to be able to check that out on my own system. As always, really enjoy your videos.
eBay really needs to get a handle on 16 year olds selling garbage. Selling off your 10 year old pile of crap isn't a business, it's a scam.
On the systems you buy to show and sale through your videos do you do health test on the hard drives to inform future buyers of it's health to let them know ???
I think they test the hard drives. They have to warranty the computers for up to one year so it wouldn't make sense to ship out computers with bad hard drives or they would be dealing with a lot of returns
Great stuff guys always , i have learn so much in this chanell two weeks ago i build a pemtuin g 6400 pair with a xfx 570 4g on a msi 410m pro mobo 600watt thermal take smart series psu 16gb hp ram 2667mgz kingston ssd 512gb on atx case dont remember the brand , got everything on facebook market place for 150$ was able to play fornite 1080p low settings drx12 with avg fps of 80, 7ms latency plug on the vga port on a acer 24 inch monitor also oncluded on the facebook market place 150$ full set up monitor and preriferals had it for a couple days then i sold it on fb market place for 300$ thank you guys best teachers ever peace.
i build these often but with a GTX 970, total cost for all the parts is like 150 / 200 euro
You’d be surprised how long a CPU will last thermal throttling. A system I had at work thermal throttled for years before anybody bothered to mention it to me. It was a P4, I actually snagged it for myself when we retired that PC, and it died shortly after.
I’m still using the 4790k overclocked to 4.5 ghz with a RTX 3060ti and 32gb of ram, it’s a beast system even though some specs are outdated.
Nice!
I’m using a 3930k OC’d to 4.5 and a 2070s ftw3 w/ 32 gb ram and zero bottlenecks. Still a total beast.
Sounds like a great PC!
Where I live in Thailand there is this one guy that must never sleep and builds PCs all the live long day as his specialty is a PC with a dual E3-1230 v5 with 64 gig ram for some unbelievable pricing. Stuffs some nice case he bought full of RGB fans and uses the all in one liquid coolers and bang you have a system that to the ohhhh and ahhhh crowd is amazing. 8 cores and `6 threads with 64 gigs of ram sounds impressive to the less than average Joe here in Thailand.
I’d actually love a pc case like this! Any recommendations???
That system is totally worth $175 bucks. It would be a great starter gaming PC as long as the person has a friend that can help them with thermal paste and cleaning, maybe some driver updates and such. I'd buy it if I needed a cheap gaming PC.
Do you have any recommendations for a starter pc around 200/250 range kinda like this? Because I’m looking to sell my Xbox 1s and use the money for a pc that can run the same games as my Xbox and more, thanks for your time bro 🙏🏼
I'm still running a 4790K in my secondary rig. That's a HOT CPU. Damn thing has always idled at 45C even with a Noctua DH-15, even with an AIO with 240mm rad.
I've kept it at the max stable overclock all of its life (4.4 Ghz)
It didn't run much cooler stock clocked. Just one of the features of some of the old hardware, you can heat your house with it in the winter. Especially here in Florida.
Good job! but would like to see goafic frametime
One of those heat sink clips isn't locked. They should all be in the same orientation. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I just did that price with a Xeon-980-Chinese ssd and a 2016 mb, ram has went down to 20 for 16gb new on Amazon… it did take a full week to find parts on marketplace but it’s doable
That case alone would be worth the money. As far as the system itself it would be a great first PC for a younger kid. You can take it apart and teach them about how to clean and install the parts.
It’s a goodwill auction pc based on the sticker you found, so basically one man’s junk
I think its good. Im not sure if thats a dd3 or 4 board; im leaning towards 3 because I think ddr4 didnt start till 5th gen intel. but I have a gtx780, i7 2nd gen w 16 gigs ddr3, and its been very adequate for what I do: minecraft, wow, and Star trek armada; which is an older game, but a favorite.
Its ddr 3 yes
What app you using to see performance of ur hardware?
Bro 1:38 i literally am doing that right now bought a i7-3700 pc with 8gb ddr3 for $52, and i bought a mining rx 470 8gb for $50, and i also bought an extra 8gb of ram for $12 then a 8tb hdd for $110 this is going to be my next personal pc until i decide to upgrade to a ryzen system 😂 thanks for the vid toasty really glad i found this channel
That's actually a good case for GPU testers
Yall should add a cheap tower cooler and a used 1660 and see how it performs.
For an upgrade the 960 could be sold for $20 and buy a $50 rx 580. It would improve it no end
That psu was released 12 years ago lol. Wow. Hope the ripple isn't as bad as the bulging caps😂
I would replace that PSU ASAP, anything more than 10 years for a PSU is asking for trouble.
I have an Antec power supply from 2008 still going strong
Why didn't you check what motherboard was used and other specs, apart cpu and gpu? It would've be interesting.
Should I buy a windows key from gvg mall idk it looks kinda sketchy?
An outstanding deal in my book.
I currently have a Gateway with i5 4440 3.1ghz, 4x 4gb random sticks ddr3, 750 GB hdd, RX 560D 4GB. So far total cost to me... Maybe $65? 45 for the gpu I just put in. Like $15 for the monitor, Dell FP1707 or something, and $5 to replace a bad ram stick. 😂
9:08 This should be considered a crime again PCs everywhere. Literal torture. That cooler could at least hold the thing back around the low 80s at least
I bought this hw combo new as my first build a long time ago, 4790K/960
hello i am a pc noob, can someone please tell me what is at the top left? the little info panel with the stats.. id like to use it to run some tests.. thanks in adv..
Can you run VR mark as a part of your testing?
Would have been nice to see the performance numbers after you cleaned too....dust and cigarette smoke can really mess a computer up !
Great price for what you are getting. The heat sink being held on by plastic clips is super sketchy though.
Actually, this is a win. I'd buy this for my son since he wants to be a gamer and he's only 7. Living paycheck-to-paycheck certainly does hurt because I cannot get what he wants. Soon son... realy soon I will get you one of these for the first time. Leaving comments for support and remembrance to come back to.
Thanks for your help in showing these builds. Stay Toasty, bros!
Thats performing same like my intel xeon w3550 16gb ram gtx1650 and im pretty sure it’s supposed to perform better, help me please
Hello 😊
What is the model of the tower please
Thanks 😊
why would you let the cpu run at 100 c
Can't find these on the ebay store for under $250
What software is used to display the stats on upper left (cpu gpu temp etc)? Thanks.

$175 on this is a great deal add a GTX 1650 or 1660 and you turn it into a $400-$500 PC. Ditch the small SSD for a 1tb or 2tb ram is great
Good video, but maybe add a 3060 to this i7 built and Steamos and retest it, I believe a buyer will have a great gaming experience for years to come, especially with the ITX form factor it is a great living room pc.
When buying an older pc, it's always a case of "buyer beware.". If you know how to deal with any problems that come up, then you got a deal.
I bought 2 Dell Optiplex 3020 SFFs and they both died due to the 3,2 amber of death. As long as it's not a Dell computer before 2016, you should be good with older office PCs.
can you give me a gpu or processor to upgrade?
thanks
Does anyone know the name of the case?
These look like bulk internet cafe systems
Think it was a bargin even though it needed cleaning and some maintenance..if it was listed used then one should expect these minor issues. Refurb is a different story but you should always look inside as you guys stated . Steal of a deal ..
Decent deal but I paid $360 for my pc. Which has a Has Ryzen 5 3600
RX6600 Eagle 8GB
16GB DDR4 Ram
512GB SSD
500W Bronze PSU
Gigabyte B450M Wi-Fi
Montech X1 RGB
Windows 11 home
Not bad!!!!!
This is a win even with it being dirty in the right hands, if this got in the hands of a noob to PC's this would have been a loss. They probably would not have realized the cooler wasn't mounted properly.
The PSU is 12 years+ old though, I would be careful and try to replace it ASAP.
Either stolen, repossessed, or they have so much inventory that they have to take a loss to make room on stuff they can actually make money on.
Their eBay store is shut down..
Did you guys oced that i7 4790k? Couse i sow it hit 4.4 thats not stock speeds that cpu usualy its more or less like my i7 4770 both in stock speeds.

Motherboard: ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 - Basic micro-ATX motherboard with support for Ryzen processors. Around 30 euros.
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 2666MHz - A budget-friendly RAM kit. Approximately 20 euros.
Storage: Kingston A400 120GB SATA SSD - Budget-friendly SSD for basic storage needs. Around 10 to 15 euros.
Power Supply: EVGA 400 W1, 80+ WHITE 400W - Budget-friendly PSU with 80+ White efficiency rating. Approximately 20 euros.
Case: DIYPC MA01 MicroATX Mini Tower Case - A budget-friendly micro-ATX case. Around 15 to 20 euros.
Total: Approximately 155 to 175 euros.
Man imma get a cheapo with a compatible motherboard, put a used i9 in it, grab a new scuff or PS5 pro controller and input swap on apex and stream. Literally my whole goal in gaming
it's all used parts, older ones that nobody really wants anymore except for the cpu since they are time tested. And they didn't spend anytime cleaning, tuning or tweaking it at all. Exact opposite of quality control. That's why its cheap.
i got a i7 4790 with a gtx 1070ti 32 gb ddr 3 1600 and i play that game on high dx12 80 to 120 fps
I dont get it, why not clean ?
Lol they raised prices!
A 970 and 4 sticks of ram and this would be entirely different pc for same cost more or less
Well that because the old specs that sill runs I can call that is not a scam it is worth it for 175 dollars it performs better than the Chromebook’s at least.
