The Crazy Story of Jimmy Page's Dragon Telecaster & PRS SE Santana Singlecut Trem?! || ASKgufish - Видеоклипы
That Jimmy Page Telecaster is flashy as hell
Random Guy Yes, but not as flashy as Clapton’s Cream SG, The Fool.
You should totally demo the PRS SE Paul's guitar.
I mean, the Dragon Tele is not exactly an obscure guitar. Anyone who knows their Zeppelin, or at least watched performances from Led Zep I would know about the Tele. I think it's pretty badass.
I mean, it's part of the reason Jeff Buckley loved using one.
If you look at Jimmy in the studio, he played all types of guitars not just his famous '59 'burst. His first pro level guitar was an early Pre-CBS sunburst Strat. He used Strats and Teles in his session career (and a Black Les Paul custom as well). He played a Tele in the Yardbirds and in Zeppelin. He played a Strat in the Firm. So to say he was a "Les Paul guy" may hold true for his stage appearances with Zep after mid '69, but he was always a Fender player and returned to them time and again over his career.
Yes! He chose to play the Les Paul on stage because of the stronger sound that's more usable for live situations without the possibility of studio editing. He also used Danelectros a lot
Yeah! Page is a multi guitar man
Get it, Hunter!! Fun to see you in these videos, good job bud, hope all is well.
Playing heavy metal on vintage style teles is the best thing ever.
I wasn’t a fan but my new Gold Top Gibson 2019 Les Paul 1950 Studio will be here tomorrow. So, this is my first Gibson and the 6th Guitar in my present collection. You actually helped me pick out the year.
I wish that you make a demo of the dragon telecaster. It seems really cool. Page is well known for using telecaster in recording and known for live appearances using a Les paul
Dude, dude, dude, dude, check out the new semihollow body guitars from Ibanez, they stand on the affordable range
Can we appreciate the fact that it's no longer "hEy trY THis IBAneZ" but now it's "SolAR SINGlecUT!!"
The comment over yours suggets an Ibanez semihollow
haha holy shit-so here I am watching your video as I normally would. My wife comes down right as you shout me out. It was like it was planned and now she thinks I was gloating.
Will you ever do a Hagström?
Maybe ”Fantomen”?
That or a Swede. I know ive been wanting to get an old 70s or 80s model Swede for some time now.
Cool to now new guitar news
Stairway to Heaven solo was on a telecaster. 'Nuff said
I feel so famous.
The mirror look was inspired by the popular clothing choices at the time, the rage was mirrors on dresses and shoes at the time.
I’d love to here how a dragon 🐉 tele would handle some metal.
Jimmy page didn’t use them on stage very much, but he used a telecaster in the studio. A lot of their famous riffs are actually recorded on a telecaster
Jimmy Page's Telecaster was a gift to him from Jeff Beck while they were in The Yard Birds together for a short while; upon Beck's departure from the group he told Page to keep the guitar.
Soooo TLD;R Jimmy Page has been playing Tele's and DanElectro's waaay longer than he had Gibson's.
I think Jimmy's "connection" to the Les Paul could plausibly be a contractual one .
Any plans to check out a Balaguer Astra? Offset single cut. Very cool!
Try 10S Aztec Gold. $499, Tesla Pickups and in a gold reliced finished
The Santana model looks sweet to me. I'd like to try a 24 fret 24.5 scale.
mola mola fish shirt!!
Not sure if you know but solar released a singlecut. Kappa
One of my favorite scores would have to be the Tron: Legacy score by Daft Punk. It is so amazing to me.
Not my brand of guitars, but hey it's been awhile since I've watched a agu video :).
I really like my dragon! Sounds awesome! Very touch sensitive pickups and the neck is awesome! I have played Gibson S.G's as my main guitar for 30 years. The dragon is my new #1! Sorry Helena and Shirley! I still love your S.G. goodness!
Yoooooooo!!! Dude! Have you seen the new 2019 dean guitars?! What do you think of the new thoroughbred single cut? I think it looks awesome, one even comes with a floyd! Also I'd like to know your opinion on the Dean ML shape. Thanks heaps man, love your channel :)
Your thoughts on D'angelico guitars? And any chance of a demo?
Tele on a lot of the recordings. I've heard he needed humbuckers live coz the tele hummed to much :o
what do you think about nazgul and sentient pickups for 7 string?
Have you seen the new Fender Powercaster ? That roasted maple neck looks so damn good. Maybe get one in for a review ?
Yes please demo the dragon tele
Might as well get a Squire Classic Vibe, or Fender Classic 60s Tele and make it look like the Page Tele of your choice
Jimmi played Tele in early years and in Studio. Live the single coils was pain to controll, considering there was no PA, so he have to have multi 100w heads to cut thru. So he was searching for a Les Paul, what would sound "Tele enough" and giged with that. In studio, he used many different guitars
Please review the SE Paul's guitar, and I'd welcome a Page tele review
Dragon. Love it.
Totally jonsin' for this guitar, given that Jimmy Page was my first guitar hero. Out of my price range for now, but who knows maybe if Fender has another 48 mo, no interest deal at one of the big Music distributors, maybe.... although I might jump on the Kurt Cobain Jaguar instead, in that case. Love your reviews - keep up the good work.....
Love that Telecaster. Glam
Yes to dragon tele. Would love to hear some riffage from that guitar.
Jimmy Page also played a Danelectro too!
Definitely review a Paul's Guitar over the Santana, it's just a SC version of the normal Santana that's been in the lineup for many many years
Santana se single cut sounds like an awesome MOD platform.
Page used a Telecaster on pretty much ever Zep album (including the solo in Stairway to Heaven), but rarely used one live after LZII. He also used a Danelectro as his DADGAD guitar (as seen on live videos of performances of Kashmir), as well as a Rickenbacker 12 string in the studio (notably on The Song Remains The Same and the intro and outro of Achilles Last Stand). He also used a Strat on In The Evening. But yeah, that Dragon Tele totally isn't a cash grab; that is one hell of a legendary axe. Fender making a Pagey Tele is a lot more honest than Gibson making Hendrix models ("BECAUSE JIMI HAD A V AND SG WE NEED TO MAKE THOSE AS SIGNATURE CUSTOM SHOP $7000 GUITARS!!!").
Yeah the solo on Stairway to Heaven was recorded on a Tele. Most of Led Zeppelin’s studio work was on a tele
Ooh what's that in the background
I saw a question from Discord where can I get in that server?
I want you to do the Newish Epiphone Lp prophecy in blue!
You should check out a group called Jungle. Good music to listen to whilst working
I’d love to see you play an airline, rickenbacker, white falcon, and a jaguar
Have you checked out The Black Queen? It's Greg Puciato's (The Dillinger Escape Plan) main project now. Wikipedia classifies them as synthwave, new wave and dreampop.
@Otasan wat
What about the solar singlecut
Yes, demo either of those Page model Teles. Teles are used in all genres of music.
How do you feel about Revocation and Dave Davidson? I'd love to see one of Dave's signature Jacksons on the channel
you better use your Marshall if you ever get to demo the jimmy page tele
I love the tone and it's a 24 fret and wide fat
You can get other tones by playing with both controls you be surprised
Toll for the Tele didn't appear...but I WANNA SEE IT DEMO'D!
You can see the original in the live footage from Zep's performance on Danish tv
I just wanna see you play communication breakdown on the page tele
Nice shout out to cheddar
Thing is though you would play metal on it, when you demo someone’s signature you would at least expect to hear a few riffs from the band but you play straight up metal which no one would be using a dragon tele for, they’d want to sound like Jimmy so you let them know how it sounds
Tell PRS you need to demo one of those new Santana models.
Also, Knocked Loose is recording an album this year!
Y’all better get your mosh chops ready 😏
Most of the Zep stuff was recorded with the Tele.
I think the confusion over the Santana model is in the naming, Paul's guitar has 'TCI' pickups, designed to sound like a fat P-90 in a way, Santana came along and said I love that but don't want the flash of the split feature and so they made his set without them, calling them the 'TCI S'
Yes.
If you didn't say that this guy's name was Mark Massey, I'd thought Fluff is your patreon.
Sounds to me like you lean towards deep house and trance, you tried Dash Berlin's music? Also anything with Christina Novelli
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give them a shot on Spotify!
If they made other colors than gold that would be tight for the Santana guitar.i rarely like gold and the one they used isn't the worst.
It looks good though.
any chance of demoing a kiesel?
What do you think of three days grace? They're in if my favorite bands, and I just wanted to hear of what you thought of them
They were cool before the original singer left, since then, um..sounds like they are marketing to 12 to 16 year olds.
Check out the new I prevail single, it's pretty sick too!
PLEASE REVIEW THE DRAGON TELE......
2:56 I like your cat.
As a cranky dad, I'm okay with seeing you spit metal from that tele.
First four albums of Led Zeppelin were mostly done with a telecaster. And the telecaster was not giving to him by Jeff Beck. Jeff Beck left it in the studio and Jimmy Page took it when they both were with the Yardbirds and paid him back for it sometime in the late 70's. I read Jimmy Pages autobiography.
Do the tele!
Please do the dragon
I'm pretty sure Page used Teles and Vox amps when recording and used Les Pauls and other humbucker and equipped Gibsons live to reduce hum
I find the new PRS Santana SE DOUBLE cut more interesting.
Forget the single cut, new 7 string solars!!
every PRS artist who have a signature core use their signature SE too, that's why I love PRS SE, except Santana.
The customshop guitars are 45-50 grand!!
oh you don't want to mosh at work? damn i mosh all the time during my classes in college! SLAYER ALL THE WAY!
Controls on the Santana SE seem weirdly placed, for a trem guitar, and also how about 5-0 over Watford?
I heard you mention the Gears of War games in this video, are you a gamer? and if so would you ever do a gaming series on the agufish channel?
One I haven't uploaded to in years lol
You most definitely should do a game series on this channel or on the other one, that would be really really sick with your brand of commentary
It's funny because most of what you hear in the studio is a tele. A lot of their most notable recordings are a tele
Damn, just 3 questions?
Do it. Do metal on it.
Demo that SANTANA !
Pages tele was used A LOT in studio work. Late 70s he toured with a B bender version. The only reason he was a Gibson guy was because - back in the day the walls of marshall stacks (and Hiwatt.) didnt like teles haha. Trust me you can hear Teles all over his recordings. Zeppelin 1 was ALL tele - but im pretty sure like 80-90% of his rhythm tracks were that Tele on his other albums. Truth be told - i always thought of page as a tele player because all his mods on his les paul make it sound like a tele lol.
demo the dragon !!!
Dragon tele the most beatiful guitar ever!!
I’m buyers another one
It very flexible , playing with volume and tons
I get to sound like a strat
Quality
On the next one I will invest buyers push pull splits the pick ups
Santana model limiting tonal possibilities? Sounds true to the artist ....
Supposbly jimmy page recorded with telecaster on a good amount of tracks but I dont remember much haven't follow led zeppelin in while
"If you like Gold..." You missed a "golden opportunity" for a "Gold Member" Mike Myers meme. I'll see myself out...
Peep the poll options :)
"point to the nuts"
no demo
Yes, I'm waiting to see the first PRS SE Santana Trem demos, before I dip a toe in and possibly buy one. I actually LOVE gold guitars and have three, one of the best being my PRS SE Bernie Marsden, the body shape of which bears more than a passing resemblance to this Santana model... The signs aren't good, this video shows how totally crap the King Crimson model seems to be, which was announced at the same time: ruclips.net/video/meorAuPdc_M/видео.html
$1500 for a MIM?
I really hate to be that guy, but it's become a pet peeve and I can't help myself. When you pull a knob or flip a switch to make a humbucker sound like a single coil, it's coil "splitting" (split the humbucker in half), not tapping. Tapping is almost exclusively done on single coils, where you'll pull a knob or flip a switch and "tap" into a new location on the coil, effectively changing the frequency of the pickup. I have a 13.6 in one of my strats that can tap down to a 9.2. Yes, I know, the poorly-educated who get a burning sensation around back when someone tries to tell them they're wrong about something will say something like, "It doesn't matter." or, "You know what I mean.", but that's because they're petulant children and being told they're wrong makes them mad.
That’s what they’re saying is being done with this pickup. It’s tapping, not regular splitting
Jimmy Page needs $$$
