As a helicopter mechanic it hurts me to see you go straight to full throttle without giving the engine and transmission a chance to warm up and stabilize but for DCS this is a very efficient startup routine. I only just got into DCS rotorywing and the Huey but its a great module and I hope to see more of it. Thanks.
Thanks man, I've been flying the Huey for a month or so and have been using the lazy autostart. The tutorial was quick and concise, exactly what I was looking for!
THANK YOU!! It was my very first DCS experience and I kept looking for the 'start' button for like 20 minutes before I gave up and googled the answer. No wonder I couldn't find it... at least I'm *very* familiar with the instruments now 😅
I bought the Huey a few weeks ago. It was my first rotary wing and the first few hours were very VERY challenging but also extremely rewarding. The systems are pretty simple, the flight dynamics take work to get under control. I can't recommend the Huey enough. Its a great module. A bonus is that the scenery takes on a whole new perspective at 50 feet and under 100 kts.
A simpler way is L WIN Home, which puts the startup in auto sequence mode. Takes away all the hard work of remembering what switches to push. Same with shutdown, which is L WIN End.
Thanks. Made myself an idiot list from your video. Taking off and flying is all good and well, it's the landing I'm really struggling with. Even after watching several tutorials. Maybe I need to make myself a collective!
Ironically enough this is the one module I own that I don't know how to cold start manually. I always end up auto starting the Huey but perhaps now I'll have to learn it...
Yes, trying to get basic startup for most then slowly move onto each airframe. We have several AV-8 guys running training at our discord. Pop along and hit them up.
@@TacticalPascale Thanks TP! I've seen av8b training events, however I couldn't attend because of the time it was held. Will definitely keep an eye for future training events!

Sounds like a cool job. I understand fully your pain at seeing things done in this manner, I can’t watch GCI videos 😆
You can actually let off the starter button when the gas producer hits 40. Less stress and the starter, but it's just a game.

You’re welcome, more coming over the next few days.
I've been wanting to buy the Huey for a while now, think this settles this! Thanks!
It’s a great module.

Great quick tutorial to help me on my way!

I did that as well until I made myself a cold start kneeboard... Haven't used the kneeboard much, as I kinda learned it from just making it ^^
I'm confused, you didn't have "fortunate son" playing. Literally unwatchable.
Mandatory UH-1H song maaan :D :D

Any chance we'll see av8b tutorials as well?

I’ll get on it soon.
How do you start up the 1 Charlie, 1 Hilo is a bit different
Forget about barometeic pressure for altimeter before take off
Well you didn’t do any of the stuff with the throttle that revolves around the engine idle stop.
So, where's the buutton that plays Run Through the Jungle?
Just above the one that toggles Fortunate Son
You should also have made a video for those who want to just use the buttons. I don't want to bind any new buttons.
I'm just dumb I'm sorry
Cool how long it take to gat the helicapter lisens and what to with school stady I want fly
Please zoom in on your key binds, it hurts my eyes. lol I'm not 20/20 any more......olo
Dam I never have a helicopter but that's a lot of buttons

Like the other guy said, this is nothing. :D
